My sister is at Milan Estates. We chose it because of the size. They are very attentive, and we are extremely satisfied with their service so far. The staff has been very kind and very welcoming. She has no complaints about the food, so I think it's been good. It's a beautiful facility, and so far, we're very happy. It's a good location for our family, and it's very centralized to a lot of the siblings. It was just a good fit.

I liked Milan Estates because it's less pretentious. It's more home-like and smaller. I think that one had 18 beds, so it was a smaller, more of a family community. It's an appropriate size for country folk. The staff was very good, I liked them. They were friendly, warm, and outgoing. They talked to you, they interacted, and didn't act like it pained them. The residents interacted with me, and they like where they were at. They were making lunch at the time I was there, but the food was not offered to me. What they were making looked good and smelled good, and it was clean. The dining area is just a big open space with tables that are close to where the kitchen is. It's brightly lit with natural light coming in through a big open window, like a big, great room. It was just nice. People could sit in groups or individually. It was cool. They have a hairdresser come in and a podiatrist too. They have nursing that'll come in a couple of times a week. I liked the staff, they communicated and seemed happy with what they were doing.

I went on a tour here and found the residents were full of food on their clothing and still on the side of their mouth with drink's that were obviously spilled onto them. While touring, I noticed that residents must have not been changed as there was a strong order of urine up and down the halls that we walked. While in the building we walked in and out and no one approached us. We asked for help and we were told that staff is always understaffed and that no one was there to help them. There was food still on the plates, whole meals, so one could assume that the food is not good. I would not recommend this community as I was not impressed.

Milan Estates was very nice. It was right off of Highway 43. I'm looking not only for convenience for my husband, but I'm also looking for convenience for myself, so I could visit every day or whenever. The rooms were almost like a suite. You have a kitchenette, a living room outside of your bedroom, you have a bathroom right off from the bedroom, you can have a couch or chair in the living area, and you have a little table for your kitchenette, and then a sink and a counter. Everybody eats in the dining room and they were eating when we were there. You could go out of the patio, you could grill, or they do it for you every now and then. They let them go out there and sit in the sun at the patio and bring them back in. They have it pretty comfortable. It was really homey.

Just moved my brother into Milan Estates 2 weeks ago. The staff is so caring and they did an amazing job of making us feel welcome. It's such a relief to know he's in safe hands.

My mother lives Milan so much. I am always welcome and am assured that her physical, social and emotional needs are being met.

Milan Estates is a very small facility with perhaps about 30 residents. However, this is great because it creates a small community among the staff and residents. Everyone has their meals at the same time, several watch the TV, and others go outside on the back porch. Doors are frequently open and welcoming. The faculty is generally very friendly and often come to check in on residents that need extra care (which is exactly what we hoped for!). The apartments themselves are small but cozy with a single bedroom, living room, spacious bathroom, and kitchenette. Our family member has done much better with assisted living in this facility because of the active care and attention. We can always visit and talk to the very available employees to hear how she is doing. The faculty knows the residents by name as well as their needs. They also often make meals from scratch and celebrate birthdays and other holidays as a community. It is a fairly plain setup with a more functional appeal rather than decorative. The often open doors also presents some problems, as our relative has had a DVD and table taken to use by the community and not returned right away. Other than that, it has been a good place for her.
