My brother moved to American House West Knoxville. It was nice. His apartment is big and nice. The upkeep is excellent. He hasn't complained about the food, so I would think it's probably good. The staff was very kind, very caring, and very helpful.

American House West Knoxville was clean. We like the place. The lady was great. She was very nice. She had a lot of experience, especially with memory care patients. We were impressed with her. She did a good job. They showed us a menu and everything about what they had. Everything was clean. I thought the memory care place was just a little bit dark. The apartments were laid out fine, but they were a little bit smaller.

The food used to be okay. Subpar but edible. Since the new manager took over, it’s been absolutely horrible. They run out of food mid service, if they even had the food to begin with. The meals are never what’s on the menu. There’s a substitution list that they regularly don’t have the ingredients to accommodate. My mother was served chicken that was burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. The portion sizes are smaller than I’d feed my 2 year old grandson. We’re looking for a new place for mom, and we know other residents at her table are also looking. The RAs and nurses are good but mom has lost 25 ibs being here. We regularly have to doordash her food when we can’t get down there. Absolutely ridiculous. The kitchen needs to be taken over by someone who actually knows what they are doing. I look at other reviews and recognize names of management and HR. So they’re spamming all these sites with fake reviews to hide the real ones.

We went to American House West Knoxville. We like the community facilities and the library. There was a flexible type room used for chapel and for meetings and things like that. The main lobby was very attractive. It's a nice place to sit and relax. We didn't have a meal there, but the dining room looked nice. It's important to have some outdoor and indoor walking spaces, and they had some of that. The people seemed to be very nice and friendly. We went downstairs and it was decent enough, but it wasn't the same as upstairs. I understand that if my wife is eventually sent to memory care, which will probably happen sooner or later, she wouldn't have access to those places upstairs except on special events. It reminds me a little bit more of a motel downstairs than someplace to live. I understand that they can't have all the same amenities downstairs that they had upstairs. The man who gave us the tour was very pleasant and informative. That was the main person we interacted with. A nurse did an evaluation of my wife and in that evaluation, I got the sense that it would be not too long before she would be in memory care. The cleanliness wasn't a problem downstairs. It just didn't feel as good down there. It feels a little bit like you're in a basement. It just wasn't nearly as beautiful and cheerful as upstairs. The atmosphere was quite positive. The courtyard was very nice. One of the attractions for me is it wouldn't be too far to drive to visit my wife most days.

My friend moved into American House West Knoxville. I think he's happy there. He's only been there a week, but he seems to be doing fine. I've been there twice and I think it's very nice. They've just renovated it 2 years ago, I think. It's nicer than where he was before and I think it's more reasonable, too. His sister seems to like it and his room is nice. The people are very friendly and helpful. His room is spacious, it's two rooms. He's got a corner view and a decent view, and he's got a lot of nice windows that are brightening the room up. The colors of the building are nice, warm colors. There's also this little library that my friend is very happy to be able to access. It's a large room that could be used to just hang out and read if you want to. It's kind of a peaceful but very attractive room, and there are quite a few books in there. The dining area is very nice. There's a craft area, and he's played bingo a few times. He loves to exercise. There is a gym that doesn't have very much equipment in it, but at least there is a place where he could go. Everything is on the same floor, which is nice. From the outside, the building looks like it's small, but you go inside and it's quite large. It's got a lot of rooms in it. The receptionist, Laura, is very nice. She's been there a very long time. There's a little movie area that's comfortable where people can congregate and sit there and watch a movie. And there's a little fountain in the middle for attractiveness. Prior to that, he was not eating much. He said his stomach would hurt and he didn't like food that much. But he's eating now. He's got his appetite back, and he said the food is good.

I like the people at American House West Knoxville, and I like the overall place itself. It's not a small place, and they have things for the people. They all seem to love the people there. The staff is excellent. They're very interested in the people, and they are taking good care of them. My brother's room is very nice. It's a good-sized room and very efficient because of a wheelchair. He is in assisted living, and he has been there for two weeks now. The dining area is very nice, and they give them a list, and they let them choose. For activities, they play bingo, and they have some people play music. It's very nice. Value for money is OK.

We went to American House West Knoxville, I did not like it there. They were remodeling so everything was ripped to shreds, and I understand that, but everything was kinda old. Their memory care was in the basement and you had to go down the elevator to the basement unit, and I didn't like that at all. They were nice, but no, it felt old. They were clean and updating everything, so that was probably a bad impression. The rooms were very small and dark. We went down to the memory care and they had a really old furniture set for a little get-together room. The receptionist and some of the people we met were very nice. They were doing some kind of drum music thing up in the assisted living, they had somebody singing and it looked like they were having a good time.

American House West Knoxville was a nice facility. I didn't see anything wrong with it. I think the price point was too high for us for my in-laws. The staff was very friendly. We saw the activity calendar and stuff like that. They had bingo, they had movie nights, and they take them out for trips like shopping. Those were the things we saw.

During my tour with American House West Knoxville, I wasn't very impressed. The rooms and the facility were smaller. It didn't have as many amenities and the pricing was very similar to others I have visited. It was more outdated, and things weren't improved at all, it was kind of an older facility. The staff were very nice, and they showed me around the whole facility. But for the pricing, it didnt compare at all to the other facility we have chosen. The rooms were just smaller, and they didn't have any built-in shelves or cabinets. They had activities and an activity schedule, a library, and a little activity room. They should be updating everything, maybe providing more amenities if possible. The one room that I looked at was private. They were pretty decent on the cleanliness side. I only met one person on the staff, and she was very nice.

