The day my husband and I moved into Cedar Ridge, we knew we had made the right decision. The timing was perfect – we no longer wanted the responsibilities and duties associated with a large home so it was time to enjoy a more carefree life. And such a carefree life it is! We are constantly amazed at the variety of activities available. For card players there is Bridge, Canasta, Cribbage and Sheepshead. There are book clubs, support and discussion groups, a weekly Coffee Hour with guest speakers, and many monthly entertainment events to choose from. There are acres of natural space for walking and exploring. The fully equipped gym is perfect for my exercise program and a swim in the pool followed by a few relaxing minutes in the hot tub is one of my favorite treats. For spiritual needs there are weekly and monthly chapel services for all faiths. A perfect day may include lunch at the Market Café or dinner at the Top of the Ridge Restaurant. One of my favorite days is when my housekeeper arrives to clean our apartment. I have often compared living at Cedar Ridge to staying at a lovely hotel. During the first few weeks here I kept expecting a call telling me “Your vacation is over – you must go home now”. Then I remembered that we really ARE “home now”, in our comfy apartment, surrounded by dear friends, and having a wonderful time! I think my husband completely summed this up when he remarked – “this is just like old times only with new friends”. Those few words describe Cedar Ridge exactly!

We looked at Cedar Community Independent Apartments. It's beautiful, very nice, and very well taken care of. They have granite and high-end appliances in their rooms. However, the room that we saw was smaller than what my parents are in now. The staff was very nice. They're willing to help and make sure you're making the right decision. They have like a workshop for men and women. They have a library, a fitness area, and a pool. The whole facility is huge. It was built a long time ago, and now they're renovating it. But the difference to where my parents are is that they have like a patio door that slides so they can just walk outside on the first floor, but here, they don't have that because that's not how that building was built. That was a big problem because my parents have a dog, and they didn't want to walk down the hallway to take the dog out every time the dog had to go to the bathroom, so that was the big deal killer. And the price is 20% more expensive.

Cedar Ridge Apartments had a pool. The food was excellent. The staff was good. They had the same activities as most independent places except they also had a handbell choir. The rooms had full kitchens.

Cedar Ridge is very friendly and very clean. We had lunch there, very good food. We looked at a 2-bedroom, 2 bath. Nice-sized apartment. They had a swimming pool, they had a library. They had a crafts room, a music room and an exercise room.

It's a very nice place. The people were wonderful. I know people who live there and they have said nothing but great things about them. We're at a point where we don't really need to make that decision right now. It's totally different from the other place, where you buy the place. But I think I would rather have a place where we rent.

A friend told me about Cedar Ridge so we got interested that's why we decided to tour the place. It is a very nice place. They are very warm and friendly. The staff are all wonderful. I know people who lived there and they are saying great things about it. It's a very beautiful place but they are all very costly. But definitely a wonderful place to live.
