My relative was a resident in the memory-care floor of this facility for about six months. The facility is very nice, and the staff is very dedicated. But their fall-prevention program is deficient. They had an epidemics of falls. Eventually, my relative also had a serious fall, which required hospitalization. I decided then to move her to another facility, which has a much more vigorous fall-prevention plan.

The rooms at The Village At Southampton were pretty nice. The staff I met were also nice. They had a terrace, a swimming pool, an exercise room, a restaurant, a movie room, and a social area. It's clean and their facilities were nice, but their price, for me, was a little bit too high.

The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town.

I visited The Village of Southampton about six weeks ago. I liked the fact that they had three levels of care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's all in one building. It's a high-rise building. They had activities for the people who live there. Everything was provided. They give you a list of activities for the whole month. Everything looked perfect. Everything was perfect. I saw an apartment, the dining room, the different rooms where they have activities, and I saw the vehicle that carries the people wherever they want to go. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they seem to be happy there. The staff who showed me around was very professional. I didn't try the food and seeing the menus, it looked very good. And they will take care of special diets.
