My mother entered care here on April 19, 2022. I have been extremely pleased thus far. Any issues are addressed quickly. She is on a feeding tube so can’t comment on the food or activities. Her roommate enjoys the food. The Director of Nursing, Stella, is excellent! They need to be sure and pay her well. You will find her in meetings, on the floor doing rounds, changing diapers and even mopping up urine. Ashley is one of the many outstanding nurses there and also goes above and beyond. The facility is well maintained and clean. The receptionist is askesys pleasant and very knowledgeable about the goings on at the facility. I would recommend Brighton Senior Luving.

Rooms are pretty dark and not very happy, the nurses were good that worked directly with my mom. They were frequently understaffed which caused care issues. No one able to change residents during lunch hour which could be over one hour! No one wants to wait for that! My other problem is with the management and office. I was due a refund of over four thousand dollars. I was given the run around and still haven't received the refund two months later. I may have to get a lawyer.

DO NOT put your loved one here. My MIL was sent home after a 20 day rehab for a broken hip and she was wrapped in a bed diaper with bed sores. Her teeth were lost and we were told she would be wheelchair bound - I had her walking in 3 days. Worst of all she had staples from surgery and not a single person noticed. The skin had started to grow around the staples. Horrible Horrible

Place is horrible made my mom eat puréed mush when she could eat solid food. Put her in Covid room when she was negative and had no symptoms. I wanted hot move her because the nurses were extremely rude and lazy. They withheld giving me or the new place paperwork to move her kept telling me she needed to stay there 21 days because Medicare would pay. I had to threaten to report them to the state to finally get her out of there. Miraculously she was all well as soon as they realized the free ride was over and they would be getting no more Medicare money. This place was horrible I would never let any family member come to this place again.

I spoke to a person in this facility, 88 yoa, asking for help, using the call button, nurses didn't want the button to be used, took it away and slapped the patients hand to get the button from the patient. Changed the persons diaper and left them uncovered. How dare anyone not tend to the patients, much less SLAP them. This is supposed to be a CARE CENTER. You do not neglect or abuse anyone, but the elderly?

My dad stayed at this facility and overall I think the staff were lazy and rude. They never answered the phone. I would hear employees bad mouth each other in the room which shows unprofessionalism. It smelled like urine. The employees acted as if they didn't want to be there.

I had my dad here as he had his leg amputated. At first, the service wasn't that great but I made contact with Lanisha that works there and boy did we get Great service after that. I think this is a highly stressful job and we must remember the elderly forget that it is an assisted living and not maid service. I had to remind my dad of that daily they are here for you to teach you the NEW YOU! I think with any nursing home, rehab you have to make sure you go by daily and check on your love ones because not everyone thinks of it as a blessing to be able to assist the elderly. I will/would take my dad back if the services are needed again.

Grace Care Center of Katy is a great place to be. Staff treat the patients as if they are their own family members. All concerns are addressed immediately and with compassion. I would put my loved one there.

I have a relative that stayed here. They have a new Executive Director named Jesse who I've seen during the weekend helping pass out food which shows he's willing to help out. On the other hand this place is short staffed. I also over heard a hispanic aid that works on the side where people have dementia and are long term, tell another employee that she hardly ever gives the elderly people that live there a bath because she doesn't have any time. The other female employee told her "well that's not right, you should bathe them more often". The hispanic lady responded by saying that she doesn't have time. It led me to believe that they're lucky if they even get one bath a week. They also have a high turnover rate. The food is horrible. The salisbury steak is extremely salty and they just serve too many unhealthy meals. The directors of this nursing home also hardly ever respond to their emails. They will forget to schedule hospital transportation which led for a doctor's appointment needing to be rescheduled. I wouldn't recommend this nursing home to anyone. The only good thing about this place are the therapy employees from NStep. They are an awesome team!

