I moved into The Meadows of Fond du Lac a few months ago. They are very good. They talk to us about every two hours, give us our medications, and are just very helpful. The food is delicious too. We have three meals a day and quite a few choices. I've gained weight since I got here unfortunately. I have an efficiency apartment that overlooks the city, while the other side of the building overlooks the golf course. We also have larger apartments, like a 2-bedroom type. We have an indoor pool where we do our water aerobics. There also is bingo, chair exercises (which is nice for older people that find it a little harder to balance and stand), church services that are recorded, and different little games (besides bingo). The activities director is very good. The weekday staff is wonderful, but the weekend staff is not quite as good as them. The value we get is very good. The facility is well worth for what we pay.

I went to The Meadows of Fond du Lac. It was nice the way they had everything set up. But I just thought that was way out of line for money. I just want assisted living. I won't need any help. Otherwise, it was a nice setup they had. But that is outrageous just to live there. The staff was good. She explained everything, what was going to happen and whatever. But I just started over and that was just way too much money for one month. It was like a one-bedroom apartment.

The Meadows of Fond du Lac was OK. They answered my questions regarding the services provided. They were good. The rooms were more like hotels. It's a multi-story building. They have a dining room and an area where you can do exercises with some equipment. They have various levels of service and the fee was charged according to the needs of the resident. So, if you're fairly independent, it was a lower fee, and if you needed more assistance with self self-care kind of activities, then they add additional fees to that. So, that was a nice thing. It was a flexible fee structure. I just didn't see the whole building.

This place is no different than the other ones this person owns. Believe me a big fancy building means nothing when you have poor quality nutrition, untrained unprofessional staff (starting at the top) and lack of providing quality of life. The company keeps growing and continues to decline. When someone has to sell you on the cosmetics there is more behind it.

It was true that the staff during the week was more attentive than the weekend staff now they are all the same inattentive. Minimal staff and the less they have to do for you the better they like you. Activity person is amazing and tries but hands are somewhat tied by the (as the staff refers to her) large and in charge women that walks around the facility. We are fortunate to be able to prepare meals in our room because the food has definitely gone down since the facility opened. Large very large turn over in the kitchen staff and lack of experience for what we are charged not that good of a value anymore. Everything was presented as if it was top quality in the beginning now if you don't like it too bad "We have to cut costs" is what we are told. Now he is going to build another one and we have all seen what happened to the other Goodlife facilities when he built this place. We all no it is a business but at the end of the day we are people not a product. Just because a dime is new and shiny it is still just a dime.
