In March 2024, our Dad passed away, rather suddenly, in our parent’s home in Bellevue. Our Mom expressed a desire to move out rapidly, and we discussed the option of a premier senior living community. My Mom’s hope was that, during this acute period of grief, that she would not have to part with her two cats. “We will cross that bridge if we have to, she said.” I told her that our family would take care of the cats if necessary. These were searing, early conversations. I assumed responsibility for our parent’s estate and became personal representative for our mother. I live in Southern California, but I am fortunate to have two siblings who live in Washington State. We felt that time was of the essence for Mom, so we moved swiftly. My brother and his spouse began to look for a potential community. Based on referrals from a network of friends, their top choice to evaluate was the Gardens. After identifying a wonderful unit that was available, they called me. My brother’s first quote was, “this isn’t just a place to live, it is a community; the residents are friendly, and it feels like a warm environment.” They brought our mother to the Gardens, and she gave it a big thumbs up. We moved her in, and the cats settled in rapidly. During the past seven months, I have spent a great deal of time at the Gardens. I have enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the dining room and have had extensive conversations with other residents. Given that there is an on-site continuum of care offering, should Mom’s needs evolve over time, I take solace that she is settled. More importantly, given my geographic distance from her, the thought that there is a caring and competent Gardens team looking out for her provides additional comfort. I think that our Dad would be pleased and would have wanted the best that we can do for Mom.

After thoroughly researching several senior care facilities in downtown Bellevue, we found that The Gardens was the perfect choice for my father. His one bedroom apartment is beautifully updated, clean, and comfortable, creating a welcoming environment for him to feel at home. The amenities, especially the bright and well-appointed dining room, are top-notch, making every meal a pleasant experience. The daily programs are engaging, offering a variety of fun activities that can kepp the day busy. However, the true highlight of The Gardens is the staff. With four dedicated nurses and a caring support team, the level of care is great. They are responsive, kind, and truly invested in the well-being of the residents Most importantly, my father is happy here, and that brings us all peace of mind. I highly recommend The Gardens for anyone seeking quality care for a loved one

Our room here in The Gardens at Town Square is very nice, bright, and cheerful. The people are friendly. It is well taken care of. The staff is helpful. There are outings and concerts. We haven't taken part in many, but there are lectures, and there's a resident council so people can get feedback. The dining room is very cheerful and bright, and the food is excellent.

When visiting memory care area for the first time, it is confusing to know where to go to find the person you want to visit with. But it was awesome to see all the residents together being active in some way! And every single staff person was lovely! I will also add, the level of "memory care" necessary for this particular resident is minimal, it's more physical care that is needed... And it was expressed by the resident (and I could see) that it would be nice to be able to connect more often with the residents in the other areas of the facility as it would allow them to stay engaged on a needed social level.

My 91 year old Mother's move to assisted living was precipitated by a fall and subsequent broken hip. She was living independently and, before her accident, fierce in her insistence that she would never move to a senior community. Our experience at The Gardens has been wonderful in every aspect, from admittance to daily living in the community. The facility is beautiful and exceptionally well managed and maintained. The staff is compassionate, cheerful and interested in each resident as individuals. My Mother has renewed interests and a host of friends. She told me she feels so safe at The Gardens, and compares the activities offered residents to her experience traveling with Elder Hostel tours years ago. Price comparisons I made as I selected an assisted living community in our area show The Gardens to be a great value, and well within our family's financial grasp.

The facility was clean and decorated nicely. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My friend I was visiting said there are many activities offered, but not many people taking advantage of that. Her apartment was very nice; clean, smelled fresh, up to date. There are restaurants and a bakery within walking distance.

5 years into living at The Gardens, our mother is happy and we are confident that she is safe and well cared for. The staff are professional and clearly dedicated to the residents, and the dining team has been outstandingly helpful in providing our mother with vegan meals. The facility appears to be well maintained and clean.

