My mother goes to Leewood for respite. I have nothing but good things to say about them! They take care of my mom, she loves being with them. She's always happy to see everyone and her friends! She participates in activities, she eats very well there and she has fun! My mother is a stroke patient, she is unable to speak many words as well as use her right arm. They are always assisting her and making her comfortable! Amy- the director, always goes beyond the call of duty. She runs a wonderful place, and it shows by the caring nature of her staff! When my mother is in their care, I literally have nothing to worry about! They are our second family, and I am truly blessed to have them in our lives.

My dad was at Leewood Healthcare Center for a month. They seemed friendly enough, and they took care of him. They met all of his needs. He just did not need to be there any more than a month. It seemed like a good enough place. There are two people in each room, and it was more like a hospital room. There was not really a lot of space in there. They had activities, physical therapy, and different things for the people there.

My mother was in Leewood back in November for about a month, which she hated. It's right across the street from my house. The biggest problem there is bad management. There's not a lot of consistency there, and it wasn't the place for mom. She was much more high functioning than the people there. The people stay a month then leave, and that's a problem. The place was clean. She had a room with a bathroom, and that was about it. It was like a hospital room. The food was average. Some of the staff were helpful; some weren't. They did have a good activities director at that time who tried to do different things. They didn't take them out, but they did crafty things and exercise.

My father was at leewood day care center about a year ago. He had gotten sick to where I felt he needed to be watch 24/7 and I was not longer able to stay home with him. To be honest I didn't feel right placing him into a home full time but I did need someone to watch him during the day. Leewood was close and to my job so it was easy to drop him off and pick him up day to day. He was able to interact with other people his age and from what I seen it they had some nice games for the older folks to play. He seemed to enjoy it, of course he'll rather I be with him but being that I had to work he understood. I would recommed leewood, the staff is friendly and communicated well if I had any question's or concerns.

I was finally able to find a place for my Mother to go to. I got her into an Assisted Living Facility just 2 weeks ago. I ended up choosing Leewood for her in Annandale, Virginia. They had exactly what I needed. They got accommodation assisted living and transition to nursing home as well. What really stood out to me is that they offer a subsidized badge. Since she doesn't have a lot of money, they got her into a spend down program and she will be able to go on Medicaid after her money runs out. I really like the place. Again, they had exactly what it is I was looking for for my Mom. I didn't wanna have to put her somewhere else and if she need to be transitioned to a nursing home, I don't have to start the process all over again. From their accommodations, to their environment, to food, to their rooms, I got nothing to say but good things to them. I am totally impressed with the place.
