My dad is doing rehab at Westchase Health and Rehabilitation Center. We chose it because it was decent and they had availability. He's been there for 2 weeks now. It's not the best care out there, but it is good for what it is. They have a good team, a good nurse practitioner, and a good doctor. The therapist is really good too. The nurses are fine, they just seem to be understaffed and overworked. That stuff is going to affect everything and there's not a lot of attention to detail. I wouldn't say it's their fault, per se. I think it's the management's fault that they're overworked and they have too many residents per nurse. The facility is clean, but it also has some deterioration like there are stains on the ceilings and the paint is coming off of the walls. It's not very nice. They have a calendar of activities there, but I've never seen them do it.

A lot of the CNAs and nurses really do they best to take care of the patients it's just they don't have enough staff so it's impossible to give the proper care

My father has been a resident at least 3 times already and I have worked in Healthcare over 18 years and saw things at other facility that I thought was unprofessional and unacceptable. I decided to send him to Westchase, because the atmosphere was friendly! The treatment and care that my father received while at Westchase was excellent! They treated him as if he was royalty and provided him with the best of care. I'm his RP and I was informed about every issue that pertained to his treatment plans, appointments, medication changes and so on. The stereotypes about nursing home in my experience is over rated and untrue. There was things in the facility that was available to him that kept him busy and active in his leisure interests, even took him on outing into the community each month. The food was ok, and he enjoyed the Friday lunch meals, because it was fried fish. The staff is friendly and caring and greeted me at each visit. I have recommended this facility several times and will continue to send my father to Westchase cause I know he is in good hands.

My mom has been there for about three and a half years. She loves it there. There is always some kind of activities going on for the guest that stay here. The staff has always been friendly with both my mom and our family! The facility is always clean and the outdoor areas are perfect for spending time with your love ones outside. I know my mom is being well taken care of and our family is happy with Westchase and the family they have created for my mom there! My only concern is that there are other residents and family members who are constantly being rude to my mom and the staff. I don't think they (other residents and their families) understand how hard these angels are working to care for our love ones when we can't! I would say overall our family is happy with our choice in Westchase!

The facility is large and under staffed and the staff they do have are lazy and incompetent. Do not send your loved one here unless they are self sufficient and basically do for themselves.

I have a love one in this facility .Yes they may have some issues sometime .What facility dont? I know that if I have any concern at all I can let them know about it and they will adress them right away.I would not place my love one in a facility that I am not comfortable with. When I leave to go home I know she is going to receive the best care. The staff truly care and thats important to me.The therapy team is awsome. That is the best rehab team I have ever seen. They truly are well trained therapist. My mother and I are very happy with our decision to come to this facility . We wouldnt change it for nothing in the world. This is her home and as the staff would say her second family.

This facility staff needs more professional training. The nurses are ghetto and uncaring toward some of the patients and busy doing nothing. They are rude to the patients. Dinner is served @5:00 p.m. but some of the patients recieve their meal an hour an a half late. Patients aren't given their snacks and their personal items are stolen from them. The hallway has a real bad urine smell in it.

Friend was told her family didn't care about her and that's why she was there. She was not given medications and forms were pre-filled with blood pressure readings...very upsetting experience. Feel bad for people who are there for long term care.
