Wellington Place of Whiting

My father-in-law is on a waiting list at Wellington Place of Whiting. We just got a much better feeling during the tour there than we did from any of the other places that we visited. The place seemed very clean and comfortable. The layout seemed convenient because it's all on one level. It was not a huge place, so we thought he would receive more personalized care. The staff was very friendly, outgoing, and seemed very knowledgeable.

My father moved into Wellington Place of Whiting. It's a smaller community and it has a very homey atmosphere. It does not feel like an institution. It just has such a personal and cozy feeling. They do try to get him out to socialize. He does go out to eat in the common area at a table with other people and I think that was a big improvement for him just to have other people around him. The food is excellent there. They do have a mass there during the week. They have a beauty salon, laundry service, a library area, a TV room, and a little patio garden area. Everybody has been very friendly and very caring. We've seen them in action when we were in the room and needed to have somebody come in and help Dad, they're there right away.

Wellington Place of Whiting was a great place but my sister has to be assessed first before they can figure out a price point. It was very, very nice and the people who gave us the tour were fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone. It's a beautiful place.

I really liked Wellington Place of Whiting a lot. I felt that it was very warm, inviting, and clean. Based on what I saw I really considered this place for my mom, but there were no rooms available. The community was beautiful; it was truly a nice place. There was a little singing going on for the residents, it was very nice, and they seemed to enjoy listening to the person singing for them. It was very pleasing. I really thought the room I saw was nice. The living area is slightly separate from the bedroom area, although it's just one room. Overall, it's a very nice, comfortable, and inviting community.

When I first learned that my mother-in-law would be moving to an assisted living facility, I was terrified. I couldn't help but think of a dirty, smelly place where people walked around screaming and talking to themselves. I could not have been more wrong. Wellington is a blessing to its residents and their families. The facility is sunny, spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. I have always been made to feel at home when visiting. I wish my mother-in-law could still live at home, but since she can't, I'm glad we have Wellington. The staff are truly angels, they treat my mother-in-law as if she were their own family. The administration also goes out of its way to include families in celebrations and events. If you or a loved one have to move into an assisted living facility, please consider Wellington. I promise, you won't regret it.
