My mother moved into Ranch Lake Assisted Living. It's a very nice place. The facilities are very nice and very clean. I like the staff. They've done pretty well. I go out there probably three or four times a week, so I got to know them pretty well. The house itself is very nice and the grounds are really pretty. The outdoor area is peaceful. You become friends with the staff there. They're actually like family. My mom knows them all now and she feels comfortable with them and that makes it good. The food is pretty good. I've seen the other residents participate in some activities they have there. Mom's not interested in doing that, but she likes it outside and just enjoys the outdoors. As far as activities they have, they keep them involved if they want and they try to keep them active. Her room is nice and big. She's got a big bathroom and it has all the handicapped stuff because she needs help with all that. It's a beautiful room. Since it's a group home, there's not a whole lot of amenities around there. We weren't that concerned about it because my mom is 91 and in assisted living, and for her that wasn't a priority. They have stylists come in to do her hair a few times a month. Other than that, it doesn't have some of the amenities like the other facilities have. We're very happy with the place, and I'm really happy with the staff. It's very well kept, very nice, very clean, and inviting. They could do a little better on the food and activities. Considering they don't have as many amenities as some of the other bigger facilities, we still pay about the same amount, but since we are more concerned about the more personalized care, it was kind of a bigger thing.

Ranch Lake Assisted Living was a very nice community. They did a great job of taking care of my father, but they struggled with hospice care. Otherwise, it was a great experience. The food was very nice. They had group activities, some physical exercise type activities, and music. It's a very small community. They didn't do crafts or anything like that.
