Mom moved in and they have music, games, and they take them shopping. They also have transportation to doctors' appointments. I have mixed ideas about the staff; there's some good staff members, and some bad, just like in every place.

I toured Parmer Woods at North Austin. The staff was friendly. They have a good activities director. He's got a lot of energy. They have a lot of things going on, so that helps. It's a nice facility and it's clean. They like to work with you and be fair about things. I got a good price for the room. The food I heard is good from the reviews and that's important for me. The people were active there. They're moving around, there's always someone there. They're happy, they tend to like it there. I ask them and everyone likes it.

Please look for other facilities. When you are taken on a tour, they will point out all the things that in hindsight are not important at all. What is important are the people who are caring for your loved one. The staff and administration turned over frequently. so, there’s no commitment. MEMORY CARE residence are placed in front of a television and that is what they consider engagement. Do they ever sit and visit with Your loved one-no. Do they get to know them? No -how often do they take them outside hardly ever. What about those gardens that they were going to involve residents in maintaining? No Bathroom not kept clean. Tired A feeling that if I am not there, our loved one is not taken care of. That is not what you want.

This facility has potential to be highly rated. But with high turnover of administration, there was never anyone in charge or who had a vision or who held anyone accountable for high expectations. Your loved one will basically sit in front of a television in a group setting. Even people and MEMORY CARE deserve conversation and mental engagement. Feces left on floors and door frames in rooms were left uncleaned. Attention to resident health was haphazard. (Ex:oxygen levels, patients falling, and not found for longer than necessary ) Food was good. What was said in the brochure and advertisements never really panned out. Waited a year for broken raised vegetable garden beds to be repaired. Never did see the gardens that were discussed. There are better places.

My father stayed at Parmer Woods at North Austin for a couple of years. It's a much larger place than where he is now. They have both assisted living and memory care in one building. Ignoring hygiene for a couple of weeks at a time, not being present when you're trying to find them, having a high turnover, and not having staff, except one person in the entire department, that had been there more than a year were reasons why I gave the staff a two-star rating. They would bring in musicians, and they did trivia in the TV room. They also seemed to be emphasizing having just the TV movies a lot these days. Communication with management is difficult and they don't seem to be very responsive to the residents. My mother is still there.

My father is in Parmer Woods at North Austin. We liked the outdoor garden walking area; it was very large and shaded. We liked the size of the rooms and the floor plan options. We liked the activities that we were told would be available. The rooms have a small kitchen with a refrigerator, a microwave, and sink. They have a large courtyard. However, I would give the medical administrative staff a score of 1. Those are the nurses and the administrators who are in charge. The administrator, the business manager, and the lady at the front desk quit after we got there. There are certain needs that a patient has, and you pay extra to support those needs. Those needs were not supported until we brought it to their attention after several weeks. People were not present to do their job, and my father did not receive the attention he should have received for the extra money we paid.

I toured the Parmer Woods at North Austin last week. I saw the assisted living, and I texted the lady yesterday that I would like to see the memory care, and know more about the activities. The staff was nice, I liked them, they were very friendly, and everybody spoke to me while I was walking down the hall. They're upgrading their building, I've been there a long time ago, they have a lot of new renovations, and it's just looking a lot brighter and up to date. The dining room was very spacious. At that time I think they were having an ice cream social or something. Somebody was playing the piano, and they were singing.

Parmer Woods at North Austin was really nice and very spacious. I didn't see any activities, but I know that they had them just from discussing it with the person who gave us the tour. It was very clean, very bright, and had lots of windows. I would give it high ratings. The rooms were very nice.

It was the one we really wanted our dad to go to, but they didn't have any room for him. We were really impressed with it. They had a really nice dining hall, which was available all day long. They had lots of activities.
