Rosehaven wanted $1,000 a month, plus a $250 deposit. The people were not very friendly and really didn't act like they wanted to assist, to be honest. Just about everybody in the entire place was a mental case, so there's a lot of very crazy people in there. The building was probably about 90 years old, so after a few minutes I told, "I can't do it, I'm out of here." It was a very pathetic and horrible place. I wouldn't live there, and there's no way I would even consider it. The guy who talked to me first was nice, then he shifted me over to the manager of that unit, and she was having trouble finding my hospital records, and they had to have those before they could admit me, and it was obvious that she didnt know what she was doing. She was eating and talking on her cellphone to people. Nobody was the right person there, nothing was happening, and I wasn't feeling anything good.

My son lives there part time, but pays full time rates. They have a problem with people stealing from the residents. I am very unhappy. My son has had a high school class ring stolen, clothes stolen, CD/radio/player stolen, and numerous other things stolen. Just recently an expensive Radio/cassette/CD player was stolen and when my son reported it to staff nothing was done. This is not acceptable. I have spoken to staff about this in the past with very little done about the problem by staff. The only time anything was recovered it was recovered by another resident. The manager cares about the residents;I am not sure that the owner does. There are good staff members there but they can't be everywhere and they are understaffed.
