My mother-in-law is staying at Brookdale San Marcos South. They keep it very clean. Its not one of the most luxurious places youve ever seen, but the staff is friendly and helpful. They make it a point to know the residents and what their needs are. Everyone, from the director to the orderlies that provide direct care to the residents have been nothing but kind and helpful to us. The rooms are spacious, the main dining area is very spacious, very nice, and they have dinners there for family members. Its very welcoming, and whenever we visit her, they always ask if we want to stay for a meal free of charge. The food is not four-star dining, but its not bad either. They provide seemingly healthy options and not so healthy options, and the residents get to choose. They have different resident programs where they participate in outings, she holds a board member position and gets to make decisions about how to decorate for upcoming parties, get togethers, and what kind of movie nights to offer, and they have senior dances.

I toured Brookdale San Marcos South. They offered anything I needed. The woman I met was very helpful. I was able to taste the food. I was able to visit the rooms, and it was nice and pretty well.

My wife and I went to Brookdale San Marcos. The community itself, as far as the food, size of the rooms, and cleanliness was excellent. The only disadvantage that we found was they will take you to the doctor, but the doctor has to be in San Marcos. And all of our doctors are here in New Braunfels. And so we have to change every doctor. The staff is very cordial. He took a lot of time showing us around. The maintenance of the yard was a little bit less desirable than the other facility here in New Braunfels, but they have plans. It looked like they were working on improving the courtyard area, trying to build some flower beds, and get a little more shrubs in.

Brookdale San Marcos South was a very nice community for my mom, but she didn’t like the idea of the rooms not having a full kitchen. The rooms only had kitchenettes. We had a good lunch while we were there. The place was smaller. The woman who toured us explained the activities and showed us the activity calendar and the activity room. The staff greeted us and were all very nice and very friendly.

Brookdale San Marcos was the only one I looked at. It was very pleasant, and the employees were very friendly and helpful. All of the people that lived there were having their lunch at that time, and they were all very well dressed. It was very nice and very clean, probably the nicest place I had ever seen. I looked at their rooms, which were very nice and clean. I did not see any of the activities, but they did have a lot, like taking them shopping and to the stores on certain days.

We visited Brookdale San Marcos South (Formerly Emeritus at San Marcos). They had a nice dining room with a menu for them to choose from. There seemed to be a general air of contentment, and they had lots of activities also -- bible studies, bingo, etc. The marketing person was very good and very enthusiastic. They've got nice apartments for the residents.

My mom is at Brookdale now, and she is doing fine in this place. We visited quite a few, but we chose this one because she feels comfortable there. The best thing to say about this place is that they care about the residents, and there is not much turn over.

We needed to find a place for my grandmother to stay after my grand father passed away. We knew of Emeritus due to its location next to Central Texas Medical Center. When we visited the facility we knew right away that this place would suit grand mother well. The staff was nice and let us see what there facility was like. We were able to get a room within a week and had grand ma moved in. The place also provides transportation for grandma so she was able to get to her appointments on her own. we are able to visit grandma and the place has the feel of an apartment. Since the place is located next to a hospital we have the relief to know that emergency care is seconds away. I would highly recommend this place to others that are in need of an assisted living facility for their loved ones. The place is also located close to our home so we can be on location in minutes if grandma wants to visit with us or she wants to come over to our house for dinner.
