Chapters Living in New Braunfels

What I liked about Chapters Living in New Braunfels was they also have memory care services there, but my mother-in-law wouldn't have to move again. She could stay in whatever room she's currently in. It would just be the level of care that she would change. I thought that's important for this age group to not have so many changes. The staff was very friendly, answered my questions, and were open when I walked down the hall saying hi and things like that. It didn't seem like much of a nursing home feel. It's more of a home feel. There were people who had more needs but it looked like they were getting good care. I was there when they were having lunch, it was nice to see they were all together and conversing. I thought it's good that people with some memory problems or a little bit more problems were grouped with others that had better walking and talking skills, that kind of thing. I kind of don't like some of the places where memory care is totally in another wing and they're kind of by themselves. What I saw at Chapters Living in New Braunfels, they were conversing with each other and there was inclusion. Everybody greeted me and was open to any questions that I had. It's a little on the older side. They need revamping of carpets and things like that. I did see a room. It had everything it needed. It just needed sprucing up.

My wife has been a resident since November, 2022. They have exceeded my expectations. Always accessible and quick to answer my questions / concerns. The new ownership / management has already taken steps to make this place the best it can be. I rest easier knowing my wife is being treated with the kindness, compassion, and dignity she deserves.

My grandmother moved into Memory Care. Every staff member is trained to work with memory care folks. They have a lot of different activities around the clock, like church services, crafts, snack times, and singing. They bring in a lot of outside sources to help with that as well. I like my grandmother's room. It's kind of like a nice college dorm or a suite you would get in a hotel room. My grandmother has not had any complaints about the food. I like all of the staff, from the front office to the janitorial staff to the nursing staff. They are always very positive and helpful.
