My mother is in Carlin Springs Health & Rehabilitation in Arlington. The nursing staff is very attentive, and they've been very proactive about communication. I have very high marks for the staff. It's an older facility, but they got a lot of stuff that they've done to make it capable of being a memory care facility. It's a single room, single bed, and it's a good size for one person. They have an activities director who's actively trying to get my mother engaged in things all the time. I know they've been trying to get her involved in music, in going to church, and in other interactions with other patients. They gave me a list of all the things they are trying to get her into.

I have been a resident at Carlin Springs twice. The facility is nice and clean. The nursing staff is pleasant. The social workers are very attentive. I would refer the facility to my friends and family.

My 95-year-old mother was recently diagnosed with covid and had to do a short stint in the hospital. After a couple of days, they released her to go to rehab. The only location that would take her was Manor Care. We had not heard good things, but our hands were tied. What we encountered there was even worse than expected. After a day or two of arriving and finding my mother sitting in wet underclothes, my sister – her main caregiver promptly brought her back to her home so that she could provide...

I am going to give Manor Care Arlington the benefit of the doubt and say that the Covid pandemic has affected all health care facilities for the worse. Having said that, I did not find this facility to be at an acceptable standard. It is not OK not to provide towels for a patient. Only paper towels were provided for my husband. It is not OK not to respond to call buttons within a reasonable time, especially when someone is a known fall risk. It is not OK not to help get a patient up in the ...

Son place there 12/14 for rehab fromCancer Treatments! Starving him with pureed food when he had been working and eating regular food before being place there! Taking him real food everyday was a problem and expensive, but he ate it and begian to show improvement! Placed him on regular food-comes cold all the time! No one will microwave it for him! Myself or my sister do it for him when we are there! She is crippled and myself on my way back to Florida! He is slowly going down hill again!...

I have waited a while to share this. My father in law was transferred here in January after having a covid-related seizure. We were not allowed to see him but were told he was doing well. After five day he was diagnosed as malnourished and dehydrated. They missed the fact he could not swallow. He was transferred to the hospital. He was elderly and wore dentures. They disappeared somewhere in the transfer...both the hospital and Manor Care denied knowing anything about them. I was allowe...

My in law is a current resident! There is one staff member, Gloria, who is helpful to our family but when she is not there zoom calls/visits do not happen. They dropped my relative off at a medical faculty in Tyson’s in a cab and left him sitting there ALONE in the lobby, in his wheelchair holding a sign with his name on it. The saddest thing to see a dementia patient all alone in a busy medical facility. When I called to inquire how to get him home from the appt, no one at manor care knew how h...

I was at this facility for 3weeks. This is the worst place to put anyone in the staff is very rude. I had two men nurse aide that really cares about their patiences. The nurse don't give you your medicine on time. I have wait 40 minutes our longer for a nurse to come and see what is the problem. The place is dirty and the food is nasty.

My brother is a resident at Manor Care Arlington and this place is very unprofessional and uncaring. I would never recommend anyone to use this nursing home for any family member or friend. You can never get in touch with anyone except the receptionist, and a Dr. or nurse is never available to speak to you about your family member's care. I can't wait to get my brother out of this place this week and at least his and our family nightmare of entrusting a nursing home will be over. This place ...

This place is terrible. My father spent one week at Manor Care and his care went from bad to worse. Staff is rude and inattentive. Food is horrible and the place is filthy. Don't ever use this facility.

This place is horrible. I have been here a few hours, and I want to transfer. First I was never given a welcome package, and later I find out, they really don't know how to welcome you. The place smells pretty bad. For someone like myself, who has good humor, very happy and high spirited, it will immediately take you to a depression state. The staff is horrible. Not friendly, they seem to work for a paycheck, not because they like or love what they do. This is bad. As a patient, whether long, o...

Highly recommended rehab center. My Father was a Patient post surgery. All the staff were very welcoming. Excellent service from the representative that my wife and I met at the Sentara. She was able to assess my father and answer all our questions, it made the transition from the hospital to the rehab centre very easy. The nursing staff did such a fantastic job with making sure that my father was well accommodated and made each of our visits like we were family. The physical therapy is excelle...

This was a horrible experience for my relative and our family. Avoid at all costs. Absolutely abysmal facility. I would give it zero stars if possible. My relative was kept in a soiled diaper ALL day - then wiped with a paper towel. They missed out on his medication several times. Doctor and most staff are rude and indifferent. They don't show up when called. They don't monitor the patient's health. The meals are served at all hours and dietician didn't pay attention to special requirements. ...

Food is pretty good. The nurses and aides are kind but very overworked. Need more staff. A big shoutout to the therapists, physical, occupational, and speech. First class professionals! The facility itself is old and not in tip top shape, although the maintenance staff works very hard to keep it up. The administrative staff, at least those I dealt with directly, were terrible. The discharge planner (social worker) on my case was really incompetent. Rude, overbearing, condescending, and l...

If I could give this place a zero, I would do so. This Manor Care facility has changed management and their current way of business and healthcare is beyond NON PROFESSIONAL and NON-CARING. There is a major lack of responsiveness to check on residents, unwelcoming desire to assist in family's concerns, and MAJOR short staff to attend to patients/residents. You will never speak to the attending doctor, but rather receive messages through various nurses or aids who do not want to provide the...

This place needs to be redone inside! It is dirty, dark and smells! No one would want have a loved one stay here or have to stay here himself/herself. The one good thing about it is the physical therapists are top notch. I would like to give the therapists five stars and some of the nurses/aids strong marks for being kind. There were others though who didn't seem like they wanted to be there at all! They have the patients lie in pee pads that are changed periodically but not often enough! ...

My mother was at ManorCare Health Services-Arlington for about a month during rehab the first time. I would not recommend it, and that is why I did not put her back in there. They were not responsive at all when you push the call buttons. I even had an instance where I was trying to help my mom get dressed, she lost her footing, I ended up with her on the floor and pushed the call button, and nobody showed up for about 30 minutes. I don't think that they had enough staff. Their rehab was really ...

This place is one of the worst that we visited. It's very dirty, with stains on the floors, nasty bathrooms with urine on the toilets and on the floor, no soap in the dispenser, and dirty tables for dining. On top of the conditions, the workers were all very rude and acted like it was a bother if you asked them something. I would never recommend this place.
