West Hills Village Senior Residence is a good community. The rooms were very nice, with about 400 square feet for a 1-bedrom with a kitchenette. The staff members are very nice, my mom gets along with them well. They have a lot of activities in-house. They bring people in to play piano, they have a happy hour, and all kinds of stuff. They're very quick on maintenance, and the place is clean.

West Hills Village Senior Residence had independent living and assisted care all in one building. They were all intermingled when I was there. They weren't expecting me and the guy was giving a tour to someone else when I was there. So, someone came and took me to the dining room, because I had gone there wanting to have lunch to check out what their food was like. I don't know how long I sat there at the table but it was a long time before one of the waiters came to ask me what I would like to eat. The special for the day was a Polish sausage and hash brown patty. So I asked for that, thinking I was going to get a Polish sausage, well it was cut up in some kind of sauce and it was terrible. The hash brown patty was edible. The guy finally came in and gave me a tour. He was nice. The rooms were larger than the other two places I had seen, but it's kind of down below the surrounding area. So you kind of feel like you're at the bottom. I was not pleasantly impressed at all. The decor just wasn't what I liked. I guess it was OK for people who like that kind of decor, something that was dark.

Very nice facility! West Hills Village by far was the best combo of friendly staff, great food & the overall vibe compared to other communities. My mom loves it. Highly recommended!

West Hills Village is a nice-looking place. There are lots of activities for seniors, and the food is very good. The room is nice, a good size, and well maintained. They have daily fitness, crafts, activities, music a few times a week, and happy hour three times a week.

Everything at West Hills Village is excellent. The room and apartment are beautiful. The staff has been wonderful and very helpful. We were really worried about the food, but she loves it. She fit in way better than we thought she would and has met lots of friends. There's lots of friendly and the helpful people. They’ve really helped us to get things done that we needed, like the doctor’s analysis, getting her meds, and helping us through the whole process. We had called several places just because we were in a mad rush, but she ended up in the place she really wanted to go to. It worked out perfect.

This facility offers independent living and assisted living, with rehab and skilled nursing available separately but within the same complex. Parking is good, on a nice campus, near a lively neighborhood. West Hills Village is a really nice facility"”clean and very airy. There's a feeling of elegance and spaciousness here, even though it's in the median price range compared to other places in the area. The lighting is good, the hallways are wide"”and they've done a good job of decorating. There's low staff turnover, and the executive director has been there at least a decade. Best of all, the people are very friendly"”and the caregiving staff seems to be calm and competent and plentiful. There were problems in the past with the skilled nursing portion of the facility, but they have been corrected; new nursing management was hired. The residents and staff are frequently out and about talking with one another, which gives an active feel to the place. The residents' rooms are fairly basic but large. The food is good, advertised as fine dining"”and it seems to deliver on that promise. The administration here does a lot with the external community, and now houses OASIS"”a national program for adult learning, so there are many programs offered onsite for a very nominal fee; they also offer many volunteer activities for both residents and for outsiders who can come into the facility to present specialized programs. There is no dedicated memory care, but West Hills Health and Rehab, which is just across campus, is convenient for residents who have hospitalization needs or need long-term nursing. The cost, as mentioned, is medium-range for the area: starting at $2,550 per month in independent living. Pets are accepted.
