I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has been at Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation for two weeks now. They're doing everything. They're taking care of him, they're feeding him, they're providing activities and they're giving him his medicines. His room is very nice and very clean. The staff members are very friendly and caring. They do workouts, crafts, and outings. Everything looks good, but we're new to it.

Turn over is unbelievable. Always short staffed. Staff sitting at desk and the call lights go unanswered. Administration is a joke!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents have both lived at Sterling Oaks for about 15 months. Recently Dad passed away. The staff at Sterling Oaks has been fabulously supportive all during this time. During covid, the staff members went above and beyond to help me stay in touch with my parents. They have been so caring. From the time I looked into placing my parents at SO until now, the administration and staff have been awesome. Their compassion and love for my parents has been great. With now just Mom at SO, they work even harder to comfort her and give her enjoyable days. I am so glad I chose SO for my parents. The rooms are huge. The cleanliness is great. The personal attention for each resident is exemplary. Every day I am at peace because I know my parents, and now just Mom, are well cared for.

After having my mother in multiple facilities (over 8 facilities in Houston / Katy), Sterling Oaks is by far the best facility! The staff is amaizing, the rooms are really nice, and they truly care. This facility continually notifies me of everything when dealing with my mother. During covid, they continually tested and notified me of everything! Love this facility!

My mom was at this facility for four months and the care and love shown to my Mom was excellent and above expectations. They have very caring people working the facility.

As an RN and a private care nurse supervisor I have visited a great number of facilities throughout Houston. It affords me an opportunity to see beyond the amenities & pleasant decor the marketing people will show you on tour. The truth is Only by spending extended amounts of time in a facility can you truly assess management, staff, & client service. In my opinion Sterling Oaks is one of the all time best.

My step-father is a current resident of Sterling Oaks. He has been a resident for several months and his care has been A plus. The staff are respectful, caring, knowledgeable and thorough. Angie and Rebecca have always been available to answer our questions. We would highly recommend this facility.

My mom moved into Sterling Oaks, and it was terrible. They didn't have enough staff members, and the service was terrible. Once she wasn't fed for three whole days. They're not hiring anybody even though there's only one nurse for 60 beds. They need to hire more people.

If the upper management and the leadership team is not capable of treating guests and residents with utmost respect then you cannot expect the rest of the staff to deliver quality service .It saddens me to tell the public to think twice before going to this facility. New construction and aesthetics do not equate to excellent care, compassion, integriry and dignity which should be uncompromising pillars in a healthcare setting. This facility lacks these pillars. Do not take anyone you care about to this facility. My family member was admitted for Hospice services and basic human care and attention was not given to her. Since her admission to the facility, no one changed her linen or visited the room to provide basic care. She was in the same grown, diaper, and linens we brought her from our home wearing. She actually died untouched by the staff. The most appalling thing was that the Director of the facility , Ms Fox, was rude and dismissive when I approached her about my concerns. The staff claimed my relative had been given a bed bath, when in fact she was not. The great blessing was that my relative expired within 5 hours of stay at that facility. Please let us remember that money and profit is not the only thing that should motive us. The love, care, and concern for other human beings is what we must not compromise.

My husband has been at Sterling Oaks for rehab for around there weeks now. It's a 1-floor facility, which is nice. It's new, and the people that work there are very nice. They are primarily a rehab center, but they also have long-term care. They rooms are quite large, the accommodations are very nice, and the beddings are new and modern. It was pretty easy to access and in a quiet area. The food is regular, cafeteria food, and they would not be remembered for this if they won't change the menu. They could use more equipment in the exercise area.
