We chose Arbor Terrace of Knoxville for my brother because of the price and location and it offered all the services that he needed including memory care. He started in assisted living but he will be moved to memory care as needed. The staff is very good. The food was very good. They have therapy, a barbershop, a salon, and activities. They do transportation to his doctor appointments and laundry.

While they have MANY good people working there, who really care about the residents, we were “lied to” and had to move my Mom. I’m sharing this in hopes of preventing others from having to go through the same pains and hassle. Their food and food service was very substandard, which was a BIG misrepresentation, during their sales pitch. Much of it canned and always served on styrofoam with plastic utensils. Their sign in/accountability system is cumbersome and inefficient. And most importantly, they couldn’t seem to pay close enough attention in administering my Mom’s many medicines and because of that, the meds most likely were frequently not working properly. Don’t make the same mistake we made. Look around. There ARE better places in the area.

My mother has been at Arbor Terrace for 8+ years. I am so thankful this was the assisted living we picked for her. I cannot describe all the extra caring things they have done for her. The staff basically saved her life when she had covid. The professionalism shown through these difficult months has been exceptional. Thank you, everyone at Arbor Terrace of Koxville.

I very much appreciate the caring and professionalism of the staff. My wife is well cared for and I don't worry about her while she is at Arbor Terrace. The rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained.

This assisted living community was wonderful to my husband. He was able to spend his last days in hospice and received excellent care. Not only did they care for my husband but they also took care of our family during the process. I recommend Arbor Terrace of Knoxville to anyone looking for a caring and safe place for a loved one.

We toured Arbor Terrace of Knoxville, and we loved it. It just has too many floors and was too large. It was fantastic, but she would have to go through an elevator. I just did not like that. The staff was wonderful. Food was included in their package.

I chose Arbor Terrace of Knoxville for my husband because they have over eighty years of combined staff experience. That tells me that it's a very nice place. I had several recommendations from my friends who had people there, and the staff is very, very good. He hasn't been there that long, but I can tell that they're very caring. They call me every day to let me know how things are going. I just had a good feeling when I walked into the facility, and my pastor actually said that he has been to many nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and when he walked in there, he felt warm. I did a drive-by before I went in, and the facility looked very well kept, too.

Where to begin. Mom was living independently in South Carolina when she sustained a fall requiring hospitalizations, surgery, and rehab. After visiting several facilities I decided on Arbor Terrace. The grounds were well kept, staff was polite, and the residents appeared well taken care of. She has a wonderful one bedroom apartment overlooking the garden. Her cat is very entertained by all the birds that come to her feeder. Mom is so happy where she is at. She calls it home, even though in the beginning she never thought she would. She looks forward to bingo and goes to exercise class every morning. She has taken trips to the art museum, Steinmart, and even a boat ride. I usually eat dinner with her 1 or 2 nights a week and the food is quite good. I find great comfort knowing that she is so well cared for and most of all, happy. Words cannot express how much i love the facility and all the staff.

My father is at Arbor Terrace. He is close to my sister. This place is lovely. I would highly recommend it. They have activities, and there is very little turnover in the staff. They know my father. He feels very much loved by them.

My best friend has been at Arbor Terrace for 1year. The first several months were OK but her satisfaction has been declining rapidly. She is very mentally alert but her body is failing. Some staff members are great but the majority are there to collect a paycheck. Meals are so-so and special requests are ignored or staff doesn't pay attention. When ice is requested in her room, they actually "Charge" her. I can't believe it! They have not been very accommodating. For a resident who doesn't have all their mental faculties it would be OK. Currently, I'm looking for another Assisted Living Facility so my friend can live her final years in happiness!

I like the quality of care that they give my friend and the enthusiasm of the staff. They seem to be very caring. They are all full time with benefits, so they care about their job, and many of them have been there for years. They have a memory care unit, but in the regular units, they have one very small room, which would be only good for temporary. Then they have a very large studio that has a little kitchenette, a nice big bathroom, and a nice big room, and they have a smaller two-room suite where one room is a bedroom and one room is a small living room. Most of them have a decent view. They have activities everyday like trips two or three times a day to different places in town either for lunch or to a play, and trips to grocery stores and Wal-Mart. They have music every day, exercise classes, game nights, and birthday parties with ice cream. One of the reasons why we chose Arbor Terrace of Knoxville was because they had a very nice garden.

