I like Magnolias of Chesterfield. It's very clean. It seems to be very orderly. I think it gives the patients a nice room that is exceptional. I think that from the two, Olney has those two to compare that to. It's certainly the one that I would choose over the other facility. They exercise the people in the morning and give them activities, just the basic stuff that you get. The cost is reasonable, and the people are very pleasant. I think it's a good environment all the way around from what I've seen. I cannot say anything negative about that place. They have an outside patio. The staff was great. I met the director who was the one that introduced me to the tour. I didn't directly meet any of the other staff. The patients seemed to be very pleasant people, sitting in there and watching TV together on a couple of sofas and interacting with one another, it has an airy, light, happy feeling about the place.

My mother is much happier at Magnolias of Chesterfield than where she was. They have a lot of services. She now has a semi-private room. Because she's having difficulty walking and she's usually in a wheelchair, they have her in the room right next to the nurse's station. There's a TV room right nearby. It's got a solarium and a place where she could go outside. They bring in pets once a week, they have bible study once a week, and church services. It seemed like a very nice place, and it's much more spacious than where she was. They're extremely friendly. They have a lot of activities, and it's the best priced place I could find.

Magnolias of Chesterfield is very good. I like the atmosphere, and the price was within my mother's range. It’s a clean and safe place for parents to be taken care of.

Never trust that this facility will properly care for your loved one, especially if they have any form of dementia. They'll make you promises to get you moved in, but when it comes right down to it, they do not follow through. Unless you call the corporate offices of Meridian Senior Living, nothing you ask will be done. They do not take the time to give showers or take people down to the dining hall for meals, or even see to it that patients are getting proper nourishment and hydration. They do NOT cater to specific dietary needs unless you spend the extra money to purchase specific foods, and even then there is no guarantee that it makes it to your family member at mealtime. My loved one was severely dehydrated and became septic to the point of organs shutting down, resulting in death, while in the care of this facility. There are very few people in this facility who truly care about the patients, it's mostly about money and how much they can take. When someone passes away, they will call you the next day and ask you to clean out their room at your earliest convenience so they can get it rented, and will also charge you a per diem for each day post death that items are in the room. I would NEVER place my family member in this facility again.

My sister and I looked at a few facilities when it became necessary to place our mother in hospice/memory care. We found Magnolias to have a warm, caring environment that is clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful and seem to always have activities for the residents. Everyone there seems happy and well cared for. The residents are encouraged to leave their rooms and move freely around the locked, safe facility. They are doing better caring for our mother than we were able to provide at home. We are pleased with the care she is being given.

I visited Magnolias of Chesterfield. The staff was very nice, but the owner was not. I found out that there was a new owner. I had not been there with the new management, so I do not know about the new, but the rooms then were spacious and clean. The environment was very clean. It was just the managers that I did not like. We were considering moving my mother there.

My great aunt stayed at Magnolia's of Chesterfield for a little while. I have nothing but compliments. We had a great stay there, and everyone was very pleasant, professional, friendly, and caring. It was a wonderful experience. They had a dining area, a family room, and a visitation area that you can use for parties. They had a large lobby when you go in.

Mother is doing very well at Magnolias. I chose it for financial reasons and also, I decided to bring her down closer to me. Magnolias is very secluded, nice and quiet and there were not many people in there so they can look out for their patients. As far as the food, she eats all. She would participate now and then with the singing and she made things for last Christmas.
