I was in Brandenwood Apartments for twenty minutes and Debbie, the manager, was very thorough and answered all my questions. It's a small community. It's a 60-unit building, and it's not new, but it's very clean, and you can definitely feel you have the sense of community provided by the management. I could tell that she knew all her residents by name when I watched her interaction with them. They really liked her and it was just a nice feeling. The facility is for the 62 plus age limit, and they're fully independent there. They have their own kitchens, showers, and everything, but at the same time they have a pull cord if something happens, so that's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I was impressed with the rooms. I was looking for a two-bedroom for my parents, and I felt like there was a lot of space there. They have a walk-in closet, a storage area, which is really nice, and a lot of cupboard space in the kitchen. I think it's very livable compared to other places where the units looked nice, but there's no place to put their stuff in. They have a library area, a common area with a big TV, and a common kitchen that you can use for family visits or birthday parties. They usually have some barbecue parties on Saturdays too, but the activities are limited right now. Debbie was very nice, and she just somehow made the fire department come to the place and vaccinate all the residents. She goes out and beyond her duties. She also said that every Christmas and Thanksgiving, she's cooking meals for the residents.

I visited Bradenwood and it was fine. The only drawback was the room I have seen which was downstairs and dark. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Everybody had their own kitchen, so there was no feeding or dining room. I liked the discounted rate best.
