My mother-in-law has recently moved to Bella Vista. It's only been a little bit, but it seems like a very nice place for her. It's what she needs. The staff is responding quite well, they have housekeeping come once a week, and they have meals prepared. So she goes down to eat the meals and everything's taken care of. They're taking social security checks, but they give her $100 a month for spending money, which is more than enough. Her room is very, very nice, I wouldn't mind retiring there myself. The place is so new, they have a library, and she wants to volunteer because she's so into reading. They also do bingo every now and then. They have plenty of things for the people. She's not all crazy about the food, but it's good, healthy stuff. She has a partial view of the park, so she's not just looking at a brick wall. The place seems to be very well-maintained, and they have a bus parked out at the back. The staff keeps us very well-informed.

My mother lives in Bella Vista. The building has five floors and every floor gets served meals before the area where my mom is in. So the food, 9 times out of 10, comes up to them cold and dried out. A lot of the people that are up there are in the condition where they have problems with chewing. When things come up dry and hard, they can't even bite into them. My mother will usually opt to just have a couple of servings of soup instead of half a cup. We have complained about it since the day she got up there and they haven't fixed it yet. The place looks nice, but the level of care is not good. She is sharing a room currently with someone else. It's a large room and can be split in half, so she's able to have her dressers, large closets, and TVs up there. Some of the bathrooms have walk-in showers while some have a shower with a bathtub. They have computer hookups throughout and TV cable. There's also a sunroom and a living room that are available for people to use whenever they want. They have a library that she uses. They occasionally have crafts and bingo, but that's it. There's stuff available where people can do things like puzzles, cards, and other stuff if they want to, but there are no planned activities. The facility looks pretty, but it's not taken care of all that well. They are supposed to have someone come in and clean the rooms once a week but they don't. The things that they were in the contract that they would do, they don't do, because they're very short staffed. They rarely have enough staff on hand.

Bella Vista is an old hospital and they redid the whole thing. I liked it. It was a very nice place. The room was nice, and it had a washer-dryer. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The dining area was very nice. I saw women playing cards. They had a fitness room.

Bella Vista was spacious and clean. It has all the amenities needed for a senior living. Their single rooms were not spacious but they're adequate for an individual. They would have been ideal for me because it'll just be for me, I have no other relatives, but the cost was beyond my means. Their menu was good. It has a selection of three entrees for a dinner meal. They got a huge exercise room, and that was really nice. They also have meetings and groups where they get together in various assemblies and activities. The only thing that was not good was each room does not have an individual outside porch, but they do have an outside area where you can go picnic and gather in the summer. The parking is also good because it's inside.

My mother is at Bella Vista. They were very helpful with getting her inside in a very short time, especially with COVID going on. Her apartment is beautiful. It's a small one-bedroom apartment, but it's enough for her. The staff is wonderful. She hasn't complained about the food. The place is very clean and very comfortable. They are very proactive with keeping everyone healthy. Everything was explained to us. They allowed us to come in and do a tour before she moved in, and they painted her apartment the color she wanted them to. I would very highly recommend it.

Bella Vista was very nice, clean, and well set up. The person who took us around was very professional and thorough and took us both through the assisted living and the memory care units. She was very knowledgeable about what they have, and they had very good follow-up after that. It was everything what we could ever hope for. They had games, painting, and a lot of things laid out. It was a pretty thorough calendar of events going throughout the week and month. It's a beautiful place.

Bella Vista was very nice. I was shown the dining room and several areas that were open. It seemed very nice, except that it is an old hospital in Oshkosh that had been renovated into apartments. To me, I had that thought where many family members had passed away there, and I thought of that as I was touring the place, even though it was nice. The staff members were very polite and very pleasant. The food looked good, but I didn't try any of it. It was served sitting down, so I thought that was a plus that residents didn't have to go to like a cafeteria line. There is a library and a lot of parking in the back. They have a whole calendar of activities. They have music from time to time.

At Bella Vista, everything was nice as far as appearance, but the building and the people all seemed a little older than I wanted to get into. The staff member who showed me around was wonderful. We had lunch in the dining area, and their food was good. They have underground parking. They have a bus and public transportation. They have elevators, which is a good thing. I don't know all their activities, but it seemed like there was bible study.

We had a very nice visit at Bella Vista. They were very friendly and showed us everything we asked to see. We saw the different apartments, schedules of the feedings, and it was really nice. The staff was wonderful. We had kids with us and they sat them down and turned the TV on for them so they could watch cartoons. It was really a good experience overall. We saw a 1-bedroom apartment with a small kitchenette, but it was very small. You couldn't even fit a queen-sized bed in the bedroom. They also have 2-bedrooms, which were bigger, one was decent-sized, but the other one was more like an office and it was very small. They have a lot of activities, the meals are varied, and you can say what you want. They called me a month ago for an apartment for $2,200. I spoke to some of the residents and they have nothing but good things to say about the place.

We went to Bella Vista twice, and my mom ultimately moved there. She thinks it's beautiful. The apartment was the smallest they have, but there's plenty of room for her. It wasn't furnished, but it has a kitchen, and a washer and dryer. She likes the fact that she has a choice for the main meal, the option of vegetables, and a chef salad. They have an exercise room, outings to grocery stores, thrift stores, and they go once a month to eat out. They have Bingo, Wii bowling, and socials. Everybody has been pretty friendly.

