My mother moved to Brookdale North Austin during the Covid 19 crisis. Even with all the uncertainty, Darlene and the rest of the staff did everything possible to make my mom feel cared for and welcomed. We haven’t been allowed to visit but my mom’s spirits seemed buoyed by the kind assistants here. Her room is very clean and pleasant( saw on video) and the chef has been nice to accommodate her requests for her favorite yoghurt. Very pleased with our experience.

Brookdale North Austin was very good. I liked it very much. The memory care was clean and well-kept. The person that showed us around was very friendly and knowledgeable. Their cafeteria also looked clean and well-kept. They had an activity room where they did some physical therapy and stuff like that, and they all looked very organized. They had an outdoor area where people could go out and enjoy the outdoors. It was nice.

Brookdale North Austin was great. They're very warm and welcoming. It's much older. It could use quite a big renovation to fix it back up, but it's nice. It's just very dated. The staff was all very nice. They all know the residents. They're very engaging.

Brookdale North Austin was an older community, so it's well established. The corridors are very wide, and that was nice. We wanted one that had an actual door to the bedroom, and this was just more like an alcove. Everyone was friendly. The food was not offered, but one of the residents said it was very good. The food is restaurant-style. They have tables, and you can order off a menu, so that was kind of nice. I think they had a library.

We toured Brookdale North Austin. The facility is not as pretty, but their staff makes up for it. The rooms were clean. We didn't try food, but everything on the menu was good. We liked what we saw. They have activities. We liked it because my dad could have his own apartment. We can help him furnish it, and it was affordable. It was a nice place. It was dated, but it was still clean and very nice. They said they are going to update it.

The staff member at Brookdale North Austin was very, very helpful. It was Britney that I was talking to, she helped me with all kinds of information. I was concerned with the price and how I was going to work with Medicare, and she was telling me how things work out. She went through the process of how the system works and gave me other information. Her primary focus was to make sure that my mom received the best care whether we chose her facility or not. The place was clean and friendly, the staff was engaging with the clients regularly, and they knew everybody's name. The rooms and all the common areas were very clean. I felt like my mother would be safe there. The facility itself is older, but they're taking care of it.

Brookdale North Austin seemed older, and it seemed like it's more of a nursing home kind of a place, if you will. It didn't seem like it wasn't as nice as the other places we saw. It was older inside and out and it just didn't have the appeal. There wasn't nearly as much activity for the people and not as many things to do. There weren't many people out and about like they were at the other places. There were a lot more people in the halls and the dining room at the other places than at Brookdale. The lady that assisted us was really good, we liked her and she did a good job. She was honest, she was open to us, she gave us a discount. They were the cheapest of those we toured. The lady that went over everything was good, and that's the positive side. The negative side is that she was like the manager or director, we were supposed to meet with the assisted director but she wasn't there. So we got put with the director, which ended up being good for us. But we didn't get to meet with the person we were supposed to meet with. We had a meal onsite and it was good, we liked it. They had a TV room to watch TV, they have a little game room, and an area where they play games, but it was very small. There were a few things to do, but like one thing a day, whereas others had multiple like two things a day. So it was more limited in the activities. I didn't like them very much for the size of the rooms, for the look of the place, although it wasn't that bad. Some of the rooms seemed more dated and some of the walls needed more paint. I'd suggest they do a little more upgrades and maybe bigger rooms.

I went to Brookdale North Austin. That's the one where you can have a roommate in there. Their square footage of the rooms was bigger than some of the other ones. I like that. I like the layout, and I like the square footage. The lunchroom opens up onto the outside part; I like that. It was nice, and they had a homey feeling. The staff who assisted me was very good. The lunchroom wasn't as nice as some of the other ones I saw. It was just kind of OK. The movie area didn't have many chairs in there to watch a movie. It was a good layout where you could go to the center, which was outside from different parts; I like that.

I visited Brookdale North Austin. I looked at the assisted living side and they also showed me the memory care area. The staff for both assisted living and memory care were all very friendly, courteous, and really nice. The rooms were a good size. I saw a puzzle table and a pool table, which I hadn't seen in other places. I also saw the activity rooms. They have 2 different ones. One where they could color and make things. The other one where they could do exercise with things like dumbbells, and exercise bikes. From there, you could go out into the courtyard and it was a big area. The is a nice trail to walk in and I really like it. For memory care, they also have a separate section. They have a section for computers and a vast library with different books that the clients could go and see. For meals they could go in and pick whatever they wanted to eat based on their menu. I thought that was nice too.

