Financial Assistance for Assisted Living in Bergen County

The Medicaid Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) is the state’s Medicaid waiver that offers support with assisted living costs to low-budget seniors who qualify. There are no state-funded programs that provide aid for assisted living at this time.

The agency provides information on public programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and long-term care insurance, which can help seniors and families find ways to cover the cost of assisted living services.
Division of Veterans Services(201) 336-6325The county’s Division of Veterans Services helps veterans and their dependents understand their rights and obtain state and federal benefits they’re entitled to. It directs veterans and their survivors to the resources that are relevant to their needs, assists them in completing forms for benefits and makes referrals to other agencies as necessary. It can also help qualifying individuals access VA healthcare services.
Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey(201) 837-9090JFCS is a local nonprofit agency that provides a broad range of services to seniors in Bergen County. Through its case management service, it conducts in-home assessments to evaluate seniors’ needs and develops care plans to optimize their quality of life.