My father is in Bella Vista, and they're doing a decent job. They made attempts to address some issues, but to a limited degree, and I don't think they're aggressively addressing them. It's a rehabilitated hospital, and the rooms are L-shaped, so one person gets the long part of the L, and another gets the short part. There's an unequal amount of space where everybody is paying the same price. They have activities, but some are pretty childish, like games, and they have happy hour, and shopping trips.

Bella Vista is more of an independent and assisted living combination where they serve dinners but you have your own apartment. It is like a hotel. They have homemade cookies every day. You can go down and have a cup of coffee and a cookie and meet your friends and just hang out there. It is really nice. Bella Vista is on the lake and has beautiful views of the lake. It's an old hospital, so the hallways are very wide, and nothing feels cramped and everything feels open. The woman who showed me around was really wonderful and really nice. She followed up with me several times afterwards, so she was very attentive to me. The food was absolutely wonderful when I ate there. She invited me for lunch and the food was wonderful. It was a bit pricey, though. It would have stretched my budget a little further than I would have wanted to go.

We put mom in Bella Vista, and she fell and broke her tibia. We were not happy with the memory care unit. We had a number of issues the night that she broke her leg. She went and talk to them about it, and they said it looks fine. They called the nurse, and the nurse didn’t come and look at it. She sat for two hours with her leg broken until my brother got there to take her to the hospital. I asked them to please transport mother in the wheelchair because it was too far for her to walk from her room to the dining room, and they fuss about it that very morning that she broke her leg. I have asked to please transfer in the wheelchair, and they argued with me and finally said "OK, we will do that." I think they’re under staffed. The dining area and the food were good with good variety, and the portions were adequate. Their activities director was very involved and very good.

We had a general tour of Bella vista; they had 1 bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments, and they were quite nice. It was a renovated hospital, it looked like a very fancy hotel, and I had a very nice feel for it. It was the least expensive of the facilities I visited. The staff in sales did a lot of follow up and was interested in me and my situation.

Bella Vista is too expensive for my taste. It is a nice facility, although a little spread out, so there is a lot of walking. It’s a large, nice facility that is well located right across from the park. Between the park and the facility is Lake Winnebago, so you’re about a block away from the lake. It is pretty good. I had a friend who was looking for a facility like that, and since I toured it, I recommended it to her, and now she lives there. It’s one of the top places around and one of the better ones I've seen. It has underground parking, too.

We were not thrilled with what is happening at Bella Vista. They keep changing ownership; in fact, their executive director just left yesterday again. They have been changed four times in the last four years. The RN in charge has also changed four or five times as well. My aunt is independent, but she has gotten pressure ulcers, and I don’t understand why a pressure ulcer happened. The place is beautiful and the apartments are big. There’s a library and a suite where the family can rent to stay there. It’s great for independent living.

Bella Vista is an old hospital that has been converted to senior living apartments and assisted living. It looks like a Hilton hotel; the walls, the carpeting, and everything is beautiful. My in-laws are in a good-sized one-bedroom with a den and lots of storage. Their furniture fit quite well, and it has plenty of open wide spaces and a walk-in shower in the bathroom. It's very homey.

I thought Bella Vista was very pleasant and had the atmosphere of a hotel. It was an older building that used to be hospital or something, so it had a very solid structure and felt like a hotel. The side facing the street was beautiful because it overlooked a park and that park fronted a lake. The rooms themselves were nice. The quarters were a little dark, but the halls were very nice. The staff was very nice. The only problem was there was a big price difference to where my mother is now.

Bella Vista was really cool and had an a la carte system. If you were independent, you could have your own care, but if time went on and you needed assistance, they could give you the additional care that you needed there. I believe they also had detached apartments, but we were in the main facility in assisted living. I got the impression that if my mom took one of the apartments, she could stay as independent, and if she ended up needing assistance, except with Alzheimer’s, she could stay in that room and didn’t have to move. That was one thing we liked about it, but it was over our budget. It was originally a hospital that they renovated. You could get a beautiful one- or two-bedroom apartment. The facility was absolutely gorgeous. We toured the dining room, workout room, and beauty salon. It was really nice. The staff was great, nice, and very pleasant.

Bella Vista was very nice. They had a lot to offer, and the price was reasonable. The hallways were very nice and clean. They had transportation to different places. The only thing I didn’t like was the layout of the room. The staff was very nice.

Bella Vista by far is the best. It is the nicest place, and it is economical too. Nothing else was even close. Their service was excellent. They had very spacious apartments. I put my mother in a one-bedroom unit, and she actually has a washer & dyer in there. They have a step-in shower. It is a great place to be. My mom is there a little over a month now, and she is very happy there. It is the only one I see that had a kitchen and a washer & dryer inside the apartment itself.

I was in the hospital and then they put me in Bella Vista, but I’m not really happy there. I know they've let a few staff go -- those that were nasty to the residents. They make you do things that the doctors didn’t approve of. They have activities here like bingo and music, but I didn’t go down much to activities because my back hurt so bad I couldn’t go. The facility is clean; it’s fairly good. They have a library, a gym and an exercise room. There are two dining rooms here; one is where I go eat and the other, which I never got to, is where the older people or the sicker people are. There’s plenty of room in our dining room and food was OK. You got a menu for every meal and you got to pick your choice off the menu. They could improve on the serving and the meals that they serve at supper time leave a lot to be desired. Some of the staff is OK and some aren’t. Some are very helpful where others aren’t and don’t care to be.