The facility is so clean, but the Nursing Staff is nothing. My friend has laid in the bed for hours before someone will come in to ask why she after she has pushed her button. We were there on a few occasions when she laid there for 20 minutes after asking for assistance, then my husband went to see why it was taking so long for a nurse to come in. There were no Nurses at the station, he then heard voices coming from the breakroom, all the nurses and nurse assistants were all on break at the same time. The NA said as soon as they were off their break someone would come in..It was another 20 MINUTES for them to come in to see what she wanted.. This is just instance and we have seen a few more just like this one. The nurses are watching TV, on their phones, and so on, no compassion and NOT DOING THEIR JOB for someone that has limited time on this earth

I recently was a patient of the rehab portion of Grace Care Center. My overall opinion was fantastic. With all the people working there, I honestly couldn't received better care. Therapist, nurses. aids and everyone else were professional and very knowledgeable. gy

The Grace Care Center of Katy is fairly new, looks very clean, and seems to be well run. It came highly recommended, but it was not as close to our house as the other facility. The staff who assisted me was very nice though.

The Grace Care Center is better than it had been before. I felt both my mother and my father have been in there multiple times. I think this time they have a new director, and a lot of things have changed for the positive. I think the physician’s assistance that is over the facility does a phenomenal job, knows her patients well, and interacts with the physician over the center well. The food was not that great, and there was not as much as of push to help my mother get out of her room and actually partake in from other activities, but the occupational therapy was very good.

The Grace Care Center of Katy is where my husband was for two months. It was very good. He had a nice, spacious room. They had exercise because he was there for therapy, plus bingo and different games. I think every two weeks they would go on a bus out to lunch and did different things for holidays. He enjoyed the food. I was very satisfied with the facility.

My aunt lived at Grace Care Center. I was not satisfied at all because we had several issues with them. One of them was that they lost her dentures and never found them nor did they replace them. Overall, we did not like them at all.

My mother went to Grace Care Center of Katy about three years ago to recover from hip surgery. Grace Care was a horror story! The nurses were inattentive, most of the staff couldn’t understand English, the food was mostly sugar and fat and the doctor who was supposed to review and approve treatments came only at 4:00AM on Sunday morning, every other week. While Mom was there, another woman down the hall pressed the nurse-call button numerous times for help getting to the in-room toilet. After about an hour without a response (typical at Grace), the woman attempted to get to the toilet on her own. A freelance (patient-paid) nurse happened by the room and found the woman on the floor with a pool of blood around her head where she had broken the skin in her fall. Never subject anyone in your family to Grace Care Center of Katy.

My mother is 87 with Alzheimer's. She fell from her bed at her personal care home. After hip surgery, Grace Care took her in for therapy. They didn't know how to handle her. After 7 days they said she wasn't showing progress so they were discharging her 3 days later. The day of the discharge they gave me no details of home health, told me they had ordered a wheelchair, and didn't need a hospital bed. Got my mother to her regular care home and found out the just ordered chair and bed. The supply company was surprised when they called to ask when she would be discharged. I told th she already was. So a woman with no memory and a fractured healing hip has no wheel chair and a regulated that she can fall out of.

I think that we probably have decided on Grace Care, if my husband does go into a facility. They were super. They had a registered nurse for every patient. They had everything from Alzheimer's to long-term care and in-housing nursing. The people there were fantastic and they were very, very caring with the patients. The rooms were nice and they had semi-private and private. It was very nice. They try to pair people with those of similar age and similar problems. The only thing bad thing about them was the food; if I had anything to complain about, this would be it. They had all kinds of activities for the residents every day and they take them out and things like that. They had two really nice areas; one for the Alzheimer's unit and the other for long-term care where they can go out and feel safe. It was all enclosed and it was very nice that they can sit outside with their loved ones or sit out by themselves if they wanted to. It was very nice and very well-maintained.

I recently had my grandmother her at Grace. From the time I entered the building and met with Tami the admissions lady and took my grandmother to her room, we had great communication. Nursing was brought in my room within 15 minutes. I met the sweet ADON Lanisha. She went over my grandmas meds with me and made us feel right at ease. Therapy and the rest of the staff were awesome! This is the best place in Katy!!

I honestly have to say that Grace Care Center of Katy has done great things for my father. He came into the facility for therapy and nursing care and has done well there. The staff is very knowledgeable and treated my father very kindly. Keep up the great work!! I would recommend this facility to anybody who needs therapy and nursing care!

The DON, Angela, is very rude and has a very uncaring manner. She shows no emotion and always has a flat facial expression. ADON is insincere regarding concerns. Admissions said she would put patient's on a list for a private room but as new patient's come and go the waiting list doesn't get addressed. The therapy department was good, responsive caring therapists. The nursing staff had some nice caring nurses but very poor communication with everybody out to get each other in trouble or fired. Lots of arguing and bickering in hallways. No team work. Patient's are told their medications would be available to them as soon as they were admitted, by admissions, but then had to have the medications ordered and delivered from the pharmacy. The staffing is typically short and the facility refuses to have a pool of nurses to call in the event of call-in's. The facility is clean and beautiful, but Poor leadership = Poor Care.