Don't buy what they are giving, it is all for show. They truly don't care whether the person lives or dies. You get mixed messages, incorrect dosage of medications and just lack of empathy. They show favoritism to certain residents.

Our experience at Brookdale North Austin has been pretty good. They've been pretty attentive and always welcoming. They're all really great. My mom says that everyone's really nice to her. The place is very clean and pretty nice. My mom's room is really nice and overlooks the courtyard in the middle. I really like the layout of the place as it's basically a square. I like the quaint feeling of the place. The food is OK, but I'd prefer more vegetables. It could be better but they're pretty good with everything else. My mom goes to exercise every day, music class, Bbingo, brain teaser classes, and shopping in different stores.

I was very pleased with Brookdale North Austin. It feels very homey and it seems to be set up in a good way. It's personal, but also facilitates the staff interacting with the residents. Overall, the place was very pleasing. They have a game and workout room, an atrium, and there's a park-like center of the building surrounded by corridors. Every room seems to have windows opening out either to the interior courtyard or the exterior, so there's a great deal of natural light, which I thought was excellent. It's a place I'd like to put my mother.

My mother-in-law is a resident of Brookdale. She first became a resident almost two years ago and lived in the assisted-living area. The staff was wonderful. They did everything possible to make her feel at home and improve her health. She became much more active and participated in many activities. There were many trips to the movies, the library and nearby stores. She really loved the monthly themed parties. My mother-in-law felt very cared for. She enjoyed the dining hall where she ordered each meal from a daily menu. As her dementia progressed, she moved to the Memory Care Unit. She is getting much more individualized care there and for that we are grateful. The facilities have recently been remodeled and are very attractive. The one story building has been ideal and easier for my mother-in-law to navigate. The attention and concern could not be better.

I went to Brookdale North Austin. At that time, it was being refurbished, and I wasn't too impressed. I was very disappointed with the memory care. The rooms were too small for me. The staff was nice, but they had so much to work with. It just did not look like the place I would want to put my mother.

The staff of Brookdale North Austin was very friendly. The place was very bright and very clean, and I would feel very comfortable having my mother there. The dining rooms were great. It was a restaurant-style cafeteria with set, very nice tables set. The meals looked healthy and well rounded, so I was very pleased. They had reading areas, movie areas, and TVs. I didn’t see anything that I thought needed improving. The rooms were very clean, and they were doing some updates on some of the rooms that they showed me. Overall, I was just very pleased.

My mom stayed at Brookdale North Austin. I will never trust a Brookdale again. Their business office did not file for her long-term insurance in the right place. They also had problems with her medications. They would call me Saturday or Sunday evening and ask me to go a pharmacy because mom was out of her medicines and they failed to call the pharmacy in time. I did not like that. When we are about to move my mother out, the director sent my movers away telling them that we postponed the move. That was nasty behavior. They made a lot of promises but nothing really changed.

Brookdale was very nice and very clean. It wasn’t a newer place, but in some respect, that’s good because it makes you feel like you’re at home. All in all it was very much some place where I would put my father. At this point, it’s his choice, but if I had to do it tomorrow, Brookdale would definitely be in the top five. It’s situated around the courtyard with lots of nice, older trees and shade. People were out enjoying even though it was hot in the summertime.

Brookdale North Austin was a good facility. They did offer all the services my father needed. In fact, this was the facility where we agreed to put my father into. Everything was fine, but the only problem was they didn't have a room for him right away. However, I would recommend Brookdale North Austin before any of the other ones for a lot of reasons.

Emeritus (Brookdale North Austin) was good, but it wasn't as close to my house, and it didn't have the independent living option. The rooms were fine and well maintained. I liked the cleanliness of the place.

Everybody was wonderful at Brookdale North Austin. It felt like my dad would enjoy it there. The dining room was really great. The residents were very pleasant. The rooms were cool. They left me with a very good impression so much that we paid them for the first month because we were just ready to bring him in before he passed away.

Brookdale is an average place. The staff is helpful. My dad is in a shared room, and it is adequate. The food is good. They have activities like exercise. They take them places. They have concert, TV, movies, board games, and poker nights. The value and the care stand out to me.

