My mom moved into Capstone Healthcare Estates at Veterans Memorial. It has been a good experience. The place is open, airy, and clean. They have plenty of staff readily available, and they're pretty responsive, and those things are important to me. They have activities, rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and outside outings.

My father is in Capstone Healthcare Estates at Veterans Memorial. He's getting rehabilitation, but he's supposed to be coming home as long as his blood work comes out fine. He's getting good care, but the only thing is that some of the CNAs can be very lazy. My father has to call me and tell me that he needs to be changed. He tells them, but they just throw him off. That's the only problem. The registered nurses are good. In the cleaning part, I had to clean the floor one time. It was kind of dirty. The people in the office are good. The floors were sticky. They just threw their clothes on the floor. Therapy is very good. He's improving. The physical therapy, I give them a five, the RNS I give them a five, the CNAs, I give them a three. I only communicate with them when my dad calls me saying that he's been dirty and they haven't been in there, but they've been very calm. They talk to me politely. They understand. They've been good. Therapy includes exercise with his arms and body. They're doing their job.

My brother is at Capstone Healthcare Estates at Veterans Memorial. We looked at more than 30 facilities and this place was the only one that stepped forward and helped me do the Medicaid paperwork and submit it. Zoe was the lady who called me and told me to process some paperwork for Medicaid, which I did. She said they had a bed available and that we should bring my brother in. So, they got him in while we were processing his Medicaid, and they were able to help me cover the bills starting from the time he got in. Everybody knows my brother and everybody knows me. There are people who go above and beyond to help you, and then there are always the few who do not. But the majority of the people there are very helpful. Their physical therapy department is excellent. The aides that know him are very caring towards him and they do communicate with me. I get calls all the time. They are very friendly and receptive to the families and to their patients. The rooms need to be updated, and it's too small. We can't even get a chair in there or an extra dresser there. They're way too small for 2 people. But the little housekeeping lady that knows my brother, she's always cleaning up, trying to keep his room clean. The whole place needs a fresh coat of paint, but they're constantly cleaning the floors. He enjoys the food. He does get vegetables, nice meat and fish, and some fruits. He gets a nice hot meal 3 times a day, and also their little time snacks and all this in-betweens. Activities are not what they should be. It sounded good when we put them in there and then the activity director was gone in no time. Then another one came on board for months but this guy just did not do his job at all. Now, they do have a new activity director, so I hope that they will have more and better activities now.

My grandmother moved into Capstone Healthcare Estates at Veterans Memorial. The experience has been amazing. It's better than what I'm typically used to. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They're on top of everything when it comes to my grandmother's care. The facility is nice and clean. It's almost as if they treat her as family. My grandmother has a private room. It's nice and simple. It's just enough for her to have. She likes the food. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. They have a recreation area, a TV area, and a meeting room where you can sit down with your loved one, hang out, and watch TV. They have a nice seating area in the front as soon as you come in.

I didn't like Capstone Healthcare Estates at Veterans Memorial because you could smell the urine and feces throughout the whole building. When I first walked in, the receptionist wasn't knowledgeable and she was rude. We had set up a tour, but she said they did not receive it. I did get the chance to tour it, but it wasn't too pleasant. It was a nice facility, but it seemed like the staff wasn't cleaning their residents enough. The staff who gave me the tour was pretty good. He was knowledgeable and showed me everything. The rooms were of pretty good size, but you could smell the odor coming from them. They weren't cleaned and they weren't sanitized. I don't think this facility was maintained well.

When we first got to Capstone Healthcare Estates at Veterans Memorial, they were doing activities for the seniors. They had them outside playing games and doing stuff with them. When we went inside, the place looked pretty clean and decent. The rooms looked nice-sized. I liked it. The staff was real friendly, too. They have physical therapy available for the residents. It didn't smell like urine when I came in, and it looked pretty nice to me. They also have a calendar where they got activities going on each day.