Overall excellent, Garage is difficult for larger vehicles/handicap vehicles. Cluttered and needs cleaning. Littered. Every other public place is well kept and makes a wonderful impression. Very caring and pleasant staff. Overall nicely maintained. Front desk is amazing. Programming is diverse and appears to be well run. I would consider living here

I like what I have seen here and have told my daughter that I want to come to the Gardens when it's my time. I really like Tina and Iggy in Memory Care. All the other caregivers have been nice too. I just haven't talked with them as much. And my friend has gotten so content after coming to memory care. She doesn't have to worry about anything. I don't know how the value is. I haven't asked how much it is.

Leadership staff are highly professional and friendly, committed to care and sense of belonging for residents. 50% of front desk staff is friendly and warm. Would be nice to not have to sign in every time. Can relatives have buttons with names/photos/colors to indicate we are regular visitors? Kitchen staff are hard working and professional. Food is good and you can tell they are trying hard with the shift in chefs. Rooms are tidy and housekeeping staff has good attention to detail. Wellness center staff are friendly. Activities are varied and interesting. May need more brain games and resident interactive activities for tide wanting more social/cognitive challenge. I hear the Lectures are great!

I moved into The Gardens At Town Square. It's lovely. They go from independent to assisted living, to memory care. Everything is spotlessly clean and looked after well. Everybody's very, very, very pleasant. They check on you every morning to make sure you're okay even if I'm in independent living, and the food is great. So everything is good. I haven't got anything to complain about. The staff has been excellent, very, very helpful. It has worked out very, very well. They've got so many things. They've got everything going. There's bridge. I went line dancing yesterday as well, and there were people with walkers. It was low impact, and it was great. There's always something going on, and it's on the elevator to let them know. They have a kitchen, they have a microwave and a stove. It's a lovely kitchen. They have a fridge. I overlook a courtyard. It's lovely. If they can afford it, they shouldn't miss it, because it's extremely nice.

The Gardens at Town Square's rooms were very nice. They had everything, including all the activities. The place was very elegant, and they have a bistro and a very nice library. The food was very good. The place was like a five-star hotel.

The Gardens At Town Square is a very pleasant place. We had lunch there with Tim, the public relations director, and it was very good and the food was excellent. Overall, the rates are pretty high for me. It was a good experience. The activities were great and they had a bus that take people over to Mercer Island for exercise and bathing, which was pretty phenomenal to me. There are things going on during the day, like exercise, or somebody coming in to talk about things that engage people.

I loved The Gardens at Town Square and the feel of the facilities. It felt more welcoming and contemporary, like a nice hotel suite. I really liked the place. I could live there; however, they could improve on providing visitors' parking.

The Gardens at Town Square accommodated my father-in-law. They brought him all three meals during the day at certain times, and he sat there and never left his chair. It caused him to have some type of a bleed inside of his body because he never got up. He never moved around and didn't do anything. It was very highly rated and a guy charged us $600 a month just to bring up his meals to him twice a day. He's been there for about six years. We were told before we put him there that they would be able to assist with his medical needs. If he needed something more medically, they said they would be able to accommodate that, which was not true. The place had a smell. I had lunch with my son-in-law and I couldn't eat. I didn't like it. I'm disappointed in the fact that they got so busy that not everybody knew what everybody was doing. He was having some serious problems, and we kept getting called. Almost every week, Dad was back in the hospital. He was not drinking enough and was dehydrated. The people that were working there were in and out. He was supposed to get his pain meds at 8:00, and we had to run around the establishment looking for the girl that had his medicine to give him his medicine at 8:10. They started off really good. They just didn't have the facility to take care of him.

This is a beautiful facility which they keep spotless. The food is great as well. It is good for those in retiirement who may only need a little help like with dressing, or showers or for those who are independant. However when the needs get greater this is not the place to live. Though the care staff are kind, the administration is not flexible and focuses on their rules rather than meeting the needs of the residents. I moved my family member as a result and now find the care is so much more flexible and meets his needs. I tried regularly to work things out with the staff at the Gardens to no avail. So if your loved one needs assistance it's worth looking elsewhere for your own peace of mind and for their health
