Lone Star Living wasn't really what we wanted. They didn't have a porch on the outside. They have a cafeteria though. They have trips that they could go on and things like that. You have to sign in for those trips or to even go to the doctors. They showed us the apartments. You would have to walk outside. There's a covered area. They have like 4 or 5 apartments to get to one hallway.

Our tour at Lone Star Living was fine. The guy who toured us did good. It was a small place. It's just that they had a small kitchen. The prices were good, but the facility was old to me.

I enjoyed my visit to Lone Star Living. When we walked in the door, there was something about the atmosphere that just drew you there and made you want to be there. The host was there to greet us, and then we had lunch. There was an ambassador who sat down and explained to us everything about Lone Star Living and she was so pleasant to me and to my daughter who went with me. She made our day that day. They have all kinds of activities. They had fitness there, they played bingo that day, and they had transportation to take you on field trips (they have organized field trips). I asked if they would take me to my church worship service and the lady said that that would be arranged. I'm an avid bridge player. I asked about taking me to the play bridge on the days that I had to go and she said that could be available, too. I liked the security there, and when I walked in, everybody was so pleasant and greeted me. Their monthly fees were cheaper.

I toured Lone Star Living and I met with Keith. He is very kind and very informative, and he kept in touch with me. When you walk in they have a welcoming sign-in desk that is open 24 hours. I realized that in case someone was visiting, or someone needed something, it's good that there's going to be somebody at that desk. Meals are provided, and it sounds like the people enjoy the meals that the chef is doing for them. I went past where they were eating in the dining area, and people were chatting over their dinner, and it was spacious. I told them I don't have anybody to cook meals for me or clean for me, but they said it's part of the price. It's all-inclusive, whether I need that service or not. The majority of their apartments do not include a washer and dryer. That part I wasn't too fond of, because I want to be able to do my own laundry and I want it in my apartment. He did say it was possible that, should I decide to live there, they may be able to work with me on something a little different. He's heard back from the owner and told me they may make concessions for someone like me. I briefly met a young lady who was making copies of something, and she was planning an event. She has a list of activities and some things maybe offsite. I don't know if a shuttle is available for them to use to do the offsite activities. It sounds like they've been pretty active based on the little bit information that I found out. It's a decent facility, but it is also kind of farther out than where I wanted. It's kind of far from where I currently stay and it's not off of Highway 6, but it does have what I was looking for as far as it's tucked away in a quiet location.

My mom will be moving to Lone Star Living. It offers three meals a day. It's a modern-looking apartment. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept with flowers. The landscaping is beautiful. There's plenty of activities taking place. It's worth the money you would spend. The staff was very friendly. It was a great tour. We got to see all the different areas, and they answered every question we had. They just made it a very easy experience. We had lunch there, and the food was OK, too. They have a salon and a fitness room, and they take shopping trips during the week, as well as trips to the doctors within a certain radius.

Lone Star Living was pretty. The apartment was clean and adequate. The staff was very informative and knowledgeable. We ate lunch there yesterday and the food was delicious. You have a lot of choices. The dining staff was very helpful. They bring you stuff in. They were very nice, polite, and helpful. They have crafts, games, and trips.

I've looked at Lone Star Living several times because I just really wanted to move there. When I went the first time, they said, 'We're fixing lunch now. How about you eat lunch here?' And it was great. It was like going to a restaurant. They said that they cook all their food fresh. The staff even sent me a plate home so I could try different things. The food was great. I also looked at the apartment. It was really cute. The kitchen was tiny but very practical, especially because the food was included, and so which meant I would be doing very little cooking. The other thing that was helpful for me, at their facility, if you are too ill to leave the room, they bring it to your room, which I think is awesome. They have some kind of medical person onsite. Those are the things that wowed me. I like spending time outside, and the grounds were very pretty and very well kept. I've met three of the staff members. They were all just overly helpful in a good way. Of course, they're trying to sell me on it. They offer transportation. There is also maid service. The maid comes in once a week to clean your apartment, so that's pretty big. The first two times I was there, they were renovating the apartments like sprucing up. They have a selection of apartments with carpet and apartments that have a solid surface that you can mop, and that's what I like. However, the cafeteria is a little bit old.

