My mom is at The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living. The main thing we liked was that they had meals for her because we didn't want her to cook. We wanted her to be independent but with meals. It was just centrally located for my siblings. There's always room for improvement, but they do a very nice job there. The staff members are very caring and sweet people. They're very good people. I haven't run into anything that displeases me. My mom's diabetic, and they don't have a diabetic menu. At every meal, there are three choices. They just put in new furniture and carpeting. They come in once a week and clean my mom's apartment. They change the sheets and make the bed. My mom is happy. They do arts and crafts, chair volleyball, yoga, and lots of different activities that my mom likes. They're very expensive.

The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living is very nice and well-maintained. The rooms are rather spacious compared to what I was expecting. They are very nice, too. They have indoor hallways which are great, making it easy for my mom to get around and not have to go outside. The staff members are very friendly and are always assisting. They have card games, board games, and movie nights. They have a day full of activities. The dining area is very good. We had one meal there and it was good, well balanced, and tasty. My mom eats there three times a day, which is something we couldn't get her to do at home. So obviously the food is very good. She is eating more frequently now that she is there. They change the menu every day. The facility is well-maintained, beautiful, and very accommodating.

I stayed at The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living. The people were very nice and very pleasant. The staff was outstanding, but the food was terrible. There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied throughout the day. They were without a leader while I was there, but the fill-in leaders did a great job. The activities were a strong suit of The Oaks. They had a very nice library and a very pleasant chapel. The gym is limited to some extent, but it provides some very advanced equipment. There's a garden with raised beds. It has a lot of promise. Just about anything that anybody wants to do, they can make a suggestion and do it. There are a lot of volunteer activities. It's a little bit expensive, but it's by far the least expensive here in Georgetown because the area is so inflated.

We liked The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living, but it was not a full assisted living, and so the insurance would not cover it. It was beautiful inside. The staff members were extremely friendly, and it just catered to my grandmother's needs. They had a coffee bar, they had a movie theater, they had a beauty shop, they had walking areas within there, and they had exercising. They had a lot of activities. They gave us food, and my grandmother was very, very impressed with it. They sent us home with food. I didn't eat it, but my grandmother did, and she was very pleased with it. They sent her home with banana bread and zucchini bread, and I think she had coffee and some fruit.

I have visited The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living. We saw the bedrooms, all of the activity rooms, and some of the people. We had dinner there a couple of times, and the food is very good. It's well presented, and the employees are courteous. They have fun activities and different kinds of parties. They have a bus to take you to the grocery and the doctor. The dining hall is very good -- maybe even a little monotonous, but that might be the case with all of them. They have bingo, dominoes, crafts of all kinds, a library, and videos you can check out and take to your home. It's quite nice. The furnishings are beautiful too. They have a full-time chef.

We toured The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living in Georgetown, and during the tour we were able to see the apartments that were available. The Oaks is a place that is a small community, but it's not a major, huge corporate community. We looked at smaller family home places, but they were awful, so we decided that we need to go with a corporate community that at least would listen to concerns. It's not a huge community, but it has everything that we needed, and my sister's going to be happy there. It has a beautiful back patio and a beautifully landscaped garden. Inside, it has arts and crafts activities, and an activities director. It has a kitchen where people can cook if they want family members over. It has fun games to help enhance brain activities. There is a theatre where they show two movies a day. It has beautiful and clean common areas. It has beautifully landscaped and very clean apartments. It is independent living, so my sister has to do her laundry herself, which she was very happy about. You don't have to pay for laundry. The apartment gets scrubbed down once a week; vacuumed, dusted, and washed. They put in new, fresh towels every week, they change the bed, and they provide the linens. The staff was so nice, and they were just so caring. We got this referral from an attorney that we spoke with. She was so happy with it because she has a relative that stays there. The staff was so wonderful. They are all willing to help make this a positive experience.

My mother just moved to The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living, but so far it's been very good. She's in a studio, but it's spacious. It has a mini kitchen and it's very nicely done. We're very happy with it. They have activities every weekday. They have a very nice open dining area; it's like a restaurant type.

My overall experience living in The Oaks Gracious Retirement is very good. The building is three stories with a hundred something residents, and nice amenities. They have a bus, and my studio room is really spacious. It has a kitchen, a full refrigerator and freezer, and my own bathroom. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is very responsive to problems. They would also do renovations if you want some additions or some amenities. The staff is generally responsive and very friendly. We have generally very good meals. There are sports activities, contests, different card games and activities several times a week or sometimes twice a day. They have a small shop onsite with basic things that you might need.

I visited The Oaks. It is a lovely place. It is a brand-new place. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very, very nice. I like this place very much. They have gathering places along the hallways where people can do jigsaw puzzles or any number of other things. The atmosphere was lovely.

The Oaks is brand new; it's only been there for six or eight months. It was nice, all outstanding, and very first-class with nothing bad about it. The dining area was great. The food was good, too. It's five stars but just not what I'm looking for.
