I am/was a resident of this facility

It was a horrible stay. I had diarrhea they came to help but got a call and left me for 2 hours! Their meals were cold and mushy most of the time. Short staffed, I refused to allow men to change my diapers. I was given a wrong med on night, brought to her attention & she insisted it was my pain med. I had witness to this incident. Physical therapy group was great!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad has been at Oakmont Healthcare and Rehab Center of Katy for almost a month now. The place is very clean, and the people there are very friendly. His room is clean, tidy, and spacious. I like that they play music in the dining area and that it is spacious. They have bingo, therapy dogs coming in, and a variety of church denominations coming in to spend time with the residents. They have 3 outdoor areas. Overall, it's been OK. The reason for my rating is that I've had some issues with commu...

Dietary has improved substantially! The former dietary managers left a lot to be desired. The nursing staff for the most part are good. There needs to be in-services and directions from the powers that be on customer service and care.

Until we were forced to go to Mason Creek last week after almost five years, we didn't realize how inferior Oakmont can be. So many good people trying to do their jobs, but my description would be lack of compassion by administration and overall poor management. Communication with families is very poor. We were not supported with mother on hospice, limited to one hour a day visitation, when other facilities are open and supportive of hospice families. Getting help for the residents, getting re...

I am a friend or relative of a resident

As far as the nursing staff goes at Oakmont, some are good and some are not. My mother-in-law was there for nine days, and if we hadn’t pushed the issue of them sending her to the hospital, she would have died. They didn’t want to send her out.

I visited this facility

I was satisfied with Oakmont Healthcare & Rehab Center. It was satisfactory. The staff seemed to be very caring. The rooms were small. They had lots of activities.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandmother was at Oakmont. I would not recommend them if my life depended on them. They did not give my grandmother her medicines. She ended up having two strokes while she was there. Also, she was not being fed after I told them that she could not lift her hands up or her body. We were there everyday, and it was painful for her to just lie there, while we did all the work. It was the worst experience in my life. They need to improve on their manners, and I would say overall, they need to im...