I went to American House West Knoxville. We were not at all impressed with the facility. The facility was dirty. It's old, it's overpriced. It would not be someplace I would put a loved one. The staff was fine. The rating has to do mainly with the pricing. It's like New York City pricing. It's not West Knoxville pricing.

My friend is in American House West Knoxville. Honestly, I had to fuss and argue with them. They made a lot of promises when they tried to get us to sign, such as they told us that one room was going to be available and then the day that we were moving in, it was a different room. They told us that he didn't have to have carpet. He could have the vinyl planking put in because he's in a wheelchair and it's easier to move around, he's fairly young, and he's probably gonna be there for years. They told us that he could have that planking and then the day we get there, I caught somebody in there cleaning dirty old carpet, and I said, "What are you doing?" She goes, "Well, someone's moving in here today." I said, "No, he's not." I went out there and threw a temper tantrum and told them that they tried to pull the bait-and-switch. I'm not very happy with their food there either. Other than that, I guess my friend is doing OK. Now that I threw a temper tantrum, I don't have any problems there. I just don't like to have to do that. He has a bedroom and a living room. His quarters are larger than most of the places that I visited. He has a kitchenette there, so he's able to have a microwave, a refrigerator, and things like that, so that's helpful to him. Another thing that went wrong is that they said that they provided internet for everybody, that the wi-fi was free, and when we got in there, it was not. They said it was because he lived on the far corner, but when I plugged his computer on, I noticed all of the local accounts that were right next to him. That was another thing that they lied about. They said that you got free wi-fi, but the people are paying for their wi-fi. The salespeople did the bait-and-switch. I think all assisted living is ridiculously expensive. It's unbelievable how pricy it is.

My mom moved in, and it is fantastic. Their facility is wonderful. It has a hair salon, arts and crafts (that she loves to do), and lots of entertainment. My mother loves the food. They are amazing. The personnel there is fantastic, very friendly, and very perceptive about what is needed. They are quick to respond when she calls them on the little clicker that they gave her. They have a physical therapy room, so they offer podiatry and physical therapy.

My parents have moved in, and it's good so far. They're in the same unit, and my mother is getting her higher level of care. They're more cheerful than what they had before. Their apartment is nice, and we got everything set up. It's good sized and more than adequate for them. It's a 2-room unit with a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchenette area. Everyone was very nice. Nursing care is very timely in bringing their medications. They said the food is good. They are planning to do some updates, new carpet and things like that.

This facility has been an excellent location overall for my husband. It is quite secure. The staff provide a calm, kind, respectful, and nurturing environment for residents. They also do a good job of involving family in activities. There is a visiting NP and neurologist weekly, and PT and OT on site.

My dad was in the assisted living. It was a very nice place and very comfortable for my dad, but he started falling and had to go into memory care. I wasn't crazy about the memory care part of their community. It seemed too gloomy and felt like it was in a basement. I didn't care for that. The assisted living level was very nice. They had lots of activities that kept him busy. The staff was great, everybody was very friendly and they seemed to have everything there for him. His room was a studio.

I liked it, it was a really nice, homey facility with nice programs. When I was there, they had a choir visiting upstairs, so they had taken a lot of residents upstairs. They had a veterans' wall, which was really nice. They took them on adventures.

It was very good too, and it was also my top choice. It was very nice. They had people doing activities, people sitting outside, and a walkway. It was an older facility, but it was very clean.

It had small rooms, and that’s the reason why I did not take it. The environment seemed to be alright. The staff was very nice; they take us around and showed us everything.

It was very impressive and very bright. Everybody is very friendly and very professional; my friend is very happy with it. The dining room is very nice. What impressed us was that everybody that was on staff wore an outfit that you knew that they were on staff; I noticed that very much in the dining room.

My relative just moved in today. She got the largest room, and it was probably one of the nicest sized rooms that you could get anywhere. We went to the Thanksgiving feast, and we actually had dinner there tonight and the food was good. They do have a very full schedule, and there is a big calendar of events. The staff is excellent at all levels. What impressed me most is the friendliness of the staff and the residents.

It was very nice and we liked it a lot. We needed an assisted living place, however, and not an independent living. The size of the rooms was very nice; it was very clean, neat, and tidy with very wide windows. They have just about everything you want in terms of activities. The staff was very nice.

I am now living here, and I found them over the Internet. I chose this facility because they had the room I wanted and they allowed my pet. The facility is good. Their food is mediocre. None of them are really great, but it's all right. The people who work here are very excellent, and they give me good service.

The only thing that I didn't care for is that the people with Alzheimer's are situated downstairs. They have to ride up and down the elevators. My wife had trouble walking even before she got Alzheimer's. For that reason, it wasn't very practical for us. However, this facility looks very nice. The ground is very well-landscaped and they have trees there. They also allow pets.

It is a lovely facility that really does focus on getting the residents up and about. They have so many activities planned on a daily basis that there is always something that will appeal to any resident. They have a great fenced in yard area in the back with lots of picnic tables that are a popular spot when it gets warm outside. The dining room is also really nice and actually makes you feel like you are dining out in a restaurant. Overall this facility is very good.
