I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm at Viceroy at Central Park. It's a place for independent living. I'm satisfied right here. I like it all right. I think it's a little bit overpriced. They don't serve food. We have individual apartments. We do our own cooking. They do not provide any activity. We make our own. We have what's called a great room where we can assemble, play games, whatever we want to do. We do our own housekeeping, but they do the building and yard facilities. They take care of the swimming pool and all that. We only have two people to do the maintenance and we have a general manager. They're understaffed and they're overworked. The place is ten years old and it's adequate. It's warm and dry. They just furnish a roof over our heads. The price is in line with all the other facilities, but I still think it's overpriced. For a two-bedroom apartment with, one-bath, I pay about $1600 a month and I pay my own utilities. One of the things that is needed is transportation for shopping or for doctors and medical attention. I've been here for four years now. I visited several facilities, but this is what I picked because at the time, their price was adequate, and each year that we renew, it goes up some more. This is a 55 and older facility. At full occupancy, it would be about 300 people. I have looked at some others that were cheaper and I've looked at some others that are higher priced. I would say that Viceroy for the comfort, location, and all those things, it's just about the middle of all of them. I guess it is adequately priced in comparison to all the rest of them.

I visited this facility

Viceroy at Central Park was pleasant enough that I decided to move there. The main thing is it's close to the gym that I go to every other day. Cheryl showed me around and it was just an average experience. They had a 1-bedroom/1-bath apartment, and they had a 2-bedroom/2-bath apartment. I will be going into the 1-bedroom/1-bath, which is fairly spacious. It had a nice balcony that overlooked a nice garden and a pool.

My husband and I moved into Attiva Central Park. It's very friendly, and there are many events to attend. It's very well kept up, very well maintained. The landscaping is beautiful. Lots of places to walk. They have a beautiful pool. It has great location, near businesses in that part of Grand Prairie. They don't serve meals. We just have like cake or that kind of thing for parties. It's totally independent. It's just like living in a regular apartment, only the activities that they planned, which is really nice. It's just beautiful. The building is beautiful and well-maintained. The landscaping is just gorgeous, and there are beautiful walking paths. The group spaces that we have, such as the multipurpose room, movie theater, and library. We even have our own beauty salon. They're all very nice. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

I live in Aspens at Central Park. They offer continental breakfasts five days a week, activities, and that's it. There's no other involvement in your life and it's what I was looking for. It's a beautiful community and the apartments are nice and big. They also had 2-bedrooms available. The place is three floors and they have elevators. There's minimal staff and there's not a lot of interaction unless you go looking for them, but they're excellent about being here when I need them. The place is quiet and it's insulated sufficiently, so it's very nice. They could have just done the hallways better as far as sealing them. They have birthday celebrations once a month, happy hours, and movies. There's a nice little theater and I've seen and enjoyed some good movies. It's a good place in an excellent location. We're a block away from the fire department and the police department, so it can't be any safer than that. They just built a super Walmart that you can literally walk to. We're also a gated community.

I have moved in to Aspens at Central Park. It’s very active; they have things planned for us all week long. Every one has been very friendly and willing to make friends. The staff bends over backward to accommodate me, so I don’t have anything but praise to say about the whole experience.

I visited this facility

Aspens was very nice, pretty new, and seems like it was adding stuff as they go. They had tons of game rooms; places where you could have a lot of company, like families coming in for the holidays; and comfortable places to eat or play games or just lounge. The staff was fine.
