My mother-in-law has moved into The Blake at New Braunfels. Everything has been great. The food has not been so great though. She does not like the food. My husband says the food was okay. It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. The building itself is beautiful. My mother-in-law has a corner room. It's very nice. The community is very friendly.

I like everything about The Blake at New Braunfels. It was my number one choice for the room size, staffing, and the upkeep of the building. It's also brand new. It's about 2 years old, so that's good. What I liked least about it was that the availability of the room wasn't what I needed. Everything was perfect about this place. I liked it so much. The atmosphere was very congenial. There's a lot of lighting from all the windows around the building in the common areas. The dining room was excellent. The layout was excellent.

We looked at the memory care area at The Blake at New Braunfels. It was very, very clean. The staff was very accommodating. The residents were engaged in activities. The food was great. They even had a separate café for visitors. They had an exercise center. They had an excellent facility. It was beyond any expectations. The dining area was lovely. It was very nice. The room we looked at was like an efficiency apartment. It was a bit smaller, but very nice and clean. The facility is brand new practically. They have an enclosed courtyard, too.

I had my mother here for 13 months. She has now passed away. The care she got was phenomenal!! They staff is very caring and love their residents. In her last days they nurses were always on top of everything. The caregivers would visit everyday. Some would sit with her off the clock. The nurses explained everything she was going thru and would give us total privacy. We were included in every activity that the facility offered. I can't mention just one employee because they were great. I would highly encourage anyone to consider The Blake for their love ones.

The Blake at New Braunfels was one of the places I toured. It was very expensive but it was beautiful inside, it's nice. They had nice cafeterias and everything. It was a beautiful place and the cafeteria was very nice, where you get food and everything. But it felt very prim and proper, and this place was so big and I didn't see that many residents or activities. The staff that I met were nice. They said that they have really good food and I wouldn't doubt it. This facility is top-notch and very new.

I visited The Blake at New Braunfels, but it was probably not an option for us because it didn't offer enough assistance that my mother-in-law needed. But the facility was gorgeous. It was new and it was just really a beautiful facility. The room was very nice. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. The only thing that I thought was a little bit different was they didn't have a shower that you could just roll a wheelchair into. It had a little bit of a lip on it. They had beautiful outdoor spaces. They had a big gazebo area. They had an area with music playing all the time. The staff who assisted me was fabulous, knowledgeable, and very attentive.

I visited every elder care in New Braunfels area and decided on the Blake. My husband has been there for over a year. I can't say enough good things about the facility, food, cleanliness, or the staff. They are all friendly and caring. If you ask a question, or share a concern, the staff gets on it immediately. They ask for feedback and do everything they can to assist you and your loved ones. The programs are designed for memory care and they have lots of activities. They encourage family to attend all events. The last open house was wonderful. I suggest to all interested, just look at the Facebook pictures, go visit, and ask a lot of questions. I'm sure the Blake will recommend any family member to also speak with you.

I went yesterday and visited The Blake at New Braunfels. I like it, so for right now, that is my first choice. It was very new. Just the aesthetic of it, it was really pretty. As soon as I got there, someone came and sat down with me and went over what I felt like we were looking for and what our needs were. We had a complete walkthrough including their physical therapy and occupational therapy. There are people there all the time, the fact that they have a nurse on staff there. I just felt like there was a lot there that would be helpful for my father's needs. I liked them a lot. All the appliances were provided, all the units had kitchenettes, and I felt like there was enough storage. The staff walked the whole place with me including all the activity rooms and movies. It was a really beautiful place. She was very kind. She listened to all my needs, and she explained everything. If you're going to try to sell something, she was perfect. I didn't stay and eat and that was fine, but she explained to me that families are welcome to come and have meals with their family members if they are there. I looked at all the menus, I went online, and it showed what the options should you not choose that day's menu. There are also alternative menus and how they worked. Other things were out when I went there. Like in the dining area, there were fresh fruits, cookies, or some type of snacks. They have alternatives there if you don't choose to eat what's on the menu. I thought it was very good. It is the number one choice because I was surprised at how close that was. If we were going to place my dad or my mom, it's the place that would be closest and most convenient for us. It's new, it's so clean and fresh. It's decorated just more farmhouse style, and that's big here in Texas. It was really pretty and new.

The Blake at New Braunfels was a very nice facility. We toured the assisted living and memory care and the young lady that took us around, Carrie, was also very, very nice. She spent a lot of time with us taking us through the whole thing and showing us the rooms. Their facility and prices were comparable. It looked clean and didn't smell. It was kept up very well. While we were there, they had a singing group and there were some residents in the dining area that were listening to them. It was a two-story building so there would be an elevator to go up and down. They had a nice courtyard to go out, too.

The one that we would have put my dad in is The Blake at New Braunfels. I liked the fact that it was all open. It didn't look like an assisted living facility. Actually, it looked like a pretty high-class hotel. I like the whole atmosphere of not being in a home. It looked like restaurant-style dining. They had shops. I liked that they had their own pharmacy there. They have their own doctor's offices where people can be seen right there, instead of having to go out. They had big courtyards both in the memory care and assisted living facilites which were very nice. I got to meet some of the staff members, and they were all super friendly. I watched them working with the people there, especially in the memory care. It was just really nice. I enjoyed the whole thing there; plus, it's close to where my family lives. We wouldn't have to go very far to visit my dad. The staff was a really friendly and great person. We got along really well, and she explained everything. I saw the menu, and it looked fantastic.

The Blake at New Braunfels is very nice. It was very attractive and brand new. I did see a lot of the assisted living people that lived there. There are 41 people there right now. I got there during lunchtime, and I was quite impressed when I saw the people eating there. My sister is very outgoing, likes to talk, and visit. So she's really afraid if she's coming to a place that the assisted living people are too severe, but I didn't see that at all. They have activity for sure, and it looks good. I know that the staff said it was quiet, but the location was right in with this area where it was not pleasant around it because there were lots of traffic and businesses. So I don't like the location of it now. Otherwise, I think it is a nice place. It looks okay to look outside, and inside of it is nice.

I would give The Blake at New Braunfels a "five" on everything. It's brand new and it's beautiful. They had very, very beautiful rooms. Everything was brand new. The staff was very, very nice. They furnish a pendant for each individual, which I think is just necessary now. Otherwise, we would be furnishing my brother one because it's gotten to that point. Everything was just in the building stage. The apartments that they have already opened and filled were not viewable. We just went into the new building, but I saw many pictures. She said we wouldn't go to the memory care, and I can understand that. We just went into the bare rooms to see everything. They mentioned something about helping us to move, which no one else said. I didn't question her any further what that would mean, but that's a point on my side that I would have to decide pretty soon because they're booking up really fast. I know someone who has moved there, but she's in memory care, so there's nothing she could tell me. The staff has called several times just to keep me up to date. The facility was very nice. They had good views from every room I saw.
