Trinity Homecare was referred to me by my kidney doctor. The care was good. I spent six weeks in the hospital; I had complications and pneumonia. I was on dialysis, had gotten very weak and could hardly stand up or walk. They helped me build my muscle tone back up. I was very pleased with their service.

I toured Trinity on Laurens. It was a well-laid out. The rooms were smaller overall like they will only fit a twin bed, and you couldn't fit a full-sized bed, so most people use the beds at the facility. But the staff was very thorough. It is in a downtown location, which is very nice. It makes it more accessible to the things that little Aiken has to offer. The menu looked good, it seemed a little more limited in terms of the daily offerings, but it still looked very good. The staff was very conscientious and very thorough. They had the typical amenities. They have a barbershop, a bus, and a couple of nice courtyards. One nice thing about Trinity on Laurens is that they have a lot of outside porches. And because it's downtown, it's kind of nice, and you can sit outside. Most of the rooms that we saw had an exterior exposure. In other words, there's a window or something, which is nice.

Trinity on Laurens was a clean place. The one apartment I saw was nicely laid out and I liked the fact that it had a full kitchen (with a stove, a refrigerator, some storage, and a sink). I still enjoy cooking, so I would like to cook a little now and then, while still be able to partake in their meals. The dining room was nice. They only offer one meal a day, so I will either make my lunch or my dinner. They had a nice laundry room setup with plenty of washers and dryers. They're not coin-operated, so that was nice, and they had a big metal rack where you can hang your clothes up and an ironing board. They have an activity room. They were having something going on, so we didn't go in there. They also do ice cream socials, some church stuff, therapy dogs that come in, chair yoga, other exercises, and a social and happy hour get-together. There's parking, (which is nice because I'll still be using my car), nice sitting rooms, and big areas where you could sit at. Also, what was intriguing was when you go down the hall and pass a couple of apartments, there'd be a little alcove on each side with two chairs and a table with a lamp on. They said that a lot of people will just sit there while their apartments are being cleaned. I thought that was kind of nice.

The staff at Trinity on Laurens was professional, the facility was clean, they had good COVID controls, and the location was ideal for downtown Aiken. They discussed the daily activities that they do for the patients and the amenities. They have daily lunch and the residents are allowed to eat in the common lunch area. They have a bus that takes them to different places, shopping, and things like that. In terms of amenities, they have nothing major, but there were a couple of stationary bikes, not a full gym.
