After the decision was made that my dad was ready for senior living I researched all my different options starting with the Fordham at Silverlake. From the moment we pulled up we both knew this was the place. After meeting with Saja and touring the facility, my dad and I decided right there and then this was the place. I canceled the rest of our other tours. My dad has enjoyed being there immensely and I’m totally at peace knowing that he’s in great hands.I love to visit because I feel like I’m entering a five-star hotel. The facility is very clean, modern, bright, and cheerful. Also, the staff is very friendly and professional. I strongly recommend the Fordham at Silverlake for any of your loved ones!

I'm still at Fordham at Silverlake. What I like the best about this place is the fact that everybody has to be 55 and older to live here, and it's so peaceful and quiet. And they got activities. Most of the seniors that live here, can all get around. There are a few people there that on walkers, but other than that, it's like a regular apartment complex but it's only seniors. One of the main things that everybody's concerned about is, that because of the way it's set up, you can't knock on the door from the outside. You go through the doors, and those doors, you have to have a key or whatever to get in, but those doors have been down for more than eight months. They keep saying that their vendor doesn't have the parts, and that's a concern and is pissing everybody off. Plus, we don't have security there. And then when something goes wrong, maintenance-wise, they don't have anybody there. It takes them forever to get to you if it's an emergency. So those are two things that are the biggest things that I don't like. They need more staff. They have one maintenance man for 90 units, and he's not even a general electrician, plumber, or anything. He just does the best you can do, but he's by himself, and he can't do all of that. If you're going to be a leader of anything, you have to serve the people, protect the people, honor the people, and communicate with the people. The first manager we had, she did all that. But this one, she's so wishy-washy. The amenities are great. We have a swimming pool. Everybody cooks for themselves.

I've visited The Fordham at Silver Lake, it's a very nice community. It's beautiful, it's brand-new, it's not even a year old. There are lots of amenities there. At first, I thought it was kind of pricey but when I started comparing them to others, I realized the price was about average. The unit was kinda small, but again when I started comparing, it's not that small compared to some of the places I've seen. It's a nice place and I could see myself living there. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful and very personable. The place itself was beautiful and brand-new, it's a gorgeous place. It's a gated community, they have a nice banquet room, a fitness place, a nice pool, they have an outdoor grilling area, and they had a little reading area. There's also valet trash pick up, and then they have extra things like a massage area, and some things included that are extra. They had a craft room, they had elevators, and they have nice amenities.
