My mom has moved into Bristol House Memory Care. One of the reasons it was a frontrunner was because it was strictly just for memory care, so we felt that was good. The layout of the actual place is good. It's not very large, so we feel that my mom is going to get more individualized care and more attention. This one is like two squares. The one side is the more severe and the one side is the less severe, but it's like a square. Then there's like a courtyard in the middle. If they go outside, they're in the middle. If they're wandering around, they're going to eventually get back to the room because it's going to lead them right back. The staff are very helpful. They've kept us informed and answered our questions. So far, so good. It hasn't been too long. My father has gone there three times to see her, but we have not. My sister went twice. We're trying not to do it too much because we were told in the first 10 days or so, not to go at all so that they could establish a relationship. So far, we're pretty pleased. My mom has a nice room. Their staff is good and easy to work with. We are very happy with the physical appearance as well. I know they have activities scheduled. They showed us a schedule of various things that they do. They have her there to watch and be there, but I don't know if she's joined in. They have some physical-type activities, then movie nights, music, and all that stuff. They have dogs that come in. A couple of the staff members bring their dogs in once in a while.

About Bristol House Memory Care in Warrington, Pennsylvania
Welcome to Bristol House Memory Care Nestled in the Philadelphia suburb of Warrington in Bucks County, our new community was designed on the best practices in memory care, providing a supportive environment for seniors with cognitive impairments like Alzheimers and other forms of dementia. Every detail from the paint color to the furniture material to the window coverings reveal attention to detail focused on providing person-centered care and a tranquil environment. Our community has two neighborhoods, or wings of the building, which afford resident socialization and individualized care yet shield residents from large group interaction and agitating activity. These community features are rooted in the Small House model that has been found to be the most successful environment in providing that sense of home, connectedness and ultimately, happiness. Research indicates that residents in small house communities were significantly more socially engaged and displayed few non-aggressive behaviors, such as wandering, than residents in larger, traditional settings. More importantly, all staff receives specialized training in caring for those with cognitive needs, and all care plans, activities, meals, and other facets of resident life have been designed around the best practices in dementia care. Amenities Bristol House Memory Care is designed to be accommodating for residents and offer a comfortable, home-like feel in each neighborhood, dining and family rooms. The communitys design and layout allow staff to easily monitor and assist residents when they are needed. Bristol House Memory Care community features: Private suites with closets, bathrooms and cozy common areas for group activities. Forty-eight spacious private rooms with private bathrooms. Each room has a window and the entire building is replete with natural light. Natural light is important for the overall temperament of residents and to combat issues like sundowning - the confusing of day and night. The community is divided into two, 24-room neighborhoods (wings of the building) each complete with a family room and quaint dining area and kitchen. All 24 suites in each neighbored are private and offer private bathrooms. Each neighborhood is reminiscent of a home. The two small wings allow for enhanced individual care for each resident in their activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, toileting and assistance in their rooms. It also promotes quality care in small group activities like dining, crafts, and other leisurely activities. Studies show that having smaller groups and low staff to resident ratios promotes resident engagement and decreases the likelihood of a resident being agitated. Outside is a secure courtyard with a sitting area, private gardens and walking paths. To learn more about this providers license and review other available state reports, please visit: Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Provider Directory

I'm so impressed with Bristol House Memory Care. They provide stimulation for my mother, and it's a lovely place. The staff is very caring and they're very aware of the resident's dignity. My mother's room is really pretty and it's quiet. It's a private room, so she has a bureau, a chair, and a bathroom. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful. They have activities like painting, coloring, and bowling. The day I toured they had a birthday party for the residents. They also have a quiet room for those residents who can get upset by the noise, then they have a TV, movies, and animal therapy also.

My parents have both been residents at Bristol House for about a week and a half. So far, so good! The owner and the executive director are extremely attentive and caring to my parents needs. They make the effort to talk to the residents and find out what would make them happy. The staff are very concerned about the residents needs. I’ve popped in almost every day since the move and my parent are never alone. They are always surrounded by staff. My father is very “high needs” and demands a lot of attention. The other day, he literally had four people at once helping him in the bathroom. He has not complained at all about the care he is receiving, and that speaks volumes! The place is beautiful and there are lots of spots for families to come visit and hang out with their loved ones. Everyone has been very communicative when there have been any sort of difficulty. I’m impressed so far! Update: My parents have been living at Bristol House for over a year now. I have nothing but good things to say about the facility. My parents receive good care and get the attention they need. It's been extremely difficult during COVID because due to state guidelines, we have not been allowed inside for visits. Despite this, we have been able to have window visits and "garden" visits. When I look through the window, the residents are always gathered together in the main room and doing activities with the staff. The staff understand dementia and are very good at calming my mother down when she gets upset. The owner and executive director have gone above and beyond to help my family on many occasions and we are grateful for Bristol House!
