One of the things I like a lot about Greenwich Farms at Warwick is just the size of it. It's not like a big institution, a hospital or you're just another number. It's kind of a smaller, quaint kind of deal and everybody knows each other. It's more like a family. It's not as overwhelming to try to get to know all the people that work there or the residents, and everybody's been very, very nice. The facility is beautiful. Their meals are also good. The price is certainly reasonable and under our budget expectations. They have great activities like outings. Mom is not going out on those, but they do for the other residents to have an option to drive around on the bus. Those who are capable of being on their own, go on shopping days and stuff where they'll go to Target or somewhere and let them amble around just to get out a little bit. In the facility, they have a lot of regularly scheduled programs, different churches, different singing groups, piano players, and different people that come in regularly. Of course, all that's published every month so you can see what is coming. There are like five activities a day, anything, from exercise classes, crafts, music, movies, and things to participate in. So, they're not just sitting in their room by themselves. There are things for them to get up and do as well as common areas where they can visit with each other. I've been very pleased with it.

We looked at Hawthorne Inn Lakeland, and it looked expensive. It was nice. It was set up like a little village on the inside with little shops. They hosted outings for the people who stayed there. There were appliances in larger apartments. The other ones were more or less a place to sleep and bathe. In the larger apartments, they had small kitchenettes. They showed me everything and they sat down with me. The staff was good. She seemed knowledgeable. It wasn't her normal thing to do the tours, but she did fine. The only negative thing would be some of the furniture in the rooms was a little dated. They had an outside area. It's a table and a little umbrella. It's nothing special. It's okay.

Most of the experienced Med techs/nurses have left, so new employees are like a revolving door. Some are extremely rude, don’t treat the residents with respect, kindness, and care. When management told, nothing is done, because they are so desperate and short staffed. They are quick to send patients out and with no communication to the family members. This place is not what it used to be. The only good things is the activities offered.

Hawthorne Inn Lakeland was a great facility. It was all one story, and it was clean and well-maintained. Everything seemed very nice. Everybody seemed very caring and nice, and the residents seemed happy. I just met the director, and she seemed very friendly.

Hawthorne Inn Lakeland is really nice and very clean. My brother moved in there, and it doesn't have that smell that other assisted living facilities have. It's kept really neat and the staff is very, very nice. It feels like you're in a community. The setup of the facility is just wonderful, because there are many communities and they have like a downtown area in the middle where they do activities. They have crafts, they play bingo, have a family night where residents can be with their loved ones, exercise, and movie nights. So, they try to keep them busy. The food is very good, too.

I toured Hawthorne Inn Lakeland, and it is a gorgeous place. It's very, very bright and airy and the staff seems very, very attentive to the patients. The biggest problem is it's so expensive, so I guess you get what you pay for. They have amenities like a salon, they had a fitness room, they had a little ice cream parlor, and they had a lot of stuff up towards the front. They also had transportation available for the residents and the cleanliness of the facility is perfect. In terms of location, it's more isolated than the other places we toured, but it's close to a large clinic. Other than that, it's five to six miles from the hospital. There are a couple of places like a pizza place nearby, but it's not like they could go out and walk to a restaurant, although they had transportation available.

My mother is in Hawthorne Inn Lakeland. The facility is very clean and very fresh smelling. They seem to care a lot about their residents. It seems like a nice place for her and the services they provide are good. I just wish that over the weekend, when I'm available to go over there, there's an administrative staff. There are only nursing staff or helpers, so it doesn't give me an opportunity to talk to any of the other administrative people that I talked to at the beginning before I decided to let mom stay there. The dining area seems fine and the food looks good. They do arts, therapy, gardening, and singing.

My father-in-law moved into Hawthorne Inn yesterday. It is great and welcoming. We have not had any problems. He has been there for respite care before and was treated fine. The staff seems very friendly and confident. There was just a little confusion when we droped him off for respite care because they did not have a room. I guess the people there did not realize they didn't have a room set up for him, but they straightened it out. I will recommend them.

I wasn't real impressed with Hawthorne Inn Lakeland. I wouldn't even recommend my husband to go back and look at it. It seemed a little dismal to me. I didn't get to see any room when I was there. I just dropped in unannounced, and there wasn't anybody available to show me around. I know other people who have their parents there and love it, but I didn't like it. The community around it is nice. It's residential primarily with commercial stuff around it. It just looked like it needed to have more updates, as far as paint, carpet, etc.

I do not have a lot of knowledge about the rooms of Hawthorne Inn, but I go there for a support group. It is a smaller facility. It is not as big and grand as the facility I am using for my husband, but it is set up like a small town. They have a beauty shop, a gift shop, a restaurant, and a library. It is very nice, and the people are always nice, but when I left my husband there for day care while we were doing our support group meeting, he never seemed to be happy when he came out. The food was always nice and healthy.

They made us feel very welcomed at Hawthorne Inn. They were very gracious. We didn’t get any, but we saw that they had very good food. They offer community living, and I think they offer transportation for doctor's visits but not for grocery shopping and stuff like that. It was a wonderful place. It was very clean, and it kept you safe. They had people at the doors to see you in or out. Well I think they’re doing a wonderful service for the people they have.

We have been very happy with Hawthorne Assisted Living. Mom has been there for three weeks now. She is in a semi-private room with another resident. They play games and they have a place in the center called Town Square. This community also has different neighborhoods. Mom is in a neighborhood with other people that has what she has. Each individual person, when they sit down for a meal, is sitting down to a tablecloth with cloth napkins and everybody's meal is provided for that particular person. For example, if Mom couldn't eat gluten, they would know that and they would make her a special diet. Everything is made from scratch up there. We have come across this facility through people from the Alzheimer's Support Group that we attended. They spoke very highly of the place. When we checked it out, we were impressed with the way the place looked. It is a clean facility and, to me, that's a big deal. When we went over there, my mom's smiling. You can't believe how much happier she is right now there! As far as I'm concerned, Mom is in a best place that money can buy. It is the most wonderful place. Each and every time I go there, I'm in awe. The staff is really helpful and informative, and every time we go in there, we're really happy with them. They are cheerful all the time. Each girl gets get to know each person's likes and dislikes and they cater to that particular person's needs. I have watch the girls come from a different neighborhood into Mom's neighborhood and they gave a certain person a hug just because they haven't seen this person in a day or so and I thought this is the most loving place that I have ever seen. There is always a doctor on-call. They look on their residents every two hours when they're sleeping. I couldn't work with Mom's situation because I have no knowledge of that but these people can do way more than I could do for her.

Very nice in appearance and the AHCA survey, assessing conditions here, was excellent (no violations). The staff seems to be very much on top of things.
