My brother is in Vibralife of Katy for rehab now, and I'm looking to see if they have assisted living, and if he meets the requirements. The staff is all very friendly, and they seem to take good care of their patients. The food is good. He has no complaints. The place is very well kept up, and it's a newer facility, so it looks fresh and new. He was in quarantine for ten days, so he didn't get to experience the activities, but they have movies and games and things.

Mom was at Vibralife Of Katy for at least a year. They have a high turnover of staff members. There are not enough people working and also not enough help. It's all money-generated. If she needed help to be pushed, they wouldn't push the wheelchair because she's got to do it on her own or they charge extra. It's just a simple push down a hallway or whatever. I had a camera in the room and she fell too many times at that location, at least four or five times, and went to the E.R. with broken bones and all. The last time, they called me and said she fell in the restroom. When I looked at the video camera, she was not in the restroom, she was being pushed by an employee in a wheelchair and as the employee was pushing her, she fell forward face-first onto the floor. The place was nice. It is set up like a hospital. The room was fine. No issues at all. She has a private bath/restroom. They take the residents out once a week on Thursdays. They had exercises every day in the morning and bingo. They also had a courtyard.

I toured VibraLife of Katy, it looked great. It's probably one of the places I was leaning toward compared to the other ones. They're very nice and the facility looks very updated. They had on-site meals and they do little activities. They would take certain groups if they decide whether they're going to go shopping one day or to a park one day. They did some outside activities that were pretty nice. Their apartments were only rooms, like a motel. It's just a small room with a small closet, some had a little kitchenette and some didn't, and then a bathroom. They're pretty basic, so we decided to look at others.

My father is a current patient. We happened to visit when his lunch was served. It consisted of a PLAIN hamburger bun, COLD cooked carrots, shredded cabbage, a sliver of pumpkin pie, iced tea, a packet of sugar, and a packet of pepper. NO protein! They want to discharge him because he's not improving. Who could improve with such poor nutrition???
