I toured Benton House of Woodstock for my mom. There was nobody there, and I had to wait. She said she was delivering the mail, but still nobody was at the front desk. Granted, I went on a weekend. All of the places made sure that even on the weekend, I had appropriate tours. At this place, the lady right off the bat was telling me that she doesn't really do tours. Every time I ask questions, she would say that she didn't have that information. All the other places gave me a professional booklet with all their information. This lady just printed out a price on the printer and gave me one sheet of paper. They didn't give things, but they had lots of gift stuff piled up everywhere. It's not that I was looking for that, but I was looking for a comparative service. We went to an office so I could ask questions, but the door was open. It was the end of the hall, and these people would keep walking down and talking to her. So majority of the time I'm sitting there talking to her, and she was having conversations with people in the doorway. It didn't make me feel like my time was important, my money, or my mother because she was too busy. She should have gotten up, shut the door, and focused on me. I was there to look at the place and she wasn't prepared with all the answers. The lady who normally does that on a weekday called me back. I told her how it went and how unprofessional some of the pieces were. She said they usually don't do tours on weekends and the other person filled in. I said that if they're going to tell somebody they can come on a weekend, they should prepare that person with what they need professionally to leave a good impression and give the right information. Otherwise, they could have told me that they don't do weekend tours and maybe could have accommodated me at 8:00 in the morning on a weekday or something before my job started. They just missed the mark on a lot of things. My mom is more assisted living, but you never know if they're going to have to move to memory care. I toured both pieces of their facility. I think it was two floors, and I was looking for ranch style. They had a chapel, a hair cutting room, a patio, and garden place for people.

I visited Benton House Of Woodstock, it's a great facility, three years old, and great people. No interaction with people at all 'cause of coronaviirus. Nice, nice place, they had a lot of good things going, they would allow me to leave for eight hours a day. It helps me because I can get away from my situation and maybe I can go play a golf once a week, which I can't do at the other place. Everything that they all have, caring all the way from memory care is where their special skills are at. They got everything you want: assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming, extend 24-hour care, a doctor on staff, three to four nurse practitioners, and other people that help, so it's a great place. The one person I met was very, very jolly, very, very happy. Christian is her name; great lady.

Caregivers are not well trained. The quality of care is not the best. High job turn over due to poor pay for caregivers. The food is also declining not what they promised. Managers don't seem to acknowledge visiting family members.

I was impressed at the facility - just looking at it. Now that my Mom is here, she fell in love within 5 Days - after saying she would not go & not stay. It was home within a week.

The food is horrible here. The food they serve for public events is different than what they serve for regular meals. The activities director is very caring and helps the residents have fun. The resident assistants are not good at cleaning and do not have good management or supervision to improve.

I thought Benton House of Woodstock was nice. The only thing that concerned me was that they had multiple price levels for care, and I was afraid that if my parents needed more care, it could get expensive. Other than that, the residents seemed happy, and the staff seemed caring.

We liked the setup of Benton House. One, you can kind of go in and make your own little breakfast like they have cereal and all that, or you could sit there in the dining room and have a hot meal. Also, the activities and things they had going on will work with my mother-in-law. They go up to Catanooga for a steamboat ride, to the apple houses up in North Georgia, to the park, and just do things like that. She has a smaller room, but it's got an outside entry with a porch, and she likes it. My husband and two daughters said the food was excellent. They couldn't stop bragging about how good it was, and they are very picky. The staff is very nice. The residents are very friendly, there's a good ladies' group that likes to do things, and I think that is probably the best thing about this place. She is happy here. The only thing is, it's a little steep on the price.