My husband either had or developed a bedsore on his heel while in this "Skilled Nursing facility' for 9 days. We are still receiving Wound care in a Hospital and home for this bed sore and will for several more weeks. Not one of the medical staff would pay attention to my husband when he tried to tell them about his discomfort. This "Skilled Nursing" was unacceptable and this should be investigated by Medicare and Tx Department on aging.

Worst staff, rude and condescending. Don't even ask a question or you will be made to feel as if you did something wrong. Little to no information given in regards to changes in medications, when patient would have a bath, and or doctor visits. Therapy staff good, but they are contracted and not staff. Head nurses knew nothing about a patient left it up to CN's to provide information to patient and family. Wish I didn't have to rate - worst place

The only issue I have with this facility is their case manager. She does not believe in going the extra mile. She will tell you insurance is kicking you out and she hasn't even taken steps to fight on your behalf. She did this with my family member, but luckily I knew how to fight insurance and was able to get everything approved. I had to do her whole job while we were there. I hate to think of the amount of people that have been kicked out because they didn't know there was still the ability to fight but the case manager just chose not to. The therapy staff is amazing. The setting is phenomenal. However, the case manager needs to be fired. She either does not know how to do her job or is just simply unwilling.

I was in rehab in Dec 2011 for one week, had I known what I know now, I would have reported them to Medicare. The majority of staff was condescending, rude and incompetent. My floor was mopped once in seven days. When I requested an "Just What IS IT THAT YOU WANT?" as ugly as a person could get. She brought the pack and thru it on the floor by my night stand. When I request her to put water in the drink cup with out Ice, she returned with cup full of ice and NO water. I reported her and all others that were ugly to me and my room mate who suffered a stroke and could not talk for herself. ONE and only one sweet Nurse stood her ground and took up for me and my room mate. How this place got the rating they did is beyond me. The account manager could not even supply me with a bill, she said there was not a bill in my name. Why because for unknown reasons, and not authorized by me. I called for 3 months several times a month to get a statement. Finally I decided my family or church had blessed me and had paid my bill. Not so, almost a year later I got a bill from a Credit collector. About the same time my friend (person to call in case of Emergency) brought me a bill that had finally caught up with her at her New Address. You need to know that you can contact Medicare when you are not treated correctly by staff, they will Immediately send an investigator out and if they find the claims to be true the facility may lose their funding.

When my aunt broke her hip, she stayed at Grace Care for rehabilitation. What I really liked about them was that they had a very friendly, nice and helpful staff. However, the placed seemed dark. My aunt was in a hospital apartment so it wasn't as nice as the other apartments in the facility. I was not able to eat there, but the food looked good. Every once in a while, there would be somebody playing the piano. They had a little ice cream parlor that you could go to, which was free. For me, the only improvement they needed was for them to paint the building a little lighter so that it won't look dark because it was a beautiful building and they had an atrium in the middle. I would recommend this facility to others.

My relative has been at Grace Care Center for 1 year and the nursing staff is the worst I have ever seen. I really believe that most of the staff are just there to collect a paycheck and don't really care about the elderly. My relative has fallen 2 times. Recently, I was complaining that something was wrong with my relative and was told by Grace Care that she had dementia. When I threatened that I was going to take her to the hospital myself, they called an ambulance. When I got her to the hospital we found out that she had a urinary tract infection and pneumonia.

My Mom has been here for some time, WHile this might be the best choice in Katy it surely has its shortcomings. Very Very transient staff, some not caring, too short staffed, some staff are great, but those are way to few and usually do not stay long. I think the D.O.N. is a paper pusher, not sure if that is what the position is supposed to be, also seems non caring. Let me be clear this is the most likely the best place for now in Katy but they could do way better.

Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services rated Grace Care Center of Katy a 94 which is well above the Texas statewide average of 60. This rating makes Grace Care Center number one in the Katy area and number three in all of Harris County. Grace Care Center of Katy recently celebrated their one year anniversary and is very proud of this designation.
