I like the honesty of the person I met at Renaissance Home Northampton. She was upfront. She said "This is a no-frills place. We have to do that to keep the costs lower." She lets you know that it's not bells and whistles and stuff like that. She gave me a tour of the place and took me around. She showed me the different things. They were also doing improvements/upgrades in the home. What I liked least was the price because I would share a room there, and I thought it would have been a little bit less, but it wasn't. She said that if my husband is coming in, he should be able to stand up on his own. They would help assist, but they cannot raise the person. She went into details and I was appreciative of her honesty and she laid out everything about the program. They have a dining room, a kitchen area and an area, outside where they can go and congregate. There were some of them out there having fun, enjoying the weather. In some parts of the facility where they do an upgrade, you could see that there's a big change in the carpet, but the facilities are clean. It was under construction and the places that were already finished looked good. You just don't have the little things, because like I mentioned, it's a no-frills place.

Renaissance Home Northampton was a good place. It's more for a single person than a married couple. It's rather small for married people. The service was excellent. Most of the amenities are there. The staff members were very helpful. They were very good. The facility was very clean. The layout was nice. I like the fact that it was very close to where we are now, so some of my family could come and visit. They had a very nice lunch. They are getting nutritious food. There was no sign of it being a nursing home at all. There was no smell.

I toured Renaissance Home Northampton. I didn't like it at all. It was very old, everything was rundown, and it was a bad location. There was no place to go outside. They had a little seating area outside but it was just dirty. I didn't like it. I met one person, and she was not a staff member. She was somebody that lived there, and they just left her in charge. She couldn't talk too much but just walked me around. They had a lot of wheelchairs and a lot of older people parked against the wall. It's just not for me.

Renaissance Home Northampton was very nice, very homey, and warm feeling. The room was nice and a nice size. Even the semi-private room was a nice size. The shower was in there. It's all set up perfectly for people like my mother who uses a walker. If she would need assistance, she'd have assistance. This is like the Taj Mahal compared to others. The people were very nice. The staff was very nice and friendly. The residents were very friendly as they walked by and we were sitting there. The dining area was nice. I don't know about the food. The staff told me it was homemade though, and I could see from some of the containers and things that were on the shelving because I was sitting outside of where the kitchen would be, that it was very good quality food. The staff during the tour was very nice. She listened to me. She didn't try to cut me off. She gave me a lot of information. She told me a lot of things that they did there and she brings her pet in there.

We will be moving into Renaissance Home Northampton. What I liked was the smallness of it. I was very impressed. I'm a retired organist, and they're going to let me bring my piano, which I'm beyond ecstatic about. The staff during the tour was very good. I was so happy with everything that I looked at. The rooms were very nice. The one that we're getting looks like it was just renovated. It's got two single beds. The dining area was very nice and spacious. They seemed to have a variety of activities, and I'm hoping that they will use some of my talents, because I used to own a flower shop before I retired. They were playing bingo when we got there.

Renaissance Home Northampton was a nice place. When I got there, the staff was helping out the residents. They were having a game day or something like that. Everybody was out having a good time. You have to wear a mask though and I'm not into that. The staff was very helpful to me. They have a TV room, a game room, and an outdoor patio with gardens where they could plant flowers or vegetables.

I toured the Renaissance Home Northampton for my mom. I like the community area where they had games and activities. They also had a live bird in there, in a cage, and it was nice to have a bird interaction. That was neat. The rooms were nice. They were doing a remodel at the time, so the rooms were very updated. The staff was very kind and really helpful with questions. They offer physical therapy, and they had a therapy room. They also have a cafeteria. I didn't talk to any of the staff members besides the woman that walked me around, but she was excellent. The place was in nice shape.

Renaissance Home Northampton was nice and homey. There were some outdated rooms, but they were in the process of updating them. The lady who assisted me was very nice and friendly. We went there at night, so most of the residents we saw were sitting outside, doing crossword puzzles, or just hanging out in their rooms.
