I visited this facility

I have been looking at Highlands At South Hill, which is a 55 and above community. You are not responsible for upkeep of the building, and you can live individually and have a garage for your car, but you are not served any meals. You don't own the land and you don't own the home you live in, but you can live as a senior citizen. I have my name on a waiting list, but I have to wait nine to 13 months to get in because it's so popular. You don't have to take care of your property and you don't have to put money into care of the deterioration of your building as the years go by. There are activities and there is service for transportation to the grocery store or wherever. It's very well kept up. They have meetings and gatherings in the clubhouse, and they have a bus. I've met two people that are living there now and the staff member that I talked to was very nice.

I visited this facility

The staff was very personable and very friendly. Highlands had duplexes, and they were very beautiful. I am impressed with how beautiful they keep the grounds and everything. It was very nice there. In the clubhouse, you could go play cards. There was a library, an exercise room, and a pool room. They have games that you can play if you want to. As far as I know, the security is good. It is a gated community.
