Everything that I saw at Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch was pretty good. They had a beauty salon and they had a lot of activities that they were doing. They had a pool and the rooms were nice. The staff showed me everything, gave me all the information, and answered all of my questions. The facility was really clean and it didn't smell bad or anything.

We have signed a lease with Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch. Its location for the family and its cleanliness are the reasons why we chose them. The people were wonderful, the staff members were wonderful, and all of the residents were active. They had bingo going on while we were there. They had an outing. A group was getting together on a bus and leaving. There was a lot of good energy and a good feeling in the environment. The maintenance staff was friendly. Everyone greeted my dad, from the concierge to the representative that helped us and showed us around, to one of the other directors that came in. It was very legitimate and genuine.

The representative at Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She took her time. The facility was very clean with spacious apartments. It was very convenient. I liked everything about it. They had tons of activities. The residents all seemed very, very happy. Their meals looked very delicious and well thought out. I liked all of their floor plans, and they had a van for transportation. I just couldn't afford it right now.

Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch was very nice. It was a much larger facility, and they had a lot more residents compared to the other ones I visited. They had a lot of things to offer. They had a swimming pool and a small dog park. It was also adjacent to a nice walking trail that had a lake. The apartments were nice. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very good.

I was able to tour Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch, it's a nice facility. It's beautiful, but I thought that the 1-bedroom apartment was very small for the price. They have a lot of amenities, but for the price, I couldn't live there. It was very small that I couldn't even get my furniture in on the 1-bedroom. It was about 625 square feet and the price was $1,999. They also had a larger 1-bedroom but the price was outrageous and I couldn't afford to live there. Even with the $75 meal credit that they give you, it's very expensive. It doesn't even cover parking, so you just have to park where you can. They charge $40 if you want a carport parking, $75 a month if you'd like a detached garage, and $150 more a month for an attached garage. I went out on the tiny little patio and realized they didn't have storage, and they said that they charge extra for storage. We passed by and people were eating lunch, someone comes by to take their orders, and the food looked really good and smelled good. The lady that gave the tour was very nice, and I also met the director. They took me to a conference room and told me all about the place, and the director came in and he spoke with me. They were very personable, very cordial, and very welcoming. They have an indoor pool that's 4 ½ feet, they have a bi-weekly housekeeping and linen service, they have an aerobic's club, they serve continental breakfast and they have door-to-door trash pickup. They also have an outdoor heated pool, they have a media lounge, they have a salon, and they have massage therapy, but you have to pay for that. They have a card room, a fitness center, and a library that's not very big but it's nice. There's a dog park, they have a nice dining room, and they have a lot of activities. They have an expansive calendar that they put out every month with all the activities. They have washer and dryer connections, but they said I can also bring my own washer and dryer. They showed me two different 1-bedroom sizes, a large and a small. One of them had room for a full-size washer and dryer, and the other one had room for a stackable washer and dryer.

Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch was very nice and everything looked new. They had a lot of activities that someone my age would enjoy, so they had lots to do. I had two issues with them. One was their distance; they were 18 miles away from my daughter and that was a little bit much, especially in rush hour. Also, they play games with the number of meals a day you were given, it wasn't clear about their meal program. They assigned you a certain number of tokens to use. You were given a monthly allotment of tokens and then you went and you spent these tokens for food. That to me is playing a game, and that didn't go over very well. We got there at 11:00 to tour and there was no offer of food, so we went to a local restaurant. They have full kitchens, which include the microwave range type of arrangement, and they also have hookups for a full-size laundry. They have courtyards.

I visited this facility

I went and visited Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch in person. It was exceptional. That day, I got a brochure and I didn't walk into any specific room but in our session, I got to see the floor plans through the paper copy. I got to walk the facility where they have dinner time and got to see the activities that they were performing with the seniors there. They have a nice place, are very modern, and secure. I was kind of impressed with what I saw, but I didn't see any rooms on that visit just due to the time of day that I arrived. They had the little hospitality room where I got to meet and spoke with a representative. She showed me a few floor plans and we walked up to the main lobby. At that time, they were serving dinner, it was in the afternoon, and I got to see how the individuals were engaging with the residents there. I was quite impressed that everyone was in a good mood and upbeat at the time that I was there because it was a Friday night. That, for me, spoke volumes. That everyone was comfortable with their surroundings and it appeared very secure given that we were still doing a COVID-19 thing. The aide that I spoke with was very knowledgeable and stated that they're very user-friendly. They even asked me to contact them later as soon as I got a ballpark of how much my parents could afford because they said they could work with us to find a space for them that would fit their budget. I was quite pleased with it. They spent 30 to 45 minutes with me before I departed. My parents are looking for an independent living. They don't need any assistance at this time.

