Pond View Manor Personal Care Home was a very small facility, they only have about eight residents there, and that's where I want to place my mother. I thought they were excellent. It was very personal. I mean, they were very caring. I went there, like 4 visits, and every time I went there it was nice. It was a homey environment. The clients there were smiling. They seemed like a very loving community. When I got there one day they were doing memory-type games. It was great because then they had a discussion, and I thought that was good for a mind game. Then I went down and I talked to the owner of the place and then when I came back, they were doing exercises. They were doing gas, pedal, scissors. When they were sitting down, they were doing arm exercises, and then they got together. A gentleman and another woman were doing a puzzle together. Two women were playing cards, and another woman was reading. So I thought, it was like they were all in this one community room and they were all doing different things, but they were all talking with each other. So I did like that place an awful lot, but most of the people are very mobile. They could get around pretty well with a walker, and my mom needs a lot more assistance now. The staff was excellent, she followed up with me after I went to visit, and she would call me once a week to catch up and say "How's your mother? How are things going?"