Lone Star Living was nice. It's a home away from home. I enjoyed myself there. Everybody was friendly. The rooms they showed me looked nice. I'm looking forward to being there. You got your living room, your kitchen, and your bedroom. It's very nice for one person like me. That's what I'm looking for. The staff was fantastic. They were great and very helpful. I had lunch there and I enjoyed it. The service was great and the food was excellent. The dining area was large and nice. Everybody seemed to be happy there, getting around, doing everything, and enjoying themselves. The facility was in excellent condition. We saw the laundry room. It was all nice, clean, and kept up real nice.

My friend is in Lone Star Living. It's a very good place, very nice, very friendly, and very good service. She liked it. She's on her own, but she has the meals, housekeeping, and transportation. There's a salon on the premises. They're all very caring, very willing, and they got her some things that she needed to finish her apartment, not furniture-wise, but other stuff that she's needed to be able to get around. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They're excellent. I was very pleased with the staff. Everything was very clean and neat. The surroundings were very pleasant. There are ponds, flowers, and plants. Their dining room was also very pristine. Everything looked very, very nice. They had a painting class, card games, they had a small place there where they can do some light exercises with some machines, and bingo nights. Those were the things that I saw advertised there on the little board that they have.

I recently have spoken to a relative of mine who lives here and they told me that the facility recently hired a new professional chef to oversee the kitchen. She said that he is so kind and polite to them all and I was told that she has has seen a dramatic improvement in food quality and hospitality since the change. The staff is always so welcoming and im glad to hear that they are making the necessary changes to make things better. Thank you all at Lonestar for making the necessary changes for the better!

Noted a decrease in housekeeping services. My mother made frequent complaints about lack of consistent housekeeping services to me. I in turn complained to management and front desk staff multiple times over several weeks before the issue was resolved in regards to receiving the full weekly housekeeping services, i.e. changing the sheets when requested and emptying the trash. Both are listed as part of the housekeeper's duties in information sheets distributed. However, there are good activities offered on a regular basis and the one bedroom apartments are very nice.

Lone Star Living (formerly Westbrae Court) was right outside our subdivision, and my mom could drive without having to go on any big streets to get to our houses. However, the girl who would greet you was always on the phone and never could talk to you. You always had to sit there and wait and they'd tell you not to be there between 10:00 and 2:00, but when we got there at 3:00, they were gone. The one girl was kind of rude, but I liked the manager. The rooms had just a tiny kitchen with a tiny refrigerator and a tiny stove; I didn't like that. Mom wasn't going to be happy with that either. The cost included food and she would've liked one that didn't include the food.

My parents don't like Lone Star at all, and they're not happy. The facilities are clean, and people are friendly. It could use some updating. The managers are pretty friendly, and they have a lot of activities, like exercises, religious meetings, and book groups. The food is good. They have an outside area with a koi pond that's kind of a communal area.

Lone Star Living needs to do some significant improvements. It's old and they need to do some freshening up. The flooring needs to be improved, but they do have a new elevator. They need to improve the outside seating and the food could also use some improvement. The staff turnover is too high. Mom has been there for almost two years and during that time they've had about five different managers. The current manager seems to be knowledgeable. My mom goes to an exercise class and they go on outings sometimes. They offer some pretty good activities, but they need to improve on some processes. For example, they took my mom to a pharmacy once and just left her there. No one could tell me how long she'd been gone and there was no logbook, so I ended up having to go and pick my mother up myself.

Lone Star was a nice one that was closer to the area where I want to live. They were still working on updating and everything. The lady I talked to and her husband had moved there and taken it over. They had really done a lot as far as putting things together and everything. We had a nice talk. I looked at different, nice apartments. She showed me two or three of them that I liked. It is probably my second choice. The amenities were very nice. In the dining area, she asked me if I wanted to eat but I wasn’t hungry at that time. It was a very nice place, and I liked the people. She was so sweet and understanding.

The one we choose is them. We find the tour very good. From the moment we get on the property, everyone is warm, friendly, and welcoming, both the staff and the residents. They keep on saying, "Welcome home" or, "Welcome to your new home." That makes it feel really homey and warm. They do what they can as far as having everything settled and straight for him to move in within a certain amount of time. They are still very active and making sure that he is making the most out of the experience. He has been there for about two or three weeks now. They call me about what is going on and what is not going on. They have a bunch of trips. They have casino nights, bingo nights, and they do a bunch of things. They have services, if they need.

My husband has only been here a week. They were recommended by one of his home health care aides, and it's down the street from my house. The staff is wonderful and very nice. The rooms are beautiful. We have the whole apartment for him. He likes to watch TV. He has Alzheimer's, but he's happy. He loves the food; he eats every meal.
