I visited this facility

The staff that I saw at Savannah Court of Lakeland, and the people that I talked to, they were very, very friendly. The facilities were older. They're in the process of doing renovations, and they started first with the patient rooms. But because the patient rooms were being done first, the common areas looked old and worn. The reason why we didn't choose to go there was because of the staffing issue. For a person that needs minimal assistance, they would probably be just fine here. The staff was very accommodating, and the director called two or three times just to see how things were going. The facilities seemed worn but they were clean.

We went to the Savannah Court of Lakeland. They changed and prettied up the place a little bit more. This is the very first place in assisted living that my mom went into, and they have almost the same people working there. The place is pretty well-kept and clean, the people that work there are friendly, and they're also accommodating. It looks good outside and inside.

I visited this facility

They have no generators and the electric went out today due to the storm. By law this was to be in place already.

My mother-in-law is a resident of Savannah Court of Lakeland, and I'm very happy with it. It is a very nice and very caring environment. The staff is very accommodating, very attentive, and I am very pleased. Her room is very nice, very comfortable, and very clean. The dining room is very nice, very well kept, clean, with nice windows, and it has a very nice atmosphere. My mother-in-law says the food is very good. They play bingo and different games like bean bag toss, they go for walks, and they watch movies. She's more active now than she was at home. It's a smaller community which I like, because it seems like she gets more attention than the larger one we looked at. The cost is quite reasonable.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father in law stayed a short 4 months. He went in with dementia. Was still pretty healthy other than the occasional story telling due to the dementia. In the short time he was there we experienced the staff not making sure he ate (he literally withered away) they never cleaned his room unless they were told to. The residents walked into my father in laws room at night sometimes even climbing in bed. The only activity I ever saw was a few patients were allowed to walk around the building with a staff member. The place constantly reeked of urine and for a week had a huge blood stain outside his door from a woman falling and hitting her head. The staff to patient ratio is def. not adequate to take care of their needs. At dinner time I witnessed plates being placed in front of patients who could not eat due to their lack of motor skills and they were not once checked on and then the plate is removed 30 mins later. I witnessed a staff member screaming at a patient who wouldn't sit down to eat and forced her into her chair. There is nothing for patients to do but walk up and down the halls. Some will sit in the living room just waiting to excape when the door opens. It's a sad facility and I wish I had never left my Father in law there. Please reconsider leaving your loved one here.

I am a VA Accredited Claims Agent and assist veterans and surviving spouses with applying for a benefit that helps pay for assisted living. I have a number of clients who reside at Savannah Court of Lakeland. So far, I have received nothing but positive comments that confirm my own favorable impression I have of the community from having visited. Executive Direction Angie and Community Liaison Melanie are great to work with and very dedicated to making sure families and residents have a pleasant experience.

Don't bath their patients very often, Don't have enough workers for the number of patients they have .

I visited this facility

Most of the people at Savannah Court of Lakeland were quite a bit older, pretty advanced, and just sitting around in wheelchairs. There wasn't a lot of activity, and it didn't appear that there would be much socialization, and that was one of the things my wife needed. The facilities were fine, and the staff was exceptionally good. They didn't have a bus to do trips because it was mostly memory care, and most people won’t be able to do anything. The best thing they had was a golf cart to take somebody down to the drugstore. The rooms were unfurnished and fairly nondescript but nice. It was in a nice area, and since it was close to a golf course, it had a scenic view. For location, it was probably the best for enjoyable scenery. The room itself was nothing different nor out of the ordinary.

Savannah Court of Lakeland is a smaller facility, which we feel my father would do better in, and it’s very close to our home. We went in there at various times of the day and evening before we made the decision. It’s always clean, everybody always seems to be happy, and we like the feel of it. The staff seems to be caring and happy, and my father loves them. I just felt Savannah Court was the best placement for my dad.

I visited this facility

We visited Savannah Court. The visit was great. The place was good. The cost was out of our budget though. They just had single rooms. They were fair size, but still too crowded for a couple. The dining room was very nice. They have another really nice dining room for the family there. Their facilities appeared to be very good. I was impressed with the courtyard.

I visited Savannah Court of Lakeland, and the place is very nice, but expensive. The staff seemed OK, and the rooms are very nice. Their dining room is fine. Overall, it’s a nice facility.

My parent lives here and is very happy. Administration and floor staff genuinely care and are willing to partner with us as a family to care for my loved one. They create and stick with an individual care plan. Savannah Court is the real deal and they do not use manipulative marketing strategies. The atmosphere is homey with about 32 residents. It is the perfect set-up for people with mild Dementia. My parent was at a facility about a mile down the road, and while the décor was beautiful, the individual care was pathetic. They had no tolerance for Dementia. My parent now gets the attention needed and is thriving.

Savannah Court of Lakeland was small -- it was like 30 or 40 rooms. But it was very nice, and the food was outstanding. The downfall was that my mom did not want a single studio apartment type.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Our friends, My wife and myself were impressed with Savannah Court of Lakeland, so that’s the one reason we encouraged our friends to place their mother at that location. To me, it’s just a real nice place. It’s very comfortable and hey seem to care for all their residents well. They appeared to be genuine, caring people. It’s an adequate and nice size room, which resembles a nice (1) room apartment, with her own bath. It’s large enough for her and very accommodating for her. They have plenty of actives throughout the week such as bingo etc.. I’m very impressed with them. She’s happy there. She’s made friends, and she has a lot more to do than she did when she was with their family due to their work schedule. Great place to live.

This facility provides exceent caring daily services to the patient and also works extremely well with Hospice units which may become part of the caring program. They also provide excellent medical care through doctors that liason with their staff. In addition they are very helpful in locating and securing assistance with extra care and funeral services.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother was a resident of Savannah Court in Lakeland, Florida. When we went for a tour, we were looking for a semi private room, due to financial reasons. After many calls and visits, we placed her there. Our biggest surprise was she placed in a private room! This facility provides wonderful entertainment and keeps the residents engaged. They also include the families! This facility has the feel of home. Unfortunately, my mother passed away, but this home like facility was the best decision we ever made for her. I would recommend this Assisted Living Facility to anybody who is in need of an Assistant Living Facility!

I like the environment in Savannah Cottage. The people are very friendly. The program is really good. The facility is very clean and very secure. They have outside activities which we like. I think we're probably going to go with Savannah just because of the cost.

Savannah Cottage seemed clean enough. It's close enough to us so we could visit my mom frequently. We heard good reports from the relatives of people that had stayed previously. The staff as far as the quality of each person is very good. Although we feel they're understaffed as far as how many per shift. There are probably between 28 and 30 patients and there may be three or four staff. We sample the food several times. It's not great, and it's not bad, like you're eating in a school.
