Finally I have a chance to post my review, to the staff at Chestnut Hill Lodge Rehabilitation I'm forever greatful to everyone that my family had interactions with. Just to drop a few names that I do remember Jen, Shonda, Cliff, Lindsay, Robin, Keena, Candace, Shawn you all were wonderful. I do apologize if I forgot anyone. Just like any other Rehabilitation Facility or nursing home you have to communicate take the time to speak with the staff. My mother was admitted for rehab from having covid, she was there the end of March 2022 to May 2022 she was in room C3. The staff we had interactions with was nothing but great. My mother happened to be there as they were going through new management. Jen in admissions just asked if we were not happy with things to please communicate with them and allow them to fix whats wrong. They are human and will not get everything right. The maintenance crew I don't know their names but they kept my mother's room on point and I thank you all for that. Sure I saw a ant or 2 but that's it no roaches as I see from previous reviews. All the CNA's nursing staff and Dr Thank you. The food when my mother 1st started was horrible but towards the end of her stay it was improved. That's the only reason I gave a 4 star rating. Since discharge my mother has been doing great . So thank you all again for your caring hearts and for all that you do because I know during this covid times things are rough. God Bless you all. The place is filthy and crawling with roaches. I have a loved one in there and his care is poor. The nurses give him the wrong medication. His belongings keep going missing and when he was hospitalized from there they told us he was at a completely different hospital then where he actually was. He constantly complains that the staff is too rough with him. This place needs to be shut down. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVE ONES HERE!

My ex-husband/friend was placed in this facility in 2020. I could not visit until recently because of COVID. The condition of his room in the dementia wing was deplorable. The toilet area had gnats/small flies everywhere and the entire floor was wet. I checked his drawers and closet and he had no clothes. The closet and drawers had nothing but trash. I asked about his clothes and was told that they were in the laundry. I spoke with his social worker, DON and other staff and was promised that they would retrieve his clothes. My family member's beard and hair were overgrown and he complained that his feet hurt. Upon removing his sneakers, his toenails looked like they had not been cut in months. (I took pictures of the room as well as him). I also took on the rather tedious job of shaving his beards after I was told that I couldn't take to the barber until they get permission from his "guardian." I also trimmed his toenails. When I visited 5 days later, he was wearing the same clothes and there was still no clothes in his room. I went back the following day with clothes and other stuff that I spent almost $250 for and dropped them off. I returned again on the 15th of December and he was smelly and his clothes, except for a few pieces were still not in his room. I tried to reach the DON, but was transferred to the administrator who told me that the DON will not be speaking with me. Please note that this is not an isolated situation on this wing. I witnessed a staff yelling at a resident who touch her shoulder. Families need to be diligent and check on their loved ones. Also, someone needs to check on why laundry is not being done at this facility. HELP!

Absolutely horrible. Staff do not wash hands or a clean equipment between patients. They stink of cigarettes and are loud and yell in the corridors to one another using profanity. They would not say what meds they were giving me just saying "I don't have time for that". Food horrible...lost 8 pounds the first week because I could not eat it. PT and OT were actually pretty good. Got out of there asap and the discharge process was awful. I actually wonder if they delayed because I have commercial insurance. Stay away from this place.

The place is old........and smelly! Staff does not wear uniforms.....Unable to know who you are speaking with...No name tags. Unprofessional and not friendly. .This place should not be opened., it plays right into what people think about Nursing Homes. How did they pass State Exam

If I could give zero stars I would. My relative is in there and we moved him after one night. Place is filthy and smells like urine and just plain unsafe for your loved ones to be there. Please do not send your loved one there. Look at other options and don’t choose this place. My step father could not get any help in the middle of the night. The first and only night he was there. What a joke. I could go on but just avoid this place at all costs.

This place is terrible, they tried to sell me luxury ad when I.got there it was a dump, my first night was terrible, mice jumping in my trashcan all night long, when I turn the light on roaches came to visit next, then when I complain, I hear we r working on it, how long have you been working on it, I would not of come had I knew I had to live in the slums, the staff were nice for the most, weekend staff are terrible, no one wants to work and when I asked for extra washcloth s I was told there aren't any, this is a shame and a disgust

The licensed staff seems to know their clients needs and attend to them fairly well, though there is a lack of communication that causes delays in service. The weekend staff is barely visible and the service is lousy on weekends. Overall, the food varies from inedible and horrid to fairly edible. I would not choose this place for anyone I love, unless there is no other choice for economic reasons. It is conveniently located, but parking is horrible. The place usually smells of urine and most of the time there are no activities for patients. It is very, very basic and spare, nothing inviting to look at here, with minimal grounds to sit/walk on.

I am a resident at the lodge I came hear a number of years ago I have watched it's rapid decline the last two years I am I think overall the staff is caring however the one bad apple spoils the bunch applies here. The food is awful there is a board for the 3 meals of the day are to be written but rarely are especially on the weekends. There was a time that I would have sent my family here but that day has past!

My personal experience with the facility was mixed. I was greeted each time I entered the rehab by a very personable receptionist, but the overall staffing of the facility was mixed, especially if it was during the weekends. The nursing staff during the week was fantastic; very personable, skilled, and informative. The staff on the weekends, on the other hand, was skeletal and the nursing staff was not as attentive. The nursing assistances were a mix as well. Most were not personable, and in my father's words, "they were pretty gruff". My father also stated that the food was terrible. On the bright side, my dad's rehab itself was good. He was admitted for MRSA in his knees, and the rehab did assist him in his motility. When he entered the facility, he was unable to bend his knees for get himself around at all. When he left the facility, he was able to get around under his own power with the help of a walker.