I looked at Arbor Terrace. My wife would have been on the Alzheimer's unit on the third floor and would go up and down with an elevator, and I didn't like that. The dining room looked fine. I just walked through the building, but it looks good from the street. It's in an area where that the streets flood occasionally. The staff that assisted me were very nice and very accommodating.

Arbor Terrace of Knoxville was a beautiful place, I liked the location, and they seemed clean and nice, but it just didn't quite fit our needs as far as the size of the room. They were fine, but they weren't big enough for our king-sized bed, and that was what I wanted. The bigger ones were not available during my visit.

The Arbor Terrace is a very nice place. The staff working there is fine. The only problem I have with them is the location. When it rains in this area, it floods out in the street and the police would block that street. They don't want you driving there. I think it is dangerous if there's bad weather, especially when you couldn't even drive out there. Another issue is that it has three floors and their Alzheimer's patients are on the third floor. My wife has trouble walking even before her Alzheimer's set in, so this set-up would be a problem.

My mother didn't think she will like it at Arbor Terrace and she agreed to go for one week and she's been there two weeks now and she said she can't live without it. Arbor Terrace is wonderful. I like to move there myself. It is like a cruise ship that never leaves the shore. It has lots of activities, things to do, things to keep their brains stimulated. Her room is fully furnished and beautiful. The shower is just one-inch step in and they clean it once a week. They do her laundry and empty her trash daily. The staff comes in and care for her. They have a necklace pendant around her to know where she is at all time and what's she's doing. Everybody is very friendly. We spent as much as time there with her because we love it so much. The food is delicious. They reflect the fanciest hotel you've ever seen.

My parents are both in their early 90's and have been residents of the Arbor Terrace assisted living for 6-9 months. We looked at several facilities in the area and found this to be the best fit for location, level of care, and dedication of staff. It is very much a family atmosphere. Each resident is thoroughly evaluated up front and the level of care is established. My Dad requires the highest level of assistance and he gets very good care from a staff of very caring individuals. They challenge him daily to do the most that he can. My Mom needs minimal care, mainly medication administration. There are many, many activities offered daily to keep this group of residents sharp, both physically and mentally. Family members are encouraged to visit and participate as much as possible. Any changes in health conditions are reported to us immediately. It's also comforting to know that the Memory unit is available on the third floor should the need arise. This is a secure unit but staffed by many of the same familiar faces. The food is nutritious and well prepared. I believe the cost is comparable to others in the area and much less than 24 hour home care. We have been very pleased thus far for selecting Arbor Terrace.

We recently moved my mother to Arbor Terrace in order to be close to my wife and I, as well as her grandchildren. The staff has impressed us with their knowledge, attention to detail and their organized approach. The care plan for my mother is well laid out and was communicated in a way that is easy to understand. The facility is somewhere you would be proud for your loved one to live.It is very inviting. The outdoor garden space adds to the home like atmosphere.

My grandmother has been living in Arbor Terrace for the past two years, and my family and I have been very pleased with the level of care that she has received. The staff at Arbor Terrace have made every effort to allow her to live as independently as possible, and even with her failing memory, they have been sure to give her opportunities to socialize with other residents. She is still in good health, and I largely credit the care she has received for that. The facility is clean and the apartments do not seem like a hospital facility. The level of communication between staff members and our family has been appropriate, and the staff puts on several outreach events every year (such as Thanksgiving dinner) that allows our family to spend time with my grandmother. Though it is by no means the least expensive assisted living center in Knoxville, I think that it is an excellent value, and I would highly recommend it for other families that are considering where to place their loved one.

When my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in early 2010, she moved in with my mother. Unfortunately, she declined rapidly. Soon, the burden of bathing her, feeding her and taking care of her was too much. We found Arbor Terrace at the recommendation of one of her doctors. Although this home offers assisted living services, they also specialize in helping patients with memory issues. She entered the home in late 2010. Since that time, we have become quite close to some of the staff members. They take excellent care of my grandmother. I feel comfortable knowing she is there. We visit with her at least once a week. The rooms are nice, and she shares a room with another woman. The food is actually really great, and my grandmother still gets to garden from time to time. I would recommend this nursing home. I can't speak for the assisted living part of the facility, but they take excellent care of the patients with degenerative memory issues.