My mom has been in Emeritus at North Austin for four years. I like that it is really close to where we live. The staff is good and friendly. She's in an apartment. They have a menu for the day but she is not very happy with the food. They need to improve on the food. The activities are very good and she loves it. They have bingo, wine-tasting, puzzles and games. They have entertainers and bands come in to sing or play the guitar. They have a lot of parties and a lot of things going on. She likes it there.

Emeritus seemed to be very caring, and my mom is adjusting very well there. Everything seems to be going real well. The room has a bathroom and a little kitchenette. It has a sink, a refrigerator, and microwave. The dining area has a restaurant setup. They have a couple of daily activities. She has exercise every morning and is doing well. They could improve on their choice of food.

They were my second choice. The only reason why I didn’t like Emeritus at North Austin is because the location was kind of hard to get to, but everything else was wonderful. It wasn’t new and modern, but it was clean and organized, and friendly. The front door was only locked at night, which was a concern; and the other concern was that the location was difficult for my family to get to. My mother is elderly and she would have a hard time driving there from where she lives in Taylor, so that was a big deciding factor.

We chose this facility because of their size. We needed respite care and just needed a short stay. They were willing to accommodate her gluten free diet and do a good job of it. They had an extra service which was to come to your house, pick up furniture that she might want and any knick knacks so she feels at home. The food is good and the people, who work there, are very caring, friendly and accommodating.

I really liked this property for my Mother. I had visited 1 or 2 other facilities in the local area. What I liked about Emeritus North Austin was the fact that the people were very responsive to our needs, It fit well within our budget, It was very clean, It is a pet friendly facility, And The food was great! The Manager of the food staff met us and served us lunch. Shortly after we moved my Mom in, there was a turnover in staff. The quality of service and food went down. Some of the Med Tech's seem to be stingy with pain medication and show a lack of concern as to the way her medication should be administered.

My wife started volunteering at Emeritus Senior Living by painting finger nails of the female residents every Wednesday. This is how she found out about a Valentine's day dinner they were hosting. As soon as she mentioned it, I jumped at the opportunity to help out.On the day of the dinner, my wife gave me the tour of the place. It was clean, the staff was funny and friendly. They seem to enjoy their work. My wife and I helped out by serving drinks and food to the residents and guests of Emeritus Senior Living. I noticed how well taken care of the residents were. The staff was very accomodating and it seemed to me that the residents were happy there. My wife also has nothing but good things to say about this place. If I ever had to live in an assisted living place, I would definitely want a place of this quality.

We went to see the Emeritus at North Austin facility while looking at options for our uncle in the area. The grounds resembled a colonial style motel, not unlike many we've visited and stayed at before. The french style doors seemed welcoming. The staff seemed friendly and kind. The living spaces we saw were modern, clean and efficient, with plenty of lighting. The decors were sufficient, some resembling a dorm room - but larger and with private baths - some of which had hardwood floors. This struck us, since those units had carpeting. There were plenty of seating areas along the outer exterior, close to the building, which is really nice. Our uncle really enjoys being outdoors. On the side of the building there is a lovely gazebo gracing the center. The spacious seating areas throughout the facility provide a welcoming hotel atmosphere, where residents may enjoy looking outside the many windows. There are plenty of visiting areas with french doors that look out to patios. The dining area was really spacious -- with lots of room between tables for a more private effect. The food looked very appetizing and the menu featured healthy alternatives that all looked like they would be delicious as well as nutritious. A variety of snacks are available throughout the day. There is also an informal kitchen area where residents may take their meals. The library is stocked with some great books and has french doors and opens into one of the general living areas. The residents may also visit the local library for more selections, and the staff will help them to download books on a computer if they like. There is a nice salon where residents may enjoy spa and grooming services. Many activities are scheduled throughout the day for seniors to enjoy, such as walks, exercise, music, TV, films, arts and crafts and readings. Because of its proximity to Lake Travis - the residents get to enjoy outings there on a regular basis, where they can go on boat rides, picnic and enjoy the wildlife with other families and their loved ones, if they like. The staff interacted well with the residents, some of whom were not entirely ambulatory. This is a mid-sized community that can handle a variety of resident situations, which we liked. They can easily adapt to the needs of the residents. A very nice living environment for seniors.
