"I went to Freedom Plaza Arizona. It was very nice, but it was too expensive for us. We toured the apartment. It was very nice, modern, and up to date. You can have a happy hour every day. It had meals. It was very nice, and the food was excellent. I know they have a swimming pool."

"This is a friendly, caring community of and for seniors. I have lived here 12 years, and though employees come and go on occasion, it has provided outstanding service for these years. And the facility is a reasonable size. Covid certainly affected the familiar, but care and services continued as before. The facility is currently undergoing upgrading."

"My grandmother has lived at Royal Oaks since 1997, and I visit her there at least twice a month. This is a wonderful facility in many ways. My grandmother lives in an apartment, but they also offer assisted living and health care. I have visited all areas of Royal Oaks with my grandmother to meet her friends. The staff there are wonderful. I have had the most interaction with the wait staff. There are three options for dining: the Grill (casual), the Oak Room (sit down dining) and the Arbor Room (fancy dining). The food is great and the staff respect the residents and have great customer service. There is also a wonderful workout facility which is brand new. There is a large pool, cardio machines and weight lifting machines, and aerobic classes. My grandma volunteers with hospice care at the care center, and I have visited her friends there frequently. The nursing staff is kind to the residents and take good care of them. There are plenty social events to attend, and local trips to go on. They encourage their residents to be active. I am so thankful my grandmother lives here. "

"Merrill Gardens at Anthem is an integrated place. The assisted care and the independent living were all mixed together. It's quite new. I think it's only about 5 years old, and the thing I liked about it was that it had a lot of balconies. It had some first-floor apartments that had patios, so I could have my own patio right off of your apartment and take my dog directly outside. The staff were nice. There was a small library, an outdoor pool, and some outdoor areas where you could go out and sit. It's just that the amenities were very limited. The common area was a one gigantic room. It was like a gathering space living room type. The workout space was very limited. I think they just had a couple of machines and the art place was part of that same room."

"La Loma Village is both independent living and assisted living. It is excellent. It is an individual based place and not a group. The room and the dining room are very nice. They were updating what wasn't updated. "

"I have been in this facility several times now as a visitor. When you first walk in the main entrance, they have very friendly staff there to greet you. As a security precaution to the residents, every person that comes in must sign in and sign out when they leave. I have gone in there because they have a branch of my banking instition inside, and it is closest to where I live. I think that is so nice for the residents who need to do their banking. It's also convenient for me! During Christmas time, I went in and the place was beautifully decorated. After that I went in one morning and I was there too early for the bank and I had to wait. I asked if there was any coffee available, and I was directed to the onsite restaurant. There were senior citizens in there talking and having their breakfast and seeming to enjoy themselves very much. The mail boxes are inside the facility and basically, if the residents want to "get out of the house" without going outdoors, there seems to be plenty of areas to go and socialize within the facility. It is also close to the hospital and medical providers which would be convenient for the residents that have health issues. They do allow small pets which I think is very nice as well. I really enjoy going into Grandview Terrace. I would live there if I was old enough and had the money. "

"I toured The Colonnade. The apartments are beautiful, there's no getting away from that. But it is a buy-in, and they only give you 10 meals a month. You have to buy your own food and cook and all that stuff. The staff who accommodated me was okay. I was with a friend of mine, and it was a man, and she spoke mostly to him rather than to me. I was the one who was interested and she spoke mostly to him, and that wasn't nice. She asked, 'Is that your boyfriend?' And I said no but she kept talking to him and not me. The food was OK, nothing special."
