My mom has been in Sunshine Senior Living for three weeks now. She is in the assisted living. The good thing about them is that it is a small facility -- there are only five residents -- so there's a lot more one-on-one care. She has the ability to go out onto an outdoor patio area where she is able to plant a little garden. The facility is a home on an acre and a half, so it's a lot more personal. The downside of it is that there are no activities of any kind to stimulate them or interact with anyone. Most of the residents who are there are in much poorer condition than my mom, so it makes it really hard for her. So far, I would say the staff is wonderful. They have been very good, very caring, and very helpful. There is no menu from what I have seen or heard from my mom. It's kind of bland and boring, and there are a lot of soups. There is no specific menu. It's just whatever the two ladies who work there choose to make for them. They serve a lot of soups, hot dogs, and pizza. There is not a whole lot of variety or really tasty food. There is a piano that the manager occasionally comes in and plays, but other than that, there are no activities and nothing to really do other than go out on the patio and plant some plants, and that's only because my mom wants to do it. There is a TV for them to sit and watch. It is good. It doesn't have everything that I would like to have for her, but no place has that. The same two ladies are the ones who do the house cleaning, provide the food, and do the laundry. It's the same two ladies who take care of everything there. They are both very good and very caring. The place is kept very clean. it is pretty expensive. It is $5000 a month, but I would say that it's probably about on par with everything else. The owner and manager is a gentle and very nice man. He does his best, but it would be nice to add some activities of some type for the residents.

We love Sunshine Senior Living. It is fabulous. The owners are wonderful. It is a home and so my mom gets her own bedroom and a half bath. She is not stuck in her bedroom; they come and get her. She has been part of their family room. For her situation, it is fabulous. It can't get any better. I have not tried the food, but my mother tells me that it is wonderful. She said the food is good. The staff members are kind. They're wonderful with her, and they're patient with the residents. If residents want to participate in activities, they do have things. They'll play games and cards. They have an outdoor space that they can use. However, to be quite honest, the ones that are there now are more like my mom, and they don't want anything to do with any of that. They just want to sit and watch TV as much as they can. The place is very nice and super clean.

Sunshine Senior Assisted Living was extremely nice and very roomy, but it was much higher in price than other places. The staff seemed very nice. My feeling there was that you were becoming a part of their home; it was like living in their house and becoming a part of their family.
