My friend was at The Belvedere. The setup was very nice. The staff was very nice. Security was great. The rooms were very nice. They had someone do her wash. Whenever she needed help or she needed to go to the grocery store, someone would assist her. They had activities. I knew more about that facility because I visited her often there. The room was like your own little apartment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I went there the first time, they were very helpful. When I called them on the phone, they would call over the intercom, try to locate her, and inform her she had a call. Everyone was very nice. She didn't care for the food too much because it was mainly Jewish people. Their menu mainly focused on that, but she had her own refrigerator and microwave, so it was OK. It was very clean. They had a little area downstairs. When you came in, the first desk that you came across was the security desk. Then they had a little area with coffee, tea, and a vending machine. They had a big room if you wanted to talk and look at the TV or wait for someone. The area was clean. Everything was open, available, and easily accessible. I remember a couple of times I called her and she was in a couple of activities, like they had a party for one of the holidays. Whenever I went to visit her, I would go into her apartment or we would go out, but I know they had a lot of activities because she had mentioned them to me. I know they had bingo and all that. I know they had times when the people would go out and sit outside in front of the buildings. I remember her saying that they always have things going on. They're very expensive. She was paying $6000 a month. Others were a little less, but I can understand why they were less because their rooms were just a room and a bathroom. She had an apartment. I guess that's why she paid more. The amount of money that she was paying was fair. She had someone who did her laundry. She had 24/7 medical care. She had a nurse who would come and give her medication and someone who could take her to the grocery store. They had a facility where you can get your hair done. For all those amenities, I guess the rate was fair. I think it's a very nice facility.

Great Place to Place a Loved One This is a great place with warm and caring staff. It was such a difficulty decision but we are so happy we went with belvedere. I cannot say enough great things about how well everyone cared for my mom at such a difficult time. Thank you to all!

My friend is not happy at The Belvedere. It's a locked place. She can't eat the food there because it's all kosher and she's losing a lot of weight. She has a studio and it has the bathroom, the bedroom, and the living and eating part, but you can see right where the bed is and stuff. There's just a little partition there. She said they have nothing for her to do. I think they had bingo or something, but she's an active person, so this is not good for her. She sits downstairs. She likes to get her hair done and her nails done, but they don't have that there. She never mentioned playing anything. There's a seating area right where you dine or you sit out front. They have a couple of benches out front. I didn't go any further than that. They have a backyard for them. The facility looked clean. Her room wasn't too bad, but they had a flood. Her room got flooded out, and it took them a long time to get that cleaned up, and there's carpet on the floor, so it took a long time to dry it out and clean the room up. Some of the staff are kind of nice. It's a locked place, so you got to get buzzed in and stop at the desk to let them know who you're trying to see or whatever.

Finally found the right place After researching and touring multiple locations to place my dad, I found The Belvedere in Brooklyn I immediately felt so comfortable and knew I found the right place to care for my dad. He is diagnosed with dementia and the staff in the memory care unit were so warm and helpful. The environment was clean and inviting. The residents were all involved in activities and interacting with one another. I know we made the right decision.
