I'm in Emerald Cottages of Round Rock. What I like the best is the safe environment here because it's not a large unit. We're like off the beaten path, so I can go out and walk anytime. I don't have to worry that people would just be walking up and knocking on my door or something like that. The neighbors are really friendly. We have a clubhouse. We have community activities, but we don't have the access to a swimming pool. We don't have a lot of the amenities that the apartments do. We don't have an exercise room or whatever. But we have gatherings at the clubhouse, and we have people who come in and do different things like speakers that provide us with information and stuff like that. I just like living here, but I was trying to lower my living expenses. The staff is great. They're very accommodating and very attentive. The handyman is always available to take care of anything that goes wrong. I don't have a problem at all with the staff. I prepare my own meals. But every first Wednesday of the month, we get a complimentary meal that's catered, and then they provide meals on Wednesdays the rest of the month. There's a small charge for that. I don't have a problem with that. I prefer it that way. I have my own kitchen and I cook for myself. I know some of the apartments have a chef that provides meals three times a day, but that wouldn't work for me. The only thing I have a problem with right now is the lawn. I think they are having problems getting good help to keep up the lawns. I'm not happy with that part, but everything else is clean. The clubhouse is clean. The streets are clean and everything. In terms of activities, there's not too much they can do because they have a clubhouse which doesn't allow for activities that need some space. But the activities that they provide are OK. We get a calendar, and they have like movies, games, and coffee and donuts. They might have a person come in and do some type of performance like sing a song and things like that. If somebody is looking for a lot of activities or physical things to do, they won't find it here.

We liked Emerald Cottages of Round Rock very much, except for the fact they didn't have any trees. But the condos and everything were beautiful and very well laid out for seniors. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very helpful and very nice. She showed us everything we wanted and answered all of our questions. She did a good job. Those cottages should be the way they make cottages for seniors. I have never seen one laid out so well. The size of the rooms was good, the size of the living area and the dining area was really good. The kitchen was nice. The garage was a little oversized, which I liked. There wasn't anything I didn't like about the cottage itself. We didn't like the grounds because there were no trees, but the cottages themselves were excellent.

Emerald Cottages of Round Rock was great. It really was. It was a nice place. It looked brand new. The room I saw was excellent. It had a large kitchen, a large bathroom, an amazing number of closets, and one closed garage with extra space there. Utilities were covered, but not Wifi. It also had a large patio. The salesperson was very upfront and very nice. She paid attention to what I wanted. We talked about the pros and the cons. She was very straightforward and looked to fill my needs.

I toured Emerald Cottages of Round Rock. It was just right for what you need. There's really nothing there, it's just independent living. It had nice and big apartments, and you had your own garage. They don't really offer anything there. They may have some get-togethers but maybe not too often. The staff was great, and I really enjoyed being with them.

I toured the Emerald Cottages of Round Rock for my parents, and it was very nice. It was very well laid out, and I really like the cottage. It was accessible, and easy for someone who might have needs. I'd rate them a four because they provide meals one day a week and not seven days a week. They were very helpful, very friendly and they seem to be very caring. The place was very nice, and it looks like they do a good job of keeping it up.

I was very impressed with Emerald Cottages of Round Rock. The rooms were very ample and well put together. I liked the floor plan and the closets. The rooms were good sized. I liked the privacy. If I could afford it, I'd move there in a minute. It's independent living. I entered in the main area where there were tables and there were a lot of residents sitting there. I was introduced to them, and they were very friendly, and welcoming. The one who showed me through was really great. I liked the atmosphere. I am very active, but it certainly would be nice to live someplace where you feel at home. They had some activities, but it's not like a community that had theaters, libraries, and crafts. They play cards and do activities in one room. There was a little kitchenette in the room, but they don't provide meals. It's not that type of situation. The staff was very outgoing, very friendly and welcoming, made me feel as though if I chose to move in, that I would be an addition to the community. She showed me all the rooms and everything, and let me take my time in looking. We sat down and talked and she answered all the questions that I had. She was very good. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the newness of the cottage and the facilities. It didn't appear old like some of the places that I went to. The outside was very pristine. Nothing was junky.

I've moved into Emerald Cottages of Round Rock. I am very happy with it. The staff members are great. They don't have a whole lot of activities, just a little bit. They don't provide food. So far, I am very happy. They're new. My apartment is like a house with a full kitchen, a big living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a porch. Communication is very good.
