My parents moved into Watercrest at Katy. They have similar services, the facility is very nice, and the cost is much lower than most of the other places we looked at. The rooms are very nice, clean, and spacious. And the staff is very friendly and very caring. We've only been here a few days. We had one meal when we visited. Very nice. The food was about the same as the other places that we ate at. So, I wouldn't say spectacular, but it wasn't any different basically, than all the other places we ate at. They've got basic activities and field trips, and they have resident gardens. They have a nice swimming pool, workout centers, salon, and all the amenities that we're looking for. Very friendly atmosphere. The residents are very nice. Everyone's very helpful.

I am a resident of Watercrest at Katy. We've got a few things going, but not many. The facility is seven years old. It was shoddily built. It's pretty nice, but it's in constant need of repair. The people who work here are generally very nice and friendly as opposed to the management. They cook very little here. They bring it in pre-cooked trays from Tyson Foods, which are delivered in a truck, and they just warm it up. It's mostly kind of yucky. You can get a few things done here that are good, but you can count them on one hand. They just got a new activities director, so the activities are improving, like field trips and the Friday night happy hour with live music. They do light events like bingo. There are some card games. They have another person with the activities director who helps with a lot of these. She's very good and very friendly.

We will move into Watercrest at Katy. The prices are great. It's about half the price of our other chosen facility. I like the apartment a whole lot better, a little bit more room, and I like the place, and everything.

I went to Watercrest at Katy. The lady that toured me was wonderful. She took me over everything. They have good amenities. You have to pay for your dining. Everything was clean. They have a lot of activities that you can do inside and outside. They're really good. They have arts and crafts, and the gym. There are different spaces for families to meet, or little group areas where people can sit. They have a beauty shop. The way it's laid out is because there are three stories, it is open, light, and bright. The dining room was very nice. They have a large auditorium. It seats over 100 people where they have movies or speakers.

Watercrest at Katy was great. Everything looked clean and neat. The staff was great. He explained everything, talked about everything that we'd seen, and what were the plans. The kitchen was spotless. They had a game room where you can play different games, card games, and board games. They had a pool table.

My aunt is in Watercrest at Katy. They're great and they're madly in love with my aunt. They're very helpful and very sweet. It's just that she's sharing a two-bedroom with her sister who had a fall and requires more care, and has now been moved to the nursing home. The food was really good when they first moved there, and then they changed who does it, and now they get a lot of frozen food just heated up in the oven. I don't think the food is that great anymore. I mean, it's adequate, but I definitely won't give the food more than a rating of three. They have bingo, exercise classes, there's a bunch of people that play puzzles and cards every night. There's a ton of stuff going on there.

Having lived here with my dear wife from Oct. 2020, and since we're about to climb out of a long and historic icy blast, I thought that it's time for another review on Watercrest at Katy to add another dimension of our experiences at this community. After all, the best time to evaluate a facility is when going through a crisis such as this unprecedented winter storm. Since the start of the freeze on Sunday night, we have not lost power or water here for even a second. All senior residents have been kept toasty warm - what an unspeakable blessing in light of so many power outages and frozen water pipes all around us in Katy and greater Houston area! Understandably, the staff of Watercrest did not make it to work on Monday due to icy slippery roads. But our director Doug with a skeleton crew of two maintenance men showed up bright and early to spread salt crystals on walkways so that folks with dogs could venture out and do their business. Meals were suspended for one day. The next day a few more brave staffs came to serve meals. Again, the director himself donned apron and served meals in the Dining Hall. Thursday, we had full staff, and activities are slowly returning to normal. We cannot say enough about Watercrest at Katy. What an amazing place with amazing staff! God bless them all.

My grandmother is in Watercrest at Katy. It's been good. She is basically in independent living, so they provide some minor care. They take the meals to them, but she doesn't need full time nursing or anything like that. The staff is very good. They're professional, and they're easy to work with. They play bingo, they have crafts, they have movie nights, they bring people in for music, they have water aerobic classes, they have a pool, they have a library, and they have pool tables. I mean they have all kinds of stuff. There are some things the staff could do a little better, but in general it's good. My grandmother is not 100% with the food, but their facility is very nice.

Watercrest at Katy is fantastic. It's more of an independent living facility, but they have some supports built in. The people are super nice and very interactive. There are hundreds of people who live there, and they knew people by name. They knew what was going on, and they knew the names of their family members. It's very clean, very nice, and beautifully appointed. My mother-in-law's apartment has granite countertops in the kitchen and hardwood floors. You can add on medicine checks and a daily check, and they have a button that she wears that she can push. There's somebody there 24/7 that monitors her in case she has an emergency. They have food service. We really love it. The staff is warm and friendly. The food looked wonderful, and it's set up like a restaurant. It's modern and very pretty. They have over a hundred groups you can join. Any interest a person has, you're going to find things there to help them.

I was very impressed with Watercrest at Katy, especially with the manager. The whole atmosphere was really warm. The residents all seemed very happy. They had a year-round covered pool, exercise class, movie theater, and coffee shop area.

My father was a resident of Watercrest at Katy. We didn't like that at 8:00 at night they would lock up and everybody would leave, and there was no responsible person left there. Also, on holidays they're closed. They dont serve all the meals, they just serve ten meals a week, which was breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. My dad liked the price when we moved in, it was less than what he was paying. The place is also brand-new and they're looking for residents. He did bingo, skip bo, they would have a happy hour, there was aWii entertainment system, they had exercise classes, and other activities. It's a very nice place, it was well-decorated, and pretty. It's also real close to I-10 and easy to get to. The food was always good, although my dad didn't always like it.

My in-laws moved into the Watercrest at Katy. Everything is great. They have all kinds of activities available. If you want, you can have the staff give your loved ones meds or walk them to meals. They go grocery shopping for them, they clean once a week, and they'll do laundry for them. It's a great place. We are happy with it. The dining area is fine. My in-laws get three meals a day. For what they're on, they can choose from seven different items for lunch or dinner. It's up to them if they want to eat the main meal or if they want to eat off a separate menu. They give you different types of selective meal plans you want. They give you breakfast for free every morning, but when it comes to lunch, you get to choose out of the main course or pick other options, so you don't have to just eat what you're given. The staff is great too. They take care of everything. Any time my in-laws have something that goes on in the apartment, they're up there fixing it that day or the next. They're excellent. The value is good too.
