Brookdale Tanglewood is excellent. I would give it very high marks for good care, and they call me all the time to give me updates. My mom has been in several places, and this is the best by far. Their price is very reasonable. I can't see any room for improvement.

I went to The Farrington at Tanglewood. It felt like you're staying at a nice hotel. You need to use the elevators to get to the different activities, it's not all on one floor. The first floor is dining, the second floor is the movie room, and there was a library on the fifth floor. You have to move around to get to the amenities because they're not all in one location, but that's fine, that's all in the same building. They had a nice back patio, and they had pathways for residents to walk their dogs, and they had lots of bird feeders and things. When we went there, there were tons of birds and squirrels and things right where seniors could sit down, and look outside in the backyard area and see a lot of little wildlife, so that was cute. They had a whole separate area for home health, and exercise by rehabilitation, they had a room for that. And I think that room had its own staff. You looked in there and there were physical therapists, like sitting there waiting for whenever a resident would go in, they had two physical therapists there on hand. They had good layout apartments, they were spacious, with very nice granite bathrooms.

Brookdale Tanglewood pleased my friend greatly. That's where he wants to go. They have a very full calendar. We didn't get to participate in any of the activities, but we definitely went through the calendar with him. Everything that he needs are there, especially in the community being with other people, which is what he wants. The menu was very extensive, way more than I would think would be at an assisted living facility or nursing home. I thought it was great variety. The staff was all very helpful. They have a craft room, they have a hairdresser/barber shop, they have a television room, a meeting area, and a place for having entertainment. The only thing that I had questions on is whether they were a type B facility. The answer was no. They don't assist in and out of bed. The residents have to be able to get up on their own.

We love Brookdale Tanglewood property, but my father cannot afford it. The food was excellent, and they dine together; I liked that for my dad.

Brookdale Tanglewood was very nice, but it was a little more expensive than we were ready to go with. It seemed to have more activities that would be better for our interests. It's probably a more active community, as far as I'm concerned. The rooms were very nice. They were a little old, kind of aged or dated, but they were very nice.

I am very pleased with Brookdale Tanglewood. I do not have any complaints. The place is clean. The staff is caring, loving, and friendly. I am satisfied with it. The apartment is an average size, but it is nice and clean.

My father is in assisted living at Brookdale Tanglewood. It's close to us, and the people are nice. They have outings and different things going on almost every day. We’re having some problems with them over their saying things that they haven’t done yet and lack of communication, but I think that's because it's still new. The staff is great. The only thing that’s been a negative is communication. One person says something, then another person doesn’t know about it. One person says something else and the other person still doesn’t know about it. Everything else has been very good.

I moved my Aunt in Brookdale Tanglewood last January. The staff there is very professional, yet loving and caring. My first visit with Mary, the director, was 3 hours long. They shared stories and just took their time to talk with me. They were not in a hurry to know my concerns, and I was impressed. Caitlyn, the lady who gave me a tour, also gave me a cookie. It was a quiet community with a new carpet and larger rooms with full bathroom and a little kitchenette. They had an internet and a computer access for all residents. They also had a lot of activities. There were even posters of it, so the residents and guests were well informed. They also had very good home-made food. Residents could choose any food they like on the menu. They had granite counter tops and high ceilings in their dining room. After all, I felt very secured and comfortable for my aunt to be there.

I like Brookdale Tanglewood (Formerly The Hampton at Tanglewood), but they don't have independent living there. The rooms were smaller than the other places we visited. They have a book club, games, trips, and outings.

My mother lived at the Tanglewood Property for nearly two years. Expensive and highly incompetent "nursing" staff. Would not recommend to anyone. Dirty needles left in my mom's room, she has been overdosed twice, she been in filth all night, room stinks of urine and given a room with a dirty carpet to start with, ignored, neglected, horrible caregivers, and medication disappeared. The thanks we received from the facility? Rent increased by $1200.