The person that we first contacted at Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch was very knowledgeable. She listened well so that you didn't have to waste your time listening to things that you don't need. She went right to the center. The prices are not outrageous. The program that I have picked really feels like it's going to meet my needs. As far as the building, it's a very well-kept place, and it looked brand new. I took my eldest son there and he was very impressed too. It's also very near the medical facilities that I deal with. So, I don't have to go out and find new doctors. I haven't had a meal there yet, but the menus that I looked at were very healthy, and that's something that I have not been able to do as much as I would want to, because of the virus going around. Knowing that I'm going to be eating healthier is going to make a big difference in my husband's life and mine, not having to forage for food. They practice very good health protocols like wearing a mask, sanitizing, etc., so it just seemed like the right place for me. We are going to have a three-bedroom, and the third bedroom is actually called a bedroom-study. It fits our needs, because we are not downsizing completely and squeezed into a two-bedroom apartment. When you're coming from a comfortable home, that third space for two people can really make a difference. There's so much to rebuild after the storm, and I'm just kind of disappointed in how slow they are in getting their apartment ready, because, in my mind, I should have already been in two weeks ago, but it is what it is.

Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch was very clean, and the living spaces were nice. There was one floor plan in particular that my mom really liked, and the lady who took us around, Brianna, was very nice. She had different packages that would meet all of my mom's needs, like garages, carpet, or something else. They just had a lot of different options that we could customize to her needs. It was comforting because what she's afraid of is living and going from a 4000 square foot house on the river to an 800 square foot apartment and not knowing what to do with herself. Our visit made her feel like she could actually live in a place like that. They have activities, clubs, and just a lot of different things that she needs. The property's location is also great. It's right in the middle of Pearland, where she goes all the time to go shopping and to her doctor. It was very nice.

I visited Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch, and I have another appointment with them. I like the facility. I didn't quite like the apartment that they showed me. I just looked at the independent living side. The environment, the grounds, the facility, everything was really neat, clean, and inviting. It really encompassed everything that someone would need who is looking for an independent living situation. They had a social calendar second to none, so there are many activities that they offer. What was really impressive was the dining situation. They have a formal dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have a bistro, but the dining room is set up like any restaurant. They have a full scale menu that you can order from. There is an allowance that they give you a month, but if you go over, you can certainly purchase things on your own. The staff that I interacted with was awesome. She was really patient, took her time to answer all my questions, gave an excellent tour, made me feel very welcome, and has followed up with me to see if the apartment that I was shown was inadequate or if I would be interested in anything else onsite, but the site as a whole offers an awful lot.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother went to Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch. She has been there for a week now. The community is a mid-rise building. It's relatively new; it's about four years old. It's close to a lot of other facilities, stores, and restaurants. Now that we are post COVID, they're just really beginning to open up with some different social events, but right now, it's more of a hotel-versus-motel-type environment. The people there are older, but they are pretty independent. So far, so good. She liked this place; she thought it was nice. The apartments are big. They have washers and dryers in the apartment. They're a good size, and they're new. She likes it because it didn't include three meals a day. She doesn't eat three meals a day, and she didn't want to pay for something she wasn't going to use. They have a beauty salon and an indoor and outdoor pool. They have recreation. It's just now starting to open up a little bit more with other events. They have a library, a very nice courtyard, a garden area, croquet, and an indoor pool where they roll up the clear garage doors when the weather is nice so they can have water aerobics all year. They have barbecues, outdoor seating, and parking. They even have some parking garages or carport-type areas. It's still independent living, but it's not so independent that there's no activity. The food is not as good as we had hoped, but the staff is very nice and very accommodating.

Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch looks like a great place to stay. It's just not affordable for us. It's clean, it has a friendly staff, and the amenities were good. They have activities and meals; I saw a variety.

I like Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch's activities for seniors. They're fully independent and close to my house. The only thing is that they're purely independent and my dad needs a little bit of assistance, plus they're a little bit too pricey. The tour was fantastic and the place itself was very clean. The person who gave me the tour was knowledgeable. They also have unique activities, like they invite people to go there to present different types of products or do different activities. I saw the menu and the food seemed very good. They have a free range of food there. The atmosphere of the place was very homey. Their dining room was very nice. Their rooms were really nice and roomy. It's basically an apartment and very comfortable for anybody.

I liked Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch. They have good amenities, but they don't have as many as the other community we visited. I liked the size of the rooms. We saw 1- and 2-bedroom units and they were fine. I liked the staff, and I liked everything about the place.

I chose the Watercrest at Shadow Creek. It just opened up recently and in fact the particular unit that I chose is not even ready yet. I am definitely decided about moving Larry there. I thought that if he would be one of the first people to move there you don’t have to worry about what happened in that particular apartment or anything like that. It is in a prime location, and the hospital is right across the street, and then they have a visiting physician once a week. He has a tendency to fall, but I don’t have to worry about him falling because they have an alert necklace that is a one-time payment to use it. It was near to the shopping district, so if he wants to shop it is right there, and everything is in close proximity to the highway. It was a good find and we had a good time. I just feel like, genuinely, the people are really nice, and that is why I picked it. They talk to me about certain things, and they keep me in the loop. I am never in the dark about anything.
