I liked the Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield. My sister went with me. It's really clean and kept up. The rooms are very nice and spacious. They had a Jack and Jill room. So, because it is memory care I heard the patients get mixed up with their personal items. So, I wish each person would have their own bathroom, instead of sharing, but the rooms are nice. They have memory games where they play with someone. It was upscale. They just had it redone as well. So, they have wood floorings, instead of carpet. They would change it all out to wood floors, which gives it a cleaner look. The person who showed us around, was very informative about everything, and all our questions were answered. I just thought the price was too much, it was $5000 plus care. They called it customized care.

The tour at Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield was really good, and that's why we're choosing it. All of the people there seemed very alert and engaged in what they were doing. Some were doing art, crafts, and music. Some were playing bingo. The staff members were nice and attentive. The facility was very upscale and elegant.

My relative and I toured Isle at Watercrest Mansfield and from the time we stepped in, they were very hospitable and very informative. They provided us with a lot of detailed information to help guide us on our search in what to look for and the type of documents that we need to have in place before placing my mother. So that was very, very helpful. That's when we learned that we didn't have certain things in order. They provided us with an activity listing as to what their daily and weekly programs are. It was laid out and a nice program, but I don't know if I can say it was suited for my mother in her condition. They have many activities and different things like TV time, but for my mother's condition, not so much. I don't think it would have suited her. She has dementia, so she'll probably need a little bit more oversee than just being placed in the area. The invaluable information that was shared with us was top-level. When we went in, we were greeted. Even when one didn't have a mask, they provided it for us. And the lady that took us around was prompt and patient. Location-wise, unless you've been there before, it's easy to get confused because they have two facilities, and we had a little difficulty realizing which entry to go in. Part of the information that was provided was something about memory care. They spoke to us about how they watch over their patients and how each one is evaluated differently for the type of care that they would need. They showed us the security door, so even if they got up and run, they can't get through the door.

Isle at Watercrest looked newer and the colors were nice and calming. The rooms and the way it's designed were nice. It's just a very positive environment. I think they have basic activities, like exercise, arts, and gardening. They have an outside area, which is very, very important for memory care residents to have a place to go and sit during the day. The staff was very positive interacting with the residents and seemed to keep up with what they're doing. They were one of the best ones we saw.

Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield is an extremely nice building, very impressive. It felt like a good place to put a man. The decor was masculine enough. Many of these places are very feminine. It had a very upscale decor. The apartments were extremely well appointed, granite countertops, and extra storage, and just an impressive place. But I will also say that there were no residents with their doors open like they were feeling that connection across the hallways with each other. It almost felt a little institutional to me, and of course it is an institution. Even though the decor was beautiful, it didn't feel homey, because I didn't see people gathered for things, I didn't see activities or open doors. It felt like a hotel. Also, they had all their assisted living people on the second floor, and that bothered me, and there were no elaborate electronic system fire doors at this location. So I questioned, you know, how are they all going to get out? They said, "Oh, we have a very good staff to resident ratio. We'll get them out," and that was not a tremendously good answer in my book. It would have made more sense to me to put the assisted living people on the bottom floor. But one thing that's nice about this community is that they do have a hallway for extended care. This is for people who've really outgrown assisted living, don't want to go to a genuine skilled nursing situation, but they need real, actual nursing. They need nurses stations, and they are more bedbound than an assisted living residence is. They have that in-house, and the idea they have was really nice to think my dad would never have to leave, and in all probability, stay here the rest of his days. That was an important plus for the Isle at Watercrest. It was probably the most expensive place we looked at, and it showed.

We have gone over and looked at Isle at Watercrest Mansfield, and we're thinking of moving my brother into it. It was clean and they will provide the amount of care that he needs, and he does need a good amount of care. Everybody was very friendly when we walked through. The facilities were clean. It smelled good, it was updated, and it was a nice facility. The rooms were nice. They were a good size. They had a refrigerator and a microwave that they could use. We got him with a shared bathroom because if he does have to use the shower, it will be with the nurse helping him, so it's not going to interfere with them going in and out of the bathroom. The floors were clean. It was a pretty nice facility obviously, or we wouldn't be trying to use it. As far as the facility, it looks good. Just from looking at it, it is clean, sunny, and bright, but you don't know anything else about it until they move in. The staff members were very nice, friendly, and outgoing. It was the administrator that conducted the tour.

Isle at Watercrest Mansfield was like a dungeon. We saw a room. It was high end and had two closets, so that was nice. As far as the one room itself, I would rate it a four. It was really dark. It was not institutional where it is bright and clean. It was like walking into an old hotel.

Everything about Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield was fine, but it's in a little older area. The staff member will help us with getting Veterans aide. The room was enough for one person. The dining area was clean and presentable. The staff was good, helpful, and friendly. They have an outdoor living area, but you have to cross over an area of a parking lot to get to it and that wouldn't be safe for my dad. They provide activities for the residents. The staff has been there for a long time. However, the price was too much.

