My mother-in-law chose The Blake at Charlottesville because she liked it best and it was very close to her church where she goes. They also offer a church there and a beauty shop. So, everything she needs is right there. She likes the food and she's eating very well. We had lunch there with her once and that was very good. The staff is all very personable and very friendly. The atmosphere is very open and bright. The place looks clean and very nice. They have tons of activities such as bingo, card games, movie nights, walking, exercise classes every day or every other day, and outings three times a week (if you want to go anywhere, you can take the shuttle bus). The director, the charge nurse, and all have been great. It's a good value for the money.

My friend is staying at The Blake at Charlottesville. What I like best about it is it's very attractive. The physical building is very nice. What I like the least is the care. She is not getting good care. I would say the staff is poorly trained and that's why the care is so poor. Cleanliness is outstanding. The building is new. It was built in the last couple of years. So it's very clean and very attractive. I'd say their activities are pretty good because I know that it has been a good part of my friend's stay there. They've had field trips. They play games. They have craft. They have a variety of exercise programs, all of which are well done. They do bring in music groups.

We liked The Blake at Charlottesville for my mother. It was open. I like the openness, high ceilings, and things like that, which gave a bigger feel to things that my mom, I think, would have liked. I like the people, they were nice and helpful, but just in general the appearance of the facility itself gave -- and almost felt resort-like. The staff was very accommodating, he made you feel very comfortable, his knowledge seemed to be good, and he pretty much answered all of our questions. He's very helpful and knowledgeable and just an easy person to talk to, so it was a very comfortable visit. The room we looked at if she was moving there tomorrow, it was more than one room, which I like. It gave us a situation where you could have a bedroom and a kitchenette area, and then a separate sitting area. It was not huge, obviously, but it was adequate and gave more of a home feel because you had a separation of your bed space and your living space.

We visited The Blake at Charlottesville. and it was very good and was newer. They were clean and welcoming. It was a nice facility. The staff was really nice. We did not interact much with them, but the lady that took us on the tour and answered our questions was very helpful. I would recommend this one. This was our second choice. The rooms were a bit smaller though. It has not been opened as long as the other facility, so we did not feel that it would have as big a track record for being a good facility. We liked it.