I visited Isle at Watercrest in Mansfield and it was impressive. They have different levels of care, and the staff I met was really nice. However, it wasn't as convenient for us, because it's a little more out of the way and wasn't quite as cost-effective. It's a nice community overall, and I also like their activities. They don't have an all-inclusive price, but levels of care instead. It's a plus that they have skilled nursing inside the community. So if you need increased care you can get it from the same place. I didn't find other places like that except in this community. Mario, the staff member, was great. He was the sales person. I have met him before. He knows the people and he's very nice. He's a big plus as far as I'm concerned, because he watches over some things and is easy to work with.

Isle at Watercrest was excellent, but the price was just too much. The rooms were good. We did see Bingo happening. The dining area was kind of dark. Overall, it was clean and well maintained.

Isle at Watercrest was a nice facility and had everything I needed. The staff was awesome. They answered every question and went beyond in explaining everything to me. They told me what they can do and what they had available at the facility. They took me around and showed me other people who were close to my physical ability, they were very professional, and I had a very nice visit. The apartments were really nice. They were clean and well-designed where you can have more than one person in the room if you so desire or if you can afford it, and they showed me where everything was located as far as proximity to getting down to church on a Sunday morning or during your Bible study. It was very encouraging.

Watercrest was a bit more than we can afford, but we liked it. The apartments were nice. However, the kitchen and dining areas were small. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice. They had trips to doctors and grocery stores.

I visited Isle at Watercrest – Mansfield and it opened up two years ago. The building was decorated darker, and the wall seemed heavy. It wasn't as uplifting or as pleasing to the eyes. Even with the lights on, you still had this feeling of darkness. The staff were very caring and very attentive. They encouraged questions and they were helpful. However, they were more expensive than the other ones.

I looked into Watercrest to explore my options. They treated me very well, but I was visiting the place,so of course they had to be nice to me because they want me to move in. They had a game room, a little exercise room, a movie room, and a room for women to get their hair done and whatever else women do to themselves. The food was very, very satisfactory. I could easily live on that. They had a good chef in the kitchen. The place was well kept.

My husband, Royce, was moved to Watercrest on August 15, 2014 after being at another facility. He has had the very best of care since being here. He is no longer agitated because of the employees that are here to care for him. They have a wonderful activities program that keeps the mind and the body active.

I had visited Isle at Watercrest, and I thought it was very good. My first impression with the people working there was that they were very nice, but I was just there for a few minutes. However, they seemed to be very warm, friendly, and professional. The rooms were very spacious and very well designed for an elderly person. The food was very good. I don't remember anything going on at that time, but they do had planned activities. What impressed me were the services that they offered and the levels of care. I would highly recommend them to others.

I think Isle at Watercrest is marvelous because it is a large facility. They give us three meals a day. Food is always a good balanced meal. You have a choice of salads and soups. There is a main course and dessert. However, they could improve on the quality of the meals. We have a three-room place and we could have two beds in the bedroom. We have two nice dens. The master bedroom is huge and it has a huge closet. For activities, they have a meeting at 9:00 in the lobby and they are going to take everybody to the Dollar Tree. They have wellness activities in the wellness center. They have manicures in the activity room. Also, they have an audio book club in the club room. They have shuffle board and bingo. It is just different each day. The place is very secure. They lock the doors at night and there is an alarm system.

Of all the facilities we looked at, Watercrest was the nicest. It really gave the impression of being a small luxurious hotel. They have an actual chef, and the menu rotates. They have several choices each day and basically one or 2 entrees that the chef has prepared especially for that day, plus a selection of basics they can have if they don't want those. I expected the prices to be a lot more expensive, but they were similar, for the basic-sized rooms, to the other places we looked at. They have everything from luxurious apartments to the very nice assisted living with an extended care wing and a memory care wing, so it would serve most of their needs. They have extended care down the hall so that if someone becomes ill or comes home from a hospital stay and needs more nursing care on a temporary basis, they can do that. We really were very impressed with the place. They seem to have rooms that are a little bit larger, unless you got all the way down to their studio, which was comparable in size to other places. They have a little park, and if they're in a wheelchair or a mobile they can get to that behind the facility. It shares grounds with their independent living apartments. It was pretty new, it's beautiful, and it has the kind of elegance that my parents would like. We detected no odor of any kind, which was good because I know that's hard to control when you have people who are incontinent.

While this facility looks modern and well-kept, what is important is how the residents are cared for. My mom has been in memory care for over a year at this facility. She is having difficulty dressing and performing daily hygiene, but there is no assistance with this. The food is below average, and she is loosing interest in food. Previously there was an activity director and they had weekly outings; since the facility changed ownership, this director was fired and a new director posts daily activities, but these are seldom supervised, and outings are rare. The staff has been reduced and has difficulty in keeping up with the number of residents-the most severe cases get the attention. Are there other facilities in this area with better resident care?
